It looks like the drive is replying with an ILLEGAL REQUEST/INVALID
FIELD IN CDB error to all the interesting SCSI commands, and to pretty
much anything hdparm sends it.
I've also tried throwing sdparm at it. The only page sdparm can get out
of it is the basic identification page:
Installing nvidia-396 from graphics-drivers PPA solved the issue for me.
Only the nvidia-settings app fails silently when I try to open it.

print jobs. In my current build though (0.2.6-1ubuntu4~artful1) it
works. Tested on Ubuntu 18.04. Haven't had time to look at it lately.

Have now tried using 4.14 kernel with Ubuntu 18.04 and it fixes the
problem. Using a 4.14 kernel with Ubuntu 18.04 and Kubuntu 18.04 allows
suspend to work as it should.
In the case of Ubuntu 18.04, it is the same for Ubuntu on X or Wayland.
i.e both fail on a 4.15+ kernel and both work using

update: I put an intel x550 10gbe pcie card in and it runs at 10gbe
without a hiccup... scans all the libraries without issue; no GPFs...
definitely something up with either the atlantic driver or (doubtful)
the controller itself.
