Thanks for that hint !
Before going for a central reload queue, I'll see if I can find a more
simple fix.
My plan would be to add a minimal delay before doing a reload of a
specific thunar-folder (via g_timeout_add). And after that delay, only
the latest "reload trigger" is considered, so that

suprisingly well.
Possibly it makes sense to use the same burst prevention for other
"reload" triggers on other thunar components.

Hi,
intel_idle.max_cstate=1 DOES provide a workaround (no freezes, but high
battery usage).
The patch is going to get into 5.2 merge window apparently, so I will
test it in that moment (in 4 weeks). Perhaps I will compile a kernel
with the patch, but is difficult with this hardware.

I had a distribution upgrade crash when I was trying to upgrade from
18.04 to 19.10 and a .crash was generated. I didn't want to report it
from the system which crashed so I ran apport (to do the data
collection) and saved the information in the report. I then copied it
over

I removed timidity (without even purging) and my sound satarted working
normally, even though my audio group still contains two users: pulse and
timidity. This group is supposed to be empty?
I reinstalled timidity and timidity-daemon and the problem returned. I
