[Bug 197633] Re: epiphany is not listed in the preferred application choices
Hi, Thanks for the extra info. I think there are two possible fixes for this issue. The problem is the g-c-c checks for epiphany in the path. This is a shell script shipped by the epiphany-browser package that just execs epiphany-browser. That is an alternative provided by both -gecko and -webkit. This means that you can have a valid epiphany installed, but not have epiphany in the path. The two fixes I see are: 1) Switch epiphany to use epiphany for the alternative, and not install the shell script. 2) Switch g-c-c to check for and use epiphany-browser for epiphany. I'm assigning this bug to both packages so that the maintainers can come to an agreement. Re: [Bug 197772] Re: compiz ring switcher doesn't work for all workspaces
Thanks for the reply :) It seems I've been using desktops rather than viewports. There appears to be some conflict between compiz / beryl / gtk-window-decorator (I'm quite new to all this). I've changed the number of workspaces in the GL desktop panel back to 1, then I was able to increase the number of viewports by right clicking on the workspace switcher. It's a bit of a mix-up actually, because I was having problems with original desktop effects (I was losing window bars when I turned them on, and could not find a solution on the forums), so I installed emerald, but then added the 'gtk-window-decorator --replace' command to the session manager, because that got me the original window decorations back AND I could also use the desktop effects without losing window bars. The problem is when I now want to start the GL desktop panel, the window bars switch back to emerald, and I have to execute the gtk-window-decorator --replace command again before the GL desktop can be launched. Also, when I do this, the viewports are back to 1 again. It looks like GL desktop overrides the original workspaces settings. I suppose I've made a bit of a mess here :) Travis Watkins pisze: Are you actually using workspaces (virtual desktops) or do you use viewports? Using virtual desktops is not supported, you need to use viewports. [Bug 197911] [NEW] Multiple Software Security Device popups
Public bug reported: Hi. I'm running Debian Testing, and normally use their iceweasel package (based on ff 2.x). However, that can be agonizingly slow with javascript on Gmail (around 90% CPU usage for a single open google chat window, on a 3.0 ghz Celeron CPU). So I'm trying ff3 instead, from Ubuntu. The javascript handling is said to be much faster. I've noticed several problems in firefox-3.0 so far: 1) I'm behind an authenticating web proxy. When I start firefox-3.0, it wants to log into several places simulataneously (check for add-on updates, re-open previous tabs, etc), it needs to first prompt me for my Software Security Device password. Firefox-3.0 spams me with 20-30 password boxes, instead of all the other processes waiting for the 1st password box to finish. Debian Iceweasel (Testing) doesn't have this problem. 2) In Gmail, chat popup windows don't have a nickname at the top (whoever you're chatting to). There's just a Iceweasel doesn't have this problem. I altered the cgi for English versus Metric units, and scaling the barometric pressure readings for English units in Inches of Mercury. As it was, pressure reading graphs ranged from 0 to 40 in.Hg, whereas global historical records indicate 25.6 to 32.01 as the practical range, so I rescaled as 25 to 32, which displays as 20 to 40, doubling the sensitivity of the graph. Hopefully something in my tbz2 file will help the developers, though I may have hacked something wrong in the process, at least it works now. [Bug 193985] Re: jockey-kde crashed with AttributeError in ui_main_loop()
Thanks, James, but calling ui_init() in check is the wrong way to fix it IMHO with the current code structure, since ui_init() will bring up the main window. But --check should just keep the tray icon alive and process events there. In gtk this can be achieved with gtk.main(). Does Qt have a similar 'static' function? If not, can we change ui_main_loop() to check for an initialized mw first, and if that does not exist, run some exec() function on the tray icon instead? If that is not suitable for the Qt implementation, I could also split ui_init() into ui_init() and ui_show_main() upstream, if that's better? -- jockey-kde crashed with AttributeError in ui_main_loop() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/193985 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
