I had some other software crashing and wanting to report a bug, Apport
displayed a pretty nonsensical message box (see the screenshot).

Title:
I finally was able to solve this. It turns out, my key was too old and
thus kind of disabled as a security measure, I suppose. After creating a
new key based off ED25519 and adding the corresponding public key to
~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the server, things are now working again.

This is on a private instance and I cannot run apport-collect. I am

I had the same problem. I got message:

Both Lubuntu installer and KDE Partition Manager failed to create partition.
I tried gparted - it worked fine.
So I used gparted first
