Multiple sources of configuration is still an issue. Someone inspecting sshd config will not see that the AuthorizedKeyCommand is being passed via arguments, further they may not know where this additional override is coming from w.r.t the systemd drop-in config. If a user (or program via cloud-init config) were to modify sshd config and set their own AuthorizedKeyCommand, this scenario will fail for them since the ec2-instance-connect drop in will always take precedence. [Bug 1863001] Re: Incorrect LAYOUT is set when choosing Lithuanian in dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration and Ubiquity
This patch replaces not intuitive secondary lt(us) layout with us(altgr- intl), which uses majority of Lithuanian users as secondary layout. ** Patch added: "Patch against console-setup-1.194ubuntu2/debian/keyboard-configuration.config - fixes LT layout" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/console-setup/+bug/1863001/+attachment/5328000/+files/keyboard-configuration.config-LT-layout.patch ** Description changed: If user chooses Lithuanian keyboard layout during installation (Ubiquity) or dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration then incorrect layout is set in /etc/default/keyboard : XKBLAYOUT="lt,lt" XKBVARIANT=",us" This configuration is not intuitive, because people think, that sometimes Lithuanian keyboard works (when lt1 is selected in GNOME shell panel) and sometimes doesn't work (when lt2 is selected). So, majority of Lithuanian users are force to removed second lt(us) layout and add English (US) altgr-intl layout. So, correct /etc/default/keyboard should be: XKBMODEL="pc105" XKBLAYOUT="lt,us" XKBVARIANT=",altgr-intl" XKBOPTIONS="grp_led:scroll" BACKSPACE="guess" - I will attach a patch to debian/keyboard-configuration.config file which + I'm attaching a patch to debian/keyboard-configuration.config file which fixes this issue ** Tags added: patch ** Summary changed: - Incorrect LAYOUT is set when choosing Lithuanian in dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration and Ubiquity + [PATCH] Incorrect LAYOUT is set when choosing Lithuanian in dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration and Ubiquity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863001 Title: [PATCH] Incorrect LAYOUT is set when choosing Lithuanian in dpkg- reconfigure keyboard-configuration and Ubiquity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/console-setup/+bug/1863001/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1245473] Re: Binding ctrl+shift, alt+shift, etc for switching keyboard layout makes shortcuts with ctrl+shift, etc not working in any program
A. Major kudos to nrbrtx for maintaining the patched Xorg PPA - this was a life saver, and I don't believe it was mentioned enough. B. Is this still an issue? Currently - on beta focal, I am using Xorg from Ubuntu (without Norbert's PPA) on KDE Plasma 5.18, and I don't see to have this problem: I have ALT+SHIFT bound to layout change (`setxkbmap -option grp:alt_shift_toggle`), and ALT+SHIFT changes language while ALT+SHIFT+ triggers shortcut (I use Eclipse which defaults to a lot of ALT+SHIFT-* shortcuts). Is anyone on focal or eoan still have this problem (when using Ubuntu or upstream xorg)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1245473 Title: Binding ctrl+shift, alt+shift, etc for switching keyboard layout makes shortcuts with ctrl+shift, etc not working in any program To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1245473/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I ran into this because I want to do a kernel test compile with a changed kernel option. After modifying kernel options one needs to run "fakeroot debian/rules updateconfigs" and at some point in time the CROSS_COMPILE setting became needed to address architecture-dependent tests in Kconfig options.
