I'm having the same issue with Intrepid. Before installing Intrepid, I
manually installed FF 3 and never had an issue, so it's possible that
this has something to do with the Ubuntu version.

This version of driver adds support for the AMD SB800
Family series of products. Major changes include the
changes to addressing the SMBUS registers at different

In the Services window, the checkbox corresponding to sysklogd is checked, I
even tried unchecking & checking the box again. I am not sure how to see if
that service is running.
I checked the process list 'ps aux | grep sysklogd', but it doesn't show
anything. So I guess the service is not getting

I have this same problem on jaunty, but I think its more related to
gnome-terminal than minicom. When I ssh into a debian/sid machine and
run minicom, the same thing happens.

I finally got suspend to ram and suspend to disk working. For suspend to
ram, read above. for suspend to disk, I needed to add yet another kernel
parameter "resume=/path/to/swap". Now. Just like above, the kickoff

I have a ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 SE and have the same problems.
Jaunty can't run fglrx.
fglrx BREAK ubuntu, the open source driver not have enough power.
This need to be fixed before 9.04!! Go ATI release your new drivers such
as open source!!
