If you did not have this problem in feisty, you can remove the kdesudo package,
to change back to the real 'kdesu'.
'sudo dpkg -P kdesudo' in a konsole.
While kdesu have some issues that kdesudo address,
no :1.log, which is strange. I've also uninstalled compiz (apt-get
uninstall compiz) and that hasn't made much difference.

is working as it should, it never accesses files in ~/.kde, but only
in /root/.kde. So mounting your home file system with root_squash
should not be an issue if kdesudo is working correctly.

I think this issue has popped up again. Either it is a problem in the
documentation, or a problem with update-java-alternatives binary itself.
This is the output I get when using that command on Gutsy.

it still does the same with xpdf.

i just restarted my x server and nautilus was hanging/cunsuming one of
my cores. the nautilus-debug-log.txt file was filled with this
