[Bug 162740] Re: blender-bin crashed with SIGSEGV when starting it (DRI related)
Well, the update is a bit harder. In summary: I don't have that with latest Hardy on 64 bits. Longer info: -When I reported this I was using x86-32 Hardy -I had discovered that if I was deactivating DRI (in /etc/X11/xorg.conf I presume), then I was able to open Blender without problem I then installed Gutsy, and found that blender was working fine. I then try Hardy alpha-2 64 bits CD, and before installing anything, managed to install blender and found that it was segfaulting like I was expecting. So I then install the system (I had kept space on HD for that), then upgraded the system. And now, I just installed blender and launched it hoping to be able to give you newest info with segfaults, but to my surprise blender now works fine. I am running: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a Linux Arcturus 2.6.24-3-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 3 22:50:33 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux I think I have 2.6.24-2 in my boot. [Bug 178424] Re: Please sync octave3.0 3.0.0-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
First the disclaimer that I am not an Octave user and doesn't know about Debian's octave packaging. Looking at the installed file list, yes, they seem to be installable in parallel. However, Debian maintainers never intended to support (in a stable release sense) both octave2.9 and octave3.0, they filed the Request for Removal bug for octave2.9 the same day octave3.0 enters unstable. My upgrade path comment is mainly about the octave meta-package. Now both unstable and hardy's octave depends on octave2.9. With octave3.0 installed, you need to use octave3.0 command to invoke the 3.0 version. To make my position clear: I am all for including octave 3.0 in hardy, however to sync the unstable package as is doesn't seem to be an adequate, or even correct solution. [Bug 136529] Re: Can't log in after upgrading
Oh well, it seems my problem regarding the not-starting GNOME session is only the tip of the iceberg. Remember you told me to remove gdm from being automatically started at boot time jtholmes? Well, I did this yesterday and after it didn't work out the way it should, I restored the settings with update-rc.d gdm defaults. Afterwards I didn't boot the kernel 2.6.24-3 anymore - until now. It seems that the running order of the programs at boot time has changed now (which isn't a problem at all) and now cupsys gets loaded before gdm. That shouldn't be a problem, only that now my systems stops booting when trying to load cupsys and GDM doesn't show up anymore. So I switched to a console, only to find out that the cups daemons are obviously running, but so is also the S20cupsys script (which should have long exited by now). Okay, I thought that maybe it's all the fault of the printer service and deactivated it (via update-rc.d -f cupsys remove) and rebooted my machine. GDM started up then, I logged in - and still the GNOME session just stops loading after a few seconds. So I switched to a console, did ps -e - only to see that now the NFS autostart script (S20nfs-kernel-service) stopped responding. The nfsd daemons were loaded, but the script didn't exit. So I also deactivated nfs, only to see that after a reboot it showed the same behaviour with the Samba daemons. And now I'm really at a loss here. To me it seems that the system just doesn't boot completely and maybe that's exactly the problem with my not-starting GNOME session. I don't know for sure though - for that I'm just too unexperienced. -- Can't log in after upgrading https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136529 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 181420] Re: evolution
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 178543] Re: i965 fails to render textures in 3D programs when DRI enabled
Unfortunately, I can't test this against Hardy as I don't have the bandwidth to download it. I did try compiling the 2.2 drivers from source under Gutsy, together with Mesa 7.1. This partially fixed the problem, although its starting to look like Mesa may be the culprit. Textures were rendered correctly in Mafia and Foobillard with this combination but OGRE and Blender failed to start due to failure to load some GL extentions - that sounds like Mesa's fault. -- i965 fails to render textures in 3D programs when DRI enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178543 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 52866] Re: SOAP response for associative array is different on ubuntu 6.06
Hi, I can confirm the bug also. We have verified it with a setup of one dev system (non-Ubuntu, latest PHP) calling a 6.06 LTS and failing, but also two 6.06 LTS Ubuntu servers trying to call each other, but failing exactly because of the problem described above. This seems to effectively break SOAP calls and therefor should be rated a serious bug. As 6.06 LTS is supported until 2011 waiting for the next LTS seems not to be an option. Kind regards, Bernd. -- SOAP response for associative array is different on ubuntu 6.06 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/52866 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
