My suspicion is that we never get as far as askpass – gnome-keyring-
daemon spawns a ssh-agent to pass requests on to (in my case, that's
easy to spot because I use PKCS#11 tokens and that's the one spawning

When I killed the frozen gnome-shell process, it had recovered by the

According to #19, the 4.15.0-50 can work that is because the driver doesn't
check the ELD status, that is not correct. The hdmi audio is valid/plugged only
if both monitor_present and eld_valid are true, but that is the log from
4.15.0-50:
