[Bug 67500] regression: zoom in/zoom out buttons no longer available

2006-10-22 Thread David Carr
Public bug reported:

In evince 0.6.1 you can no longer add the Zoom in and Zoom out
buttons to the toolbar. In Dapper all you had to do was Edit-Toolbar
and then you could drag these buttons onto the toolbar. Now these
buttons are not listed under Edit-Toolbar. I found those buttons very
useful when browsing PDFs.

I've found that this functionality still exists in evince and was able
to add these buttons by editing a config file. However thats hardly a
solution especially since this worked fine in Dapper.

To enable the buttons via config file:
Edit ~/.gnome2/evince/evince_toolbar.xml

Add the ViewZoomIn and ViewZoomOut sections as below:

 toolbar name=DefaultToolBar hidden=false editable=true
toolitem name=GoPreviousPage/
toolitem name=GoNextPage/
separator/
toolitem name=PageSelector/
separator/
toolitem name=ViewZoom/
toolitem name=ViewZoomIn/
toolitem name=ViewZoomOut/
  /toolbar

Re: [Bug 57502] Re: JMicron PATA/SATA Controller does not work

2006-10-22 Thread Andcor
Well, it isn't easy to forget about ubuntu. It is, in my oppinion by far the
best linux-dist on the market right now. It would be an terrible setback for
me if this bug gets forgotten since I have build a media center which
hardware isn't well supported in windows media center ed.

I have written to Ben Collins who owns this bug, and the only thing he
writes back are that the cd's should work, and that they sometimes is very
slow at startup.

I have bought some cdrw's to burn the dailys from today to see if it has
gotten better. Don't know if any others would like to write to him, so that
he can realize that the bug isn't quite fixet yet.

[Bug 41533] Re: [UNMETDEPS] mozilla-locale-zh-cn has unmet dependencies

This is due to mozilla-locale-zh-cn depending on mozilla-browser (

source package needs to be updated. But as Debian also has the same old

[Bug 27466] Re: [radeon] can't do dual-link tmds, or second tmds transmitter

2006-10-22 Thread Jeremiah Poling
Alex:
I believe that edgy picked up whatever patches cipherfunk had pulled into his
version.
I get the same results. I have a picture over the DVI now, but it flickers
pretty badly.
The flickering is tied to screen updates. If I'm looking at a static desktop
and I don't move the mouse, the screen appears fairly stable (still flickering,
but only ~ once per second). if I wiggle the mouse, it flickers faster, and
if I drag windows around, I get heavy flickering and tearing..

Before:
I was a NEW install of Dapper
I didn't install any package exepted the linux-image-generic for my processor

unofficial and Edgy repository.

It was a new installation.

[Bug 59867] Re: Synaptics touchpad ceases functioning after suspend and resume.

2006-10-22 Thread Joseph Slaker
This behavior is still present as of 2006-10-22 in my notebook.

Tim's report of similar behavior in an AMD/ATI based notebook makes me
wonder if it might be related to a specific touchpad model, since they
would seem to rule out any chipset related issues.

[Bug 44874] Re: auto smbfs mount in /etc/fstab causes hald hang at boot

2006-10-22 Thread Dennis Heinson
This sucks. Why does nobody take care of it? It just can't be that an
operating system aiming at taking market share away from Microsoft (Bug
#1) COMPLETELY STALLS if a network share is unavailable.

[Bug 67373] Re: Gnome-obex-server doesn't create required gconf files when installing on Dapper

2006-10-22 Thread Timothy Alexander
I can confirm this. It should, and does not create these Gconf files. As
it stands, I had to compile it from source, and this is when I found out
about this bug. It creates them in the vanilla version, but not in the
ubuntu version.

If you put these in manually, they function correctly, though for some
reason I can't use ~ in the gconf entry. If the Gconf entries are
entered with the Ubuntu package, they work as expected, though they must
be entered manually.

[Bug 67506] Crashes whole System on exit!!!

2006-10-22 Thread Dennis Heinson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org-bin

I really like OpenOffice, I do. Unbelievable though it is able to crash my
whole user interface When I quit Openoffice Writer:
No more GNOME X, no more Ctrl-Alt-Del, no more Ctrl-Alt-F1 to kill the task.
The system appears to keep running though, because an MP3 file I had running
kept on playing.

As I am new to Linux, how do I retrieve the necessary information for a
crash report? Download the openoffice developer packages? Where are the
crash reports filed?

[Bug 67507] Some image files are missing

2006-10-22 Thread Joonas Niilola
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ktip

When browsing through the tips I sometime see a grey box. After starting the
ktip application from terminal and going through all the tips I got these lines
in the terminal:
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/klipper.png
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/konqueror.png
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/konqueror.png
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/khelpcenter.png
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/khelpcenter.png
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/khelpcenter.png
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/konqueror.png
QTextImage: no mimesource for crystalsvg/48x48/apps/klipper.png

So at least these image files seem to be missing. I have Kubuntu Edgy
and KDE 3.5.5. This might not be KTip related since crystalsvg might be
widely used by KDE, but I noticed this when using KTip so I'm filing
this under it. I'm using Korilla as icon theme so that can't be the
reason.

(This is my first bug report. I didn't find anything related to ktip.
Don't hit me hard)

[Bug 67003] Re: Edgy: openoffice.org-l10n-ku is very outdated

2006-10-22 Thread Erdal Ronahi
Actually, it doesn't seem the problem that it's outdated, it's rather
the problem described in Bug#60570. However, the result is the same:

Very visible parts of the main menus looks untranslated.

[Bug 2253] Re: fpc needs bootstrapping on buildds

2006-10-22 Thread Adam Conrad
This has been done for i386, amd64, and sparc. I'd love it if someone
could poke into why powerpc explodes (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=362410) and then tap me on the shoulder to do PPC
as well, when they're sure it'll actually work.

Sorry for the delay, guys. :/

[Bug 60570] Re: Edgy, OOo 2.0.4: Localization, dissapearing menu strings

2006-10-22 Thread Erdal Ronahi
** Description changed:

- Hi, this time I have checked everything. There IS a bug.
+ Some very visible Kurdish translations done in Rosetta do not appear in
+ OpenOffice in Ubuntu (Dapper, Edgy). An example can be seen here, look
+ at the File menu and the Main menu bar:

  Look at the image http://static.flickr.com/86/243846966_0158e134dc_o.png

Some strings are untranslated although writer, common and commongui are
  definitely completely translated.

Furthermore, some menu strings disappear when the mouse points at them,
  like in the image.

This happens in all menus, but not to all strings. It more often happens
to the untranslated strings (which are in fact translated), but not
  only.

I think these bugs might be related, that's why I just filed one report.
