I had a bad experience trying to reverse out of this problem with
2.30-0ubuntu2.1 installed under proposed. Fortunately I treaded lightly
and linked it to the proposed update line and was able to downgrade to
2.30-0ubuntu2. Had to reinstall a bunch of stuff, including the nvidia
driver, but all was
$ gdb ../../chronyd
(gdb) set environment LD_PRELOAD
/home/ubuntu/clknetsim-156b8e4f63fd8174104e3dd05bda19166b5ab0ac//clknetsim.so
(gdb) set environment CLKNETSIM_NODE 1

But then we found it:

The screen is distorted/scrambled every now and then. That is, it's like
a few lines of pixels are repeated (so it's a normally a blur). The
screen also flickers at times. This happens a few times a few. I've
noticed that if I close the lid and let the screen dim/blank/suspend

correctly, so the i386-caused issues should have disappeared. I will be
