okay i FINALlY got 2.6.22-14-generic installed However it ran fast on
the CD but not on this upgrade :( the drives DID INDEED change from SCSI
ones to back to HDA and when running hdparm -t /dev/hda1 it shows

After running those I popped a card into the slot and it mounted with no hassle.

source ~/.bashrc, they aren't acted on. If I set -x and then source it,
the bash_completion is basically the last call:

The restricted module is definitely broken. Normally I can get two
separate screens next to each other with full DRI performance. If I
enable Xinerama then it uses the mesa drivers with slower performance.

Er... not Feisty, I meant Gutsy, of course.
After some experimentation I figured that the easiest workaround is to
hit a right (or left) arrow key to deselect the date text in the field
before tabbing out of the field. If I do that, the date does not vanish.
