I was trying to perform a desktop LTS - to - desktop LTS upgrade and

But the problem still exists for people who just install this extension
from OOo site. Nothing alerts them that this particular extension will
not work ... As Ubuntu "refuses" to work with standard extension, Ubuntu

tested it yesterday and it caused a kernel panic on my gutsy. It was only
because I could use recovery mode to login as root and delete the driver again

Fakeraid support for raid 5 seems to be missing in the latest kernel;
the daily build (as of 4/21/08) of the Hardy liveCD would not work.
I enabled the universe repository and used the following commands after
booting the live-cd on my system with built-in Nvidia fakeraid.

FIXED IT, Clean Install of Hardy, Install ndiswrapper common and
utilities off my old Gutsy CD and instant success. reboot it connects
automatically. The problem is how the new ndiswrapper works with Hardy
nothing else.

Well, this lost my update manager completely. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 with kernel
2.6.25.

Stand by never worked in Ubuntu, regardless which edition (for ex. never worked

When issuing Stand by command the system does not shutdown properly - HDD is

I kinda narrowed it down. It seems as if I ( i have 4pci slots) remove
one of the three pci cards either my kworld high definition tuner,
avermedia stereo, or my audigy, it boots up fine. Even trying to force
pci and irq in bios does not allow ubuntu to boot. I recently
