Samsung SCX-4600 ID 04e8:3433 suffers from this issue too.
It worked fine on Ubuntu 16.04 and 16.10. 17.10 seems to have caused it.
Simple Scan doesn't find the scanner anymore.
Xsane finds it. Sometimes it doesn't.
When it does find it, it fails to scan with "Failed to start scanner:Error
@John. No problem.
The ffmpeg devloper's argument doesn't seem too robust.
I'd guess the proposal rejection might not be set in stone.
If enough people reasoned with them they might change their minds.

Im new to this and all i did was:
created a partition on my disk (have windows installed too)
downloaded ubuntu from official website
using etcher ive put the iso file on formatted fat 32 pen drive.
Booted and started ubuntu without installing and clicked to install it by

Title:
I have this issue on a hyper-v gen2 secure-boot Ubuntu 16.04 Desktop
install. Because it's gen2 Hyper-v I can't boot my usual
SystemRescueCD, and dropping into recovery mode from the grub menu is
also worthless due to this bug. My last option is to boot from an
install cd and try to resize the
Laptop Samsung NC110-P03RU

in '/etc/gdm3/custom.conf' uncommenting
#WaylandEnable=false

WaylandEnable=false
