[Bug 1912307] Re: [MIR] abseil
I have some reservations on the fact that the API and ABI are not stable, and having thus the revision in the soname (actually even, the date!). See more info about symbol tracking in the dedicated section above and why I think this is ok. Also, there is no official releases but only snapshots. However, this wouldn’t be the first one in that case being promoted in main and both upstream and debian tracking looks good. Notes: Required TODOs: - version blocked in proposed FTBFS on multiple archs. This needs fixing before final ack. - as a reminder, once acked, needs a team subscribed before promotion. Recommended TODOs: - see the additional notes below (reporting the warning during build for instance) [Duplication] There is no other package in main providing the same functionality. [Dependencies] OK: - no other Dependencies to MIR due to this - no -dev/-debug/-doc packages that need exclusion [Embedded sources and static linking] OK: - no embedded source present - no static linking [Security] OK: - history of CVEs does not look concerning - does not run a daemon as root - does not use webkit1,2 - does not use lib*v8 directly - does not parse data formats - does not open a port - does not process arbitrary web content - does not use centralized online accounts - does not integrate arbitrary javascript into the desktop - does not deal with system authentication (eg, pam), etc) [Common blockers] OK: - does have a test suite that runs at build time - test suite fails will fail the build upon error. - does have a test suite that runs as autopkgtest - no translation present, but none needed for this case (user visible)? - not a python/go package, no extra constraints to consider in that regard Problems: - version blocked in proposed FTBFS on multiple archs. - The package needs a team bug subscriber (agreeing that can be just done just before promoting the package) [Packaging red flags] OK: - Ubuntu does not carry a delta - d/watch is present and looks ok - Upstream update history is good (no release though, but code maintained) - Debian/Ubuntu update history is good - there is no current release, but a recent snapshot is packaged - promoting this does not seem to cause issues for MOTUs that so far - no massive Lintian warnings - d/rules is rather clean - Does not have Built-Using Problems: - No symbols tracking is in place. The package used to have one, but this one was reverted https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=966183 due to the fact that there is no stable API or ABI. The package thus force to depend on an exact version and this is a NEW binary package at every new update. This wouldn’t be the first case of this in main (compiz, nux, e-d-s…). Also, the number of reverse dependencies (outside the current package) is rather small: $ reverse-depends libabsl20200923 Reverse-Depends * libabsl-dev * libgav1-0 * libgav1-bin * libgrpc++1 * libgrpc10 * python3-grpcio So, basically 2 sources packages will need a transition (and already needs in universe) : - grpc (in sync with Debian) - libgav1 (in sync with Debian) As both are in sync with Debian, this doesn’t add more maintainance on us. [Upstream red flags] OK: - no Errors/warnings during the build - no incautious use of malloc/sprintf (as far as I can check it) - no use of sudo, gksu, pkexec, or LD_LIBRARY_PATH - no use of user nobody - no use of setuid - no important open bugs (crashers, etc) in Debian or Ubuntu - no dependency on webkit, qtwebkit, seed or libgoa-* - not part of the UI for extra checks Problems: One minor warning during build: /tmp/ccmiXRG2.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/ccmiXRG2.s:70723: Warning: ignoring changed section attributes for .text ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #966183 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=966183 ** Changed in: abseil (Ubuntu) Assignee: Didier Roche (didrocks) => Sebastien Bacher (seb128) ** Changed in: abseil (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1912307 Title: [MIR] abseil To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/abseil/+bug/1912307/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1913388] [NEW] clucene-core: please pull in patch to stabilize API on s390x during upgrade to glibc 2.33
Public bug reported: On s390x, the type float_t has historically been defined as double for no good reason, yet with unexpected and unnecessary impact on performance in some scenarios. The upcoming glibc release 2.33 will be a first step towards cleaning that up, which will change float_t to become float on s390x when compiling C++ code, such as in clucene-core. That would break the ABI of clucene-core on s390x for existing binaries. Today, clucene-core uses float_t for some parameters in its API; that type is defined as double on s390x today. Together with gcc's default behavior, that contradicts the C standard. To get to a more sane combination, the upcoming glibc release 2.33 will change float_t to become float on s390x (with some exceptions when compiling C code, which do not apply for clucene-core). To my knowledge, glibc 2.33 is a candidate for inclusion in Ubuntu 21.04. To avoid breaking the API of clucene-core in the process, I have prepared a trivial patch that fixes clucene-core's API to always use double instead of float_t on s390x. That patch effectively persists the current de-facto API on s390x, without changes for other architectures. Note that using float_t in an API is generally "not a great idea", because that type can have different definitions even with the same compiler and glibc version on the same system (e.g., on 32-bit x86, when switching between SSE and x87 FP ops). Patch submitted in https://sourceforge.net/p/clucene/bugs/233/ and https://sourceforge.net/p/clucene/mailman/message/37153930/ yet upstream clucene is effectively unmaintained. If Ubuntu 21.04 adopts glibc 2.33, please consider pulling in this patch in clucene-core. [Bug 1912844] Re: Bond with OVS bridging RuntimeError: duplicate mac found!
Particulars about what role a Open vSwitch port/interface has is unfortunately not exposed through sysfs nor iproute2 tools POV. Open vSwitch and its data path driver would manage that based on configuration stored in Open vSwitch. If it is sufficient to know that this is a Open vSwitch managed port I guess we could get that from udev, for example: # udevadm info /sys/class/net/enp6s0.9 P: /devices/virtual/net/enp6s0.9 L: 0 E: DEVPATH=/devices/virtual/net/enp6s0.9 E: INTERFACE=enp6s0.9 E: IFINDEX=7 E: SUBSYSTEM=net E: USEC_INITIALIZED=229384665 E: ID_MM_CANDIDATE=1 E: ID_NET_NAMING_SCHEME=v245 E: ID_NET_DRIVER=openvswitch E: ID_NET_LINK_FILE=/usr/lib/systemd/network/99-default.link E: SYSTEMD_ALIAS=/sys/subsystem/net/devices/enp6s0.9 E: TAGS=:systemd: If you really need to know the specific role the port has you would have to query Open vSwitch: Create a Open vSwitch vlan interface: # ovs-vsctl add-br br0 # ovs-vsctl add-port br0 enp6s0 # ovs-vsctl add-port br0 enp6s0.9 tag=9 -- set interface enp6s0.9 type=internal Alternatively you could do the same with "fake bridges" which allows for a slightly different CLI experience, I think netplan does the latter. [Bug 1912777] Re: KVM_EXIT_MMIO has increased in Qemu4.0.0 when compared to Qemu 2.11.0
The testcase is a rather a very basic one. Doing a mmap on a pcie device and triggering a read and write operation on the Virtual Address, which would in-turn trigger transaction requests on the host device. I understand that Qemu v4.0 may be and old one, but the issue is that test case execution has become rather very slow with Qemu4.0.0 and the only thing i could notice from using tracebacks were related with increase in KVM_MMIO_EXIT when compared with Qemu2.11.0 version. [Bug 1913342] Re: zfs.8 man page snapshot listing instructions are confusing
listsnaps is an alias of listsnapshots, but you're right that it's on the pool. Can you file this upstream: https://github.com/openzfs/zfs/issues/new/choose If you want, you could take a stab at submitting a pull request. It's a pretty simple sounding change. The repo is here: https://github.com/openzfs/zfs The man pages are in the "man" subdirectory. For your "Extra Credit" piece, "zfs list -t filesystem, snapshot" shows both filesystems and snapshots for everything. "zfs list -t snapshot dataset" shows snapshots for the specified dataset. But if you combine those together as "zfs list -t filesystem, snapshot dataset", you do not get snapshots. However, "zfs list -t filesystem, snapshot -r dataset" does show the snapshots. Whether that's a bug or not, I can't say. But that's a more detailed explanation of that problem that will be helpful if you file a bug report on that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1913342 Title: zfs.8 man page snapshot listing instructions are confusing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zfs-linux/+bug/1913342/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1913365] [NEW] "Adjust pitch" changes adjustment between songs
Public bug reported: Under Tools > Effects and Filters > Advances, when "Adjust pitch" is enabled, it works properly for the duration of the current song. After that, the audible pitch changes (though the displayed number of semitones remains the same). This problem has been fixed in the Debian Testing/Unstable python- virtualenv package. Could the Ubuntu package backport these fixes? This is blocking Ansible supporting 20.04 officially, since the dirty virtualenvs are causing our tests to fail. https://github.com/ansible/ansible/issues/69203 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880749 Title: Ubuntu 20.04: virtualenv: pep517 requires toml, but it isn't bundled in venvs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/virtualenv/+bug/1880749/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I needed use hdajackretask And force pin ID 0x1a to be "Headphone" pin ID 0x18 to be "Microphone" if alc255-asus don't works for you, you can try another options, like: alc269-dmic, alc271-dmic, headset-mic, alc283-headset. Don't forget to restart the machine after hdajackretask. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1304074 Title: [X550CC, Realtek ALC270, Black Headphone Out, Left] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1304074/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1912066] Re: Roccat ISKU Keyboard not working, Kernel 5.8.x
"Is package "linux-modules-extra" installed?" That fixed it. linux-modules-extra-5.4.0-62-generic was installed, linux-modules-extra-5.8.0-40-generic was not installed. I usually just run the Software Updater. However, after installing linux-modules- extra-5.8.0-40-generic, everything appears to be working. [Bug 1913353] [NEW] [SRU] libreoffice 7.0.4 for groovy
Public bug reported: [Impact] * LibreOffice 7.0.4 is in its fourth bugfix release of the 7.0 line: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/7.0#7.0.4_release * Version 7.0.3 is currently released in groovy. For a list of fixed bugs compared to 7.0.3 see the list of bugs fixed in the release candidate (that's a total of 114 bugs): https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/7.0.4/RC1#List_of_fixed_bugs https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Releases/7.0.4/RC2#List_of_fixed_bugs * Given the nature of the project, the complexity of the codebase and the high level of quality assurance upstream, it is preferable to SRU a minor release rather than cherry-pick selected bug fixes. [Testing] * Upstream testing. Bugs fixed upstream typically include unit/regression tests, and the release itself is extensively exercised (both in an automated manner and manually). * A recent set of upstream's automated jenkins testing can be found here: https://ci.libreoffice.org/job/gerrit_linux_gcc_release/81006/ * More information about the upstream QA testing can be found here: * Automated tests - https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Testing/Automated_Tests * Automated UI tests - https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/UITests * Regression tests - https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Testing/Regression_Tests * Feature tests - https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Testing/Feature_Tests * Launchpad testing. The libreoffice packages include autopkgtests that were run and verified as passing. * [amd64] https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-groovy-libreoffice-libreoffice-prereleases/groovy/amd64/libr/libreoffice/20210126_020350_eb992@/log.gz * [arm64] https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-groovy-libreoffice-libreoffice-prereleases/groovy/arm64/libr/libreoffice/20210126_154647_38aee@/log.gz * [armhf] https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-groovy-libreoffice-libreoffice-prereleases/groovy/armhf/libr/libreoffice/20210126_073153_1be0f@/log.gz * [ppc64el] https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-groovy-libreoffice-libreoffice-prereleases/groovy/ppc64el/libr/libreoffice/20210126_045614_59384@/log.gz * [s390x] https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac/autopkgtest-groovy-libreoffice-libreoffice-prereleases/groovy/s390x/libr/libreoffice/20210126_043026_b70af@/log.gz * General smoke testing of all the applications in the office suite were carried out by going through the manual testplan as documented by: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Process/Merges/TestPlans/libreoffice [Regression Potential] * A minor release with a total of 114 bug fixes always carries the potential for introducing regressions, even though it is a bugfix-only release, meaning that no new features were added, and no existing features were removed. * A combination of autopkgtests and careful smoke testing as described above should provide reasonable confidence that no regressions sneaked in. ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1913353 Title: [SRU] libreoffice 7.0.4 for groovy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1913353/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
