[Bug 70697] alternate install cd cannot mount /windows partition
Public bug reported: Using the alternate install cd for manual partitioning with raid partitions on 3 disks: 120 + 120 + 200 GiB -- 3*100 MiB raid1 /dev/md0 (ext2 - /boot) 3*1 GiB swap 3*119 GiB raid5 /dev/md1 (ext3 - /) All Linux partitions are formatted. [Bug 70711] Ubuntu 6.06 has 2.0.2 which crashes on signed documents
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org I asked this on the forums first and describes the issue: = I'm new to Ubuntu, but have a couple of years on Suse, and wanted to move my work to Ubuntu. Hit a problem immediately. 1. Installed 6.06 on a laptop, and AIUI that will be the one with long term support and the one most new users will see. It contains Ubuntu's version of OOo 2.0.2 2. First doc I tried to open crashed OOo, but the doc was digitally signed. Removed the signature, and it opened fine. 3. Looked around for an update to OOo 2.0.4, and found out how to convert rpms to debs and install with help from the OOo site. 4. Removed OOo 2.0.2 completely from laptop, installed 2.0.4 from OOo's site. 5. Docs now open fine. (And BTW the font wizard is there too so I can get reasonable looking docs from other people who stick to Times New Roman and Ariel.) Question: Can anyone confirm this behaviour? If so, it looks to me like a bug serious enough to warrant a request for a fix in Dapper. PS. You can find examples of signed docs at www.pepperdine.eclipse.co.uk/FOSS and look for the odt and odp versions. = The only reply suggested raising a bug report - hence this message. Please can we have an update on 6.06 LTS for OOo to 2.0.4. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Ubuntu 6.06 has 2.0.2 which crashes on signed documents https://launchpad.net/bugs/70711 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 70719] [ Wifi card Intel Pro 3945 ] - My wifi connection disappears after a while...
Public bug reported: Hello Edgy Eft updated from a Dapper Drake, on a brand new Asus S6J. For some weeks now, I noticed a curious bug with my wifi connection. I must reboot my computer in order to get it working again. My wireless card is an Intel Pro 3945ABG. I just use Gaim, Firefox and Rhythmbox (radio flux). This morning it was even worse: the connection flew away after just few minutes of connection. I had to reboot once again. I have no idea what is going on here. This causes problems with (Java) applications that connect to OpenOffice using Bootstrap.bootstrap() (for more information see the openoffice development guide). When such a program calls the bootstrap method two or more times in its lifetime an IllegalAccessError is thrown from java. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- one or more jars in the ubuntu package are outdated https://launchpad.net/bugs/70723 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 67120] Re: [KDE 3.5.5] Device labels are not correctly displayed on desktop
I have this problem, too. It's really sad... I was quite impressed when I installed Dapper (KDE 3.5.4, I think) and put a DVD in the drive. The DVD icon popped up (*not* the CD icon, like it does now), and the icon's label was BATMAN_BEGINS, not cdrom0. ** Changed in: kdebase (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- [KDE 3.5.5] Device labels are not correctly displayed on desktop https://launchpad.net/bugs/67120 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 70719] Re: [ Wifi card Intel Pro 3945 ] - My wifi connection disappears after a while...
A precision: the trouble occurs even when I'm not using the computer, for example when I let it open for few hours, then I come back and I notice that the connection is not here anymore (occured a few times, aMule was running, no suspend or hirbenating stuff was on). Of course, I too have the Edgy bug with the network-manager not detecting the wifi networks around me, but I managed to handle it (thanks to wifi-radar), and this bug (disappearing connection) is occuring just for one or two weeks now.
