I updated both Ubuntu and I upgrade FreeBSD to 12.1, but it did not
help. Both system remain incompatible. A serious regression that forces
me to fall back on rsync-backup or ext4-boot with correctly featured
user datapools with large_dnode disabled.
So what else should we learn:
- Never break
I tested this on Xubuntu 18.04.3, and xfce4-terminal gives the expected
output (like xterm as well). I do not see how this should depend on the
terminal application used. I guess it is pretty safe to use guest
session in Xubuntu.

On two systems with 33 peers I noticed that this shows up in dmesg after
a reboot:
netlink: 'systemd-network': attribute type 5 has an invalid length.
These lines also show up whenever I run `sudo systemctl restart systemd-
networkd` now. They didn't show up before the reboot.
This suggests
nproc is in coreutil so I am not sure why it happened.

I did hide my errors :)
On the ZOL site Richard Laager advised me to look also at the dnodesize
property for the datasets, since both systems had the zpool feature large-dnode
"active". He assumed that the send/receive should work. The FreeBSD system had
all dnodesizes from all datasets set to
