dmesg|grep snd provides no output on my computer. Sound works fine with

properly set. From here, I do not know what the problem might be. For me, xsane
worked fine when reaching this point.

I tried upgrading to 8.04, but that did not change the problem. I decided to
do a clean install.
When I installed Ubuntu 8.04 with clean install I have not had the issue

The filesystem was FAT32. Unfortunately I cannot provide anymore
information as the HD was reformatted and Ubuntu 8.0.4 which
reinstalled fine.

Cheese is updated from 2.22.3-0ubuntu1 to 2.22.3-0ubuntu1.1. Now it's
improved and videos can be saved. But it takes more than 1 minutes to
stop recording after "stop" is clicked and user can no longer start
recording after that until cheese is restarted.

Immediately after posting (that above) installed ENVY and the newest 104.xx
Nvidia drivers.
This has fixed that fault, and Compiz seems to be working correctly. I am not

When returning from hibernation, the Openoffice Impress becomes slow.
One indication is that there is a delay of a few seconds when selecting
a new slide from the Slide Pane. When I restart Openoffice, it again
becomes responsive.

I made an interesting observation here. Aircard creates three USB serial
ports when its driver gets loaded by the kernel.
/dev/ttyUSB1 does not work with any of the AT commands at all (returns
nothing)
/dev/ttyUSB2 seems to work fully and gives the following output:

I've Install Kubuntu using the LiveCD but can not get to boot in to the
