When I started my notebook looking at the log entries I saw something like:
resolvconf: unable to remove (...)/eth1/resolv.conf. File system read only.
This entry does not appear in dmesg and syslog. But the behaviour is

Sorry - I don't think this is a bug after all. I had deleted the entire
/etc/samba folder thinking that a re-install would recreate it but it

I've seen bug #191004 . It seems that other users are trying to upgrade
from feisty to a more recent version of Ubuntu, and they are facing the
problem pointed out by Savvas Radevic. For this reason I'd like to say
that, in my opinion, this proposal could be extremely useful.

The same problem here with Kubuntu 8.10.
Suspend to Ram works quite fast (even faster than with 8.04), but after restart
network-manager isn't able to connect to my wlan any longer.
Additionally kde warns about a problem with kbluetoothd and the
bluetooth icon in the control bar disapears.

Installed xubuntu 8.10 on my laptop over the weekend and it has the same
issue. Mouse movement alone doesn't keep the screen saver from
activating and once activated the screen saver won't turn off with mouse
movement either. Once the monitor shuts itself off then mouse movement

Tried this night without virtio block device drivers (only standard
qemu), same problem. In the moment where the disk IO is too much, all
the guest kernels are getting problems.
This morning I had to restart all guests.

I'm not very expert of ubuntu/debian sync, but looking at pidgin source
changelog (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin) I've seen that
1:2.5.3-0ubuntu1 and 1:2.5.3-0ubuntu2 haven't any Ubuntu specific
patch...so is it possible do an automatic sync to 2.5.4 or the newest

A new upstream version (0.83.x) of Sugar just landed in jaunty, so we
need to retest on that. There might be other issues that we need to fix
first.

I reported that the problem was gone for me but I discovered recently
that it's not entirely gone. I don't have busybox anymore as long as I
don't attach additional SATA drive. When I attach the SATA drive (third
HDD in my system) then it's busybox again and sometimes writing exit and
hitting
