[Bug 74362] usb wireless device gets stuck, requires reboot
Public bug reported: I'm using a Zydas based usb wireless device on Kubuntu Edgy. It works well. However, after a random period of time (between minutes and hours, more than once a day) the network simply dies. running lsusb (or kcontrol - usb devices) hangs, unplugging/replugging the USB device has no effect, and it seems as though the USB bus is dead. The only way to get it working again is a reboot - several time a day! I'm not sure what info may be relevant, so here's a guess (I'm a newbie, which unfortunately had to tinker with these things while trying to find a solution): It's the only connected USB device. [Bug 45722] Re: flashplugin-nonfree doesn't uses the proxy debconf key
This should be upgraded from Whishlist to Serious Bug and also be backported to dapper. The upgrade to flash 9 is hanging people's auto updates. People do not configure wget. They only configure synaptic because they want the updates and firefox because they want to surf. With flash 9 out now the update hangs for most people behind a proxy because the postinstall script cannot download the flashplayer from the web. In some cases (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=307383) hosing the apt cache. postinstall scripts (including wget when called from postinstall) should use apt's proxy configuration by default. A sysadmin setting a proxy for automatic updates but not for anything else (because the user isn't allowed to access the net for exampel) is a very reasonable assumption. -- flashplugin-nonfree doesn't uses the proxy debconf key https://launchpad.net/bugs/45722 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I also have this problem, it started after I moved my /home folder from one partition to another (I actually moved a lot of things). -- Trash always empty. https://launchpad.net/bugs/34247 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 65791] Re: DPMS timeout restored incorrectly on login
This (trapping xset) has already been done. https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/kde-guidance/+bug/65791/comments/10 It seems what is changing the setting is not using xset. -- DPMS timeout restored incorrectly on login https://launchpad.net/bugs/65791 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 66172] Re: No man page included and docs unsufficient
Yes, this is a geek tool; it's used as part of the build process for the installer. At present there's nothing based on this that you can use in a normal system to select a keymap. About the best you can do is boot a current Ubuntu alternate install CD, run through the keyboard detection stage, and see what keymap it says you have. -- No man page included and docs unsufficient https://launchpad.net/bugs/66172 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
