[Bug 1919098] Re: Netplan not linked to networkmanager
There is no installation image named "ubuntu-mate-server 20-10". What was exact name? I do not see logs, so please add output of the below commands manually: ``` head -n5 /etc/apt/sources.list sudo cat /var/log/installer/{version,media-info} ``` Technically I'm on yours side, because I like to use mini.iso ( http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal/main/installer- amd64/current/legacy-images/netboot/mini.iso ) and tried to use Ubuntu server image ( https://askubuntu.com/a/1294116/66509 ) to install desktop on top of it. [Bug 1919186] Re: rsync: [generator] failed to set permissions on "/media/ziomario/isoarm/aosp/vendor-rw/bin/expand": Operation not supported (95)
IIRC the discussions that happened on this topic already asked for the target file system. I see you mount the image there root@ziomario-Z390-AORUS-PRO:/media/ziomario/isoarm/aosp# sudo mount system-rw.img system-rw ut fromt he log it is unclear what Filesystem that is, and the rsync command asks it to retain ownership/permissions which some filesystems can't store. Hence after mounting your image, could you check as what this is effectively mounted? Maybe for a start just post: $ mount | grep system Once you know that you very likely will be able to break it down to a much simpler case. For example take "one file" with "this set of ownership/permissions" and copy it from "e.g. ext4" to an image that is "unknown filesystem". Which would be much much easier than having everyone try to setup aosp and such. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1919186 Title: rsync: [generator] failed to set permissions on "/media/ziomario/isoarm/aosp/vendor-rw/bin/expand": Operation not supported (95) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsync/+bug/1919186/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1810183] Re: numpad on touchpad doesn't work in ASUS Zenbook 14
@clunphumb My guess is that some command is send through i2c during Windows boot process when the driver detects the device. This command enables the keyboard. Then the button at the upper right corner starts working as a NumLock button. You are catching another command that lights up the numbers. It is sent when that virtual key is pressed. But things may be worse, and the firmware can't work by itself. There may be an analog of the python script in the driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1810183 Title: numpad on touchpad doesn't work in ASUS Zenbook 14 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1810183/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 1919308 When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. Please note: `ubuntu-bug`, `apport` & bug reporting tools are provided with Ubuntu by default, many require manual addition for some releases of downstream OSes based on Ubuntu (eg. Linux Mint). You should check with your distribution first. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1919308 Title: sometimes unable to play media like youtube To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1919308/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1810183] Re: numpad on touchpad doesn't work in ASUS Zenbook 14
Ok, I think this issue will be solved in a few days ! Thanks to you, I finally found the magic lines. My laptop is : Asus-VivoBook-ASUSLaptop-X421IA-M433IA The command "sudo i2cdetect -l" return theses lines : i2c-3 smbus SMBus PIIX4 adapter port 1 at 0b20 SMBus adapter i2c-1 smbus SMBus PIIX4 adapter port 0 at 0b00 SMBus adapter i2c-6 i2c AMDGPU DM aux hw bus 0 I2C adapter i2c-4 i2c AMDGPU DM i2c hw bus 0 I2C adapter i2c-2 smbus SMBus PIIX4 adapter port 2 at 0b00 SMBus adapter i2c-0 i2c Synopsys DesignWare I2C adapter I2C adapter i2c-5 i2c AMDGPU DM i2c hw bus 1 I2C adapter And now, to turn on the numpad I use this command : sudo i2ctransfer -f -y 0 w13@0x15 0x05 0x00 0x3d 0x03 0x06 0x00 0x07 0x00 0x0d 0x14 0x03 0x01 0xad And to turn the numpad off this one : sudo i2ctransfer -f -y 0 w13@0x15 0x05 0x00 0x3d 0x03 0x06 0x00 0x07 0x00 0x0d 0x14 0x03 0x00 0xad As I told before, I succeed to turn it on with the "all ports test" command but wanted to know the good one and I started to test 1 to 6 but could not guess it was 0 ! I really think that there is no hardware to handle the numpad since without the correct driver installed, there is no way use the lightpad. So, i'm sure there is a little program running in background to detect the zone pressed in the numpad and display the corresponding number. Someone already wrote such a program and if I could get it work, I would have printed numbers on a transparent sticky paper and place it on the numpad. But people who succeed in turning on the numpad will probably make us a kind of .deb to install and get this thing work ! I trust you ! Whatever, many thanks for this hack ! Even if I can't use it for now, I can give the illusion that Linux do the job too ! :-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1810183 Title: numpad on touchpad doesn't work in ASUS Zenbook 14 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1810183/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1919173] Re: PC freeze under 5.8.0-45.51
Hi Guilherme, I marked the bug as invalid. My issue is related to (LP: #1914472 "- module: delay kobject uevent until after module init call") that have been introduced with 5.8.0-45 and a special LKRG module . [Bug 1470730] Re: [HP EliteBook 840 G2, Realtek ALC3228, HP UltraSlim Dock 2013] Line in/Line out on docking station doesn't work
I can confirm. This is still existing for me on: - Ubuntu 20.04.2 - Linux 5.8.0-44-generic - HP-EliteBook-840-G6 - HP UltraSlim Dock 2013 - Realtek ALC215 I tried almost all steps described here and in other places. Without any luck. If I use hdajacksensetest with plugged jack in dock I get: $ hdajacksensetest -c 0 -a Pin 0x12 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x13 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x14 (Internal Speaker): present = No Pin 0x16 (Not connected): present = Yes Pin 0x17 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x18 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x19 (Black Mic, Right side): present = No Pin 0x1a (Not connected): present = Yes Pin 0x1b (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1d (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1e (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x21 (Black Headphone, Right side): present = No If I use hdajacksensetest with unplugged jack in dock I get: $ hdajacksensetest -c 0 -a Pin 0x12 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x13 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x14 (Internal Speaker): present = No Pin 0x16 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x17 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x18 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x19 (Black Mic, Right side): present = No Pin 0x1a (Not connected): present = Yes Pin 0x1b (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1d (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1e (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x21 (Black Headphone, Right side): present = No Which leads me to the assumption pin 0x16 is the one Iam looking for. I tried to hdajackretask it but got: "tee: /sys/class/sound/hwC0D0/reconfig: Device or resource busy" I followed the steps to temporary disable pulseaudio as suggested in different posts. But trying to hdajackretask now, it always freezes the tool (ubuntu shows the "force quit" dialog every now and then) when I click on "Apply now" and after entering my password. After killing it computer stays busy a lot and all sound devices are gone. Having a look at alsamixer also fails then: $ alsamixer alsamixer - cannot open mixer: No such file or directory After reboot everything is back in place. But still no output on the jack of the dock. After investing some hours of try and error i found this: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2392730 So I tried to simply overwrite my pin 0x16 with "Dock line out". It seems to work. At least I get a file stored in /lib/firmware/: $ cat /lib/firmware/hda-jack-retask.fw [codec] 0x10ec0215 0x103c854d 0 [pincfg] 0x12 0x4000 0x13 0x41f0 0x14 0x90170110 0x16 0x220140b0 0x17 0x41f0 0x18 0x41f0 0x19 0x04a11040 0x1a 0x41f0 0x1b 0x41f0 0x1d 0x4061 0x1e 0x41f0 0x21 0x04211020 And one in /etc/modprobe.d/: $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/hda-jack-retask.conf # This file was added by the program 'hda-jack-retask'. # If you want to revert the changes made by this program, you can simply erase this file and reboot your computer. options snd-hda-intel patch=hda-jack-retask.fw,hda-jack-retask.fw,hda-jack-retask.fw,hda-jack-retask.fw Which makes me confident that at least hdajackretask did its job. But now I dont have sound at all. If I use hdajacksensetest with plugged jack in dock now I get: $ hdajacksensetest -c 0 -a Pin 0x12 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x13 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x14 (Internal Speaker): present = No Pin 0x16 (Not connected): present = Yes Pin 0x17 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x18 (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x19 (Black Mic, Right side): present = No Pin 0x1a (Not connected): present = Yes Pin 0x1b (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1d (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x1e (Not connected): present = No Pin 0x21 (Black Headphone, Right side): present = No Which is exactly the same as before. I also tried the approach from Gijs with the "Advanced options". Same result. Would appreciate help on that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1470730 Title: [HP EliteBook 840 G2, Realtek ALC3228, HP UltraSlim Dock 2013] Line in/Line out on docking station doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1470730/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1919146] Re: Dependency removed on chromium-browser
Sure. We use Browsershot (https://github.com/spatie/browsershot), which in turn uses Puppeteer (https://developers.google.com/web/tools/puppeteer/) to use chromium-browser in headless mode to generate PDF's from HTML. Without libx11-xcb1, chromium-browser never completes, which causes all processes to just hang indefinitely until the system is starved from resources.
