I have the same problem in ununtu gutsy, I have the nvidia2 chipset
also. Is there no fix to this problem? I really need usb2.0 to use
linux, im thinkin of going back to windows or giving suse a whirl. I
never had this problem in earlier versions of ubuntu. When I terminate

The way I read this is you had a Java Plugin in Firefox installed,
somehow without Firefox, perhaps by forcing it. When trying to install
Firefox it got confused. You might be able to fix it by uninstalling
Java and then installing Firefox first.

this thread. My Linux box has been crashing with 3D stuff so many

Just tried again with image created today (12/13 image), and I found
that on C0, the dialog would pop up maybe 10 minutes after I click the
"preferences" in the menu. So the dialog should be able to pop up even
on C0, but needs a very very long time :(
