[Bug 1832472] Re: cdc_ncm floods syslog unneccessarily
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Upon plugging in a USB adapter for NBase-T ethernet with an Realtek chip RTL8156 the kernel module cdc_ncm starts flooding /var/log/syslog with unneccessary status info. [Bug 1832495] [NEW] Browser windows spread across workspaces upon restore
Public bug reported: This bug has shown up in every version of Linux Mint I have used (currently 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit). It occurs by doing the following: Immediately after initiating restore of a multi-window browser session (e.g. FireFox), switch to a different workspace. If the system is in the early stages of restoring multiple browser windows (and/or multiple tabs) when switch to workspace is done, then whatever windows / tabs are being restored at that instant will "follow" into the workspace just switched to. So the effect is to spread the multi-window session across multiple workspaces, when they should be restored only in the workspace where restoration was initiated. The three workarounds for this bug that I am aware of are: 1) Don't use more than one workspace (obviously unacceptable), 2) Don't open more than one browser window (also unacceptable), 3) Wait a sufficient amount of time for all windows to be started up in the workspace from which browser restoration started before switching to another workspace. It should be obvious that the more browser windows there are to restore, the easier it is to reproduce this bug, and more time user must wait before switching to another workspace. I often restore browser sessions made up of 20 browser windows or more, so it is quite easy for me to reproduce! ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1832495 Title: Browser windows spread across workspaces upon restore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1832495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1832475] [NEW] tty do no work after putting laptop on docking station
Public bug reported: On ubuntu 18.04 using gdm3 and gnome-shell, getting into virtual consoles works well when the laptop is not on the docking station. After putting it on the docking station (getting then 2 monitors), using CTRL+ALT+F{3,4,5,6} freezes the GUI. I can come back to GUI using CTRL+ALT+F7. However, after going in text mode ("systemctl isolate multi- user.target") and restarting gdm3, it works again, even if already on the docking station. It looks like putting the laptop on the docking station make this bug happen. It does not happen when the laptop is booted on the docking station. [Bug 1826459] Re: systemd-networkd not installing GatewayOnlink=true
Hello, Sorry for the late response and please reopen it. The issue happens in a DMZ. We have two servers in 95.216.96.128/26 with ip 95.216.96.149 and 95.216.96.150, normally we are able to reach those servers directly (cause they are in the same subnet). Sadly our hosting provider forbids direct communication between 149 and 150 (DMZ), thats why we added in the past (ubuntu 16.04) the "via" statement, because all communication needs to go over 95.216.96.129. Sadly netplan / systemd doesnt support / add this route, thats why our internal communcation currently is broken. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826459 Title: systemd-networkd not installing GatewayOnlink=true To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/netplan/+bug/1826459/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1832110] Re: Resource Sharing with multiple sshd services
Thank you for the additional information. > The original OpenSSH 7.6p1 source code assigns the privilege separation directory to /var/empty (see OpenSSH man sshd page). Does that somehow mean that your problem doesn't occur if you use only the upstream source code and no distribution patches? If so, how? > The frustration I have with both the OpenSSH teams and the Ubuntu teams is neither want to take ownership. I am trying to provide a solution to both teams and I am getting complete rejection. Nobody owes you any duty to take ownership. Developers usually care about issues proportionately to how widely they affect users. I understand the problem you're facing, but right now it seems to affect only you, and so I don't think it warrants "taking ownership" by any team. I don't see this happening unless someone is persuaded on technical merits such as applicability to a wider use case or a lower maintenance burden to carry a patch. Separately from that, if someone offers a patch, as you are doing, then we are grateful and we will, as a project, make a decision as to whether it will take it, decline it or require the issue to be resolved in a different way before accepting it. > So how can we come to consensus on this? The consensus amongst Ubuntu developers is currently "Won't Fix" for the reasons I've given already. As I said, you're welcome to continue discussion on the technical issues, but on the social side you do seem have a mistaken expectation that "Won't Fix" somehow means that some Ubuntu developer is going to "take ownership". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1832110 Title: Resource Sharing with multiple sshd services To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1832110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
