[Bug 81858] Re: Digg.com slows down the browser
I am having the same issue with Ubuntu 7.04. It used to work fine with Edgy, and started when I did a clean install of Feisty. Both Firefox and Epiphany have the exact same problems. Opening digg.com or linuxactionshow.com causes Firefox to slow down. Scrolling and opening menus becomes slow, and if I move a window over Firefox it redraws very slowly. But when I switch to another tab the speed is normal. Switching back to the slow tab causes a delay and Firefox slows down again. I have a ATI Radeon X300. Could this be related to the fact my old install used fglrx and now I have the open source ati driver? -- Digg.com slows down the browser https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/81858 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Since the bug happens when the computer is rebooted and dissapears on the running system when hot-pluging-in the keyboard, I guess that it could be a kind of initialization problem during the bootup process. -- some keys on my generic USB keyboard do not work properly ufter upgrading from kubuntu 6.10 to 7.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108192 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 108156] Re: Wishlist: Check integrity of files after Ubuntu has been installed
** Description changed: Binary package hint: ubiquity I'm not sure if this is already programmed into the Installation process and I know nothing about programming or scripting. A thorough checking process could be initialised after Ubuntu has been installed. That is: it checks the integrity of the files and sees if the files are corrupted or if all the components have been installed properly. If the files fail the integrity check, Ubuntu tries to reformat and run the installation process again. + (Edit: Also, an afterthought. Could this matter be related to the cd-rom + drive trying to read the cd as fast as possible? Perhaps if so, the + developers could force the cd to be read at only a certain speed and + below? That is: detect the cd-rom drive read rate and force it to read + the cd around 3/4 of its' read speed.) + This is because I was unfortunate enough to get a corrupted installation (my first time installing Ubuntu, even!) and had to reinstall the operating system. [Bug 93415] Re: Totem cannot play ASF Video
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 80342 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80342 Well, the annoyance is that possibly no one can view any videos taken by a camera bought by ALDI, Germans largest discounter. At least not my mother, who is sad that she can't watch their grandchilds. Opening a command line, cd'ing to the right directory and using mplayer is no workaround for her (too complicated). I tried to associate .ASF with mplayer through Gnome, but this does not work either (hangs, too). [Bug 106691] Re: nvidia-glx drivers with compiz/beryl enabled: if the gnome-panel at the top is not set to expand, then there's glitchness
If you are getting the nvidia module via the Fesity repos then that's not going to invalidate this bug. I'm not quite sure as to where this bug should go If it is reproducible with the open source nv driver on a single monitor then I would guess its a xorg bug otherwise it is most likely a bug in the nvidia binary driver. It seems you have configured this with the binary nvidia driver. Can you do sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg from the command line and choose 'nv' driver instead.
