I downloaded the source of the rt2500 package shipped with ubuntu and reading the diff file I noticed that it was patched to use eth0 as the default device name, while the driver uses the standard device name ra0. thus the error. it is not necessary to recompile the utility, just sudo vi /etc/rt2x00.conf put a single line with ra0 in the file and save now it works. -- RaConfig does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103573 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Till, thank you for the excellent detail about this issue. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. [Bug 68020] Re: Azureus crashes just after startup (attempt to show sliding notification window)
I will be running Azureus semi-headless by using a VNC X server on my fileserver. I've had trouble getting Azureus running on it regardless of which JVM I've tried (though I was going between Sun Java 6 and GCJ's). After watching the messages, I decided to try something different. Run Azureus on one computer while displaying it on another. Here are my results: Ubuntu Feisty machine: vnc4server + Azureus + Sun Java 6 (all on above server) == Crash at some point or another. Ubuntu Feisty machine + Debian Sarge machine with bits of Sid: (vnc4server on Debian machine) + (Azureus and Sun Java 6 on Ubuntu machine as above) == Solidly fires right up and works. This seems to apply both to the Ubuntu-packaged and upstream versions of Azureus. I downloaded smallish file and it worked just fine. However, I haven't tried running long torrents on this machine since it has a very small hard drive in it (4GB) to test reliability as all the big drives I intend to use with this install are in the Debian machine. Nor have I tried to run it displaying on a real X server since this machine will never be running one to begin with once it's in production mode. Further, the working setup is a suboptimal setup because I'm fully intent on decommissioning the Debian install in favor of the Ubuntu install by moving it into the box which is presently running the Debian install. --Ian. -- Azureus crashes just after startup (attempt to show sliding notification window) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/68020 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 63090] Re: do not eject all USB/Firewire devices
Please, if you want to shout, do it in a forum. A bug report is meant to be just that: a report. Comments should be adding new information or discussing a fix. It bites me too, but please relax and let the developers do their job. It's far easier for them if they don't have to filter the comments in a report. Otherwise, the more popular ubuntu becomes, the more difficult it will be to get things done. For example, this bug report has already 10 duplicates. That means, no insult intended, ten people who discovered the same problem, felt they had to report about it, but failed to scan launchpad for a similar report. -- do not eject all USB/Firewire devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/63090 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, For the problem, I fixed it yesterday with the help of the program envy ( http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html) I'm at my work now, so I will send you the files when I'm back home. [Bug 108189] Re: files list file for package `*' is missing final newline
Your list file is almost completely correct, the end however is missing. If you know xml you can try to fix it by adding the end tags. (try opening it in firefox after renaming the extention to .xml) But you can never be sure if you need to add just the closing tags, or if there's more information missing. -- files list file for package `*' is missing final newline https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108189 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for your bug report. I suspect I might be able to add something and help clarify the problem. When I resume after hibernating overnight a small warning pops up saying that hibernation failed when in fact it worked successfully. This warning make a mention of HAL. Also in my ~/.xsession-errors there is the following: ** (gnome-session:13603): WARNING **: Couldn't connect to PowerManager Method invoked for Hibernate returned FALSE but did not set error I am using an NVIDIA card with the nvidia-glx-legacy drivers with the NvAGP option set to 1. The upgrade tool just froze on my Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop. It took 3 attempts to get the latest release of Feisty onto the laptop (fresh install as the upgrade was completely broken). There appear to be a lot of missing instructions (I'm not referring to using F6 to get to what we were all used to) during install to guide the installation correctly (maybe a little too automatic?). This PC is an Asus P4 Terminator 533 c/w 40GB and 80GB drives and 512MB mem. Based on the fact the latest release finally worked on the laptop (albeit with the help of a cup of coffee - for the laptop!) , I risked the install on the Asus. Hmmm. Ok, let me reboot (and pray like it's going out of fashion the PC can run on the limp Feisty now installed!). [Bug 85488] Re: Canon Lide25 (plustek backend) scanner does not scan via gui
I have the same problems and resolved it just by booting with the latest but one kernel that was automatically installed during the update from Edgy to Feisty. Obviously, the latest but one kerne was not compiled with the USB_SUSPEND-option. Now my Lide 20 works fine again. If you do not need a kernel feature that is only available in the latest kernel, just boot the latest but one distributed by Ubuntu - no need to recompile your own kernel.
