[Bug 358652] Re: Error during mysql slave replication

2009-04-12 Thread Mariusz Kielpinski
** Description changed:

After upgrading to jaunty I have problem with replication system in
mysql. After every system reboot I have to issue RESET SLAVE; START
SLAVE; command to continue this to work. The reason for that is fact
that relays log have higher index number than number stored in mysqld-
relay-bin.index. These two command simply reset that. What is even more
interesting /etc/init.d/mysql restart doesn't generate mentioned
  problem.

  Description:Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)
  Release:9.04

  mysql-server-5.0 5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10

[Bug 269492] Re: iSCSI support (modules and configuration) missing from initramfs

2009-04-12 Thread malaiwah
On jaunty, I had success with these steps, done BEFORE rebooting into my
new installation. The key is creating the file
/etc/iscsi/iscsi.initramfs and rebuilding the init ram disk.

Here are my notes:

BEFORE REBOOT, ON TARGET [chroot /target /bin/bash]
apt-get update
apt-get install open-iscsi
remove dhcp from /etc/network/interfaces for eth0 (already configured via
initramfs)
verify all /etc/iscsi/iscsid.conf parameters
edit /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/iscsi: iscsistart is really in /sbin
(copy_exec)
add sleep 2 to iscsi script
(/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/iscsi) just before
configure_networking for my via-rhine card
nano /etc/iscsi/iscsi.initramfs: (ISCSI_TARGET_NAME=iqn.blahblah,
ISCSI_TARGET_IP=192.168.15.x)
apt-get dist-upgrade
dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-2.6.28-11-server (if kernel not upgraded in
dist-upgrade)

Tried again on Jaunty (9.04) and it works fine.
a) No problems about the partition part of the installer
b) touch /etc/iscsi/iscsi.initramfs and all the iscsi initramfs hooks are there.

[Bug 300782] Re: Cannot route through secondary connections

2009-04-12 Thread aesis05401
From reading the above I believe this report can safely be expired. If
not, then:

This report covers three different issues - the failed installation of
an OS, an interface issue, and the networking issue.

I am marking this report 'Invalid,' for the time being. This does not
mean the reported issues are not happening, but that this report cannot
be addressed in current form.

For best results please focus on one issue per report.

Thanks.

[Bug 34247] Re: Trash always empty.

2009-04-12 Thread muhalifsirin
I have a similar issue here on Jaunty. i did not have it till yesterday,
but today, I got the problem.

When I delete something on my home folder, I can not see them in
trash(trash:///), but when I check ~/.local/share/Trash/files I see
those deleted files appear there.

This is a really annoying bug,Trash is a simple function that any
convenient OS must offer without hassle. It is strange in three years
this issue has not been solved and no solution or work around is
offered.

Well, what I mean is that first we need to give feedback on the
submitted themes, currently I realize that those who give feedback are
5 at MOST ! Where are the others ?

Then we can do polls about which theme to include, and which would be
  the default for next release.

As for the polls, well, I think the others here also should give their
  opinion about:
  1. Wether it is for registered or all (personally I think anyone
registered in Launchpad or sabily.org can vote).

  2. Multi or single selection (I would go for multi selection)

[Bug 321927] Re: /dev/pts and /dev/shm not mounted on boot

I currently see that requested information has been provided; setting to

A comment: Could this be a race condition? There has been speedups in
Jaunty's boot process, and this blueprint (

about when to mount /dev/pts, and that udev has become multithreaded.

[Bug 34247] Re: Trash always empty.

2009-04-12 Thread muhalifsirin
Ok, now it is getting worse. Nautilus tells me that my trash folder is
empty (not trash:///, which always look empty- I am talking about
~/.local/share/Trash/files)

But then I check it form terminal and I see it is not empty. Moreover
bautilus itself tells me that folder is 300 mb(but magically contains no
files!!!). This is really driving me crazy now.

[Bug 359883] [NEW] rtl8187b does not work with ipv6 enabled

2009-04-12 Thread mclaud2000
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 8.10, both 32 and 64 bit editions, using a Realtek rtl8187b
usb device (0bda:8189), the adapter associates and establishes a
connection with the router fine, but after a few seconds stops working.

Checking the syslog I found that the adapter stops working the exact
moment an ipv6 address is assigned to it. Blacklisting the ipv6 module
solves the problem, however, ipv6 support is obviously lost, which is a
tad inconvenient.

Using the same device in Ubuntu 8.10 32 bit with the Microsoft Windows
driver (using ndiswrapper) works fine, including ipv6 support.

So I guess it is a bug in the rtl8187b linux driver.

[Bug 34247] Re: Trash always empty.

2009-04-12 Thread muhalifsirin
So here is I reproduce this bug:

1-Delete an item, (use delete key, drag and drop an item into a trash
icon-desktop-applet..etc, or drag and drop the item into an open trash:///
folder ; does not matter)
2- Item disappears
3-But the trash folder still (trash:///) looks empty
4-Search for the deleted item via PlacesSearch from the menu
5-You find the item in ~/.local/share/Trash/files (not surprisingly)
6-Check the specified folder using Nautilus, but it looks empty
7-Check it using Terminal, it is not empty. Also Nautilus itself tells you that
the folder is not zero bytes, it is 300 mbs(I checked the folder for hidden
items as well)

[Bug 314389] Re: Jaunty: X windows hang after a short while -- seems to be DRI related

2009-04-12 Thread Wladimir Mutel
With all today updates of Jaunty (kernel, xorg, xorg drivers, KUbuntu KDE4,
everything other that arrives through aptitude dist-upgrade, and a fresh
reboot), the bug still persists.
My computer is ASUS Z99Le notebook with A8Le motheboard and Intel Mobile
GM965/GL960 video controller.
The video driver is autodetected as intel.
To reproduce the bug, it is enough to run GoogleEarth (it is OpenGL application
if I understand correctly) for about 5 minutes and exit it, and then the
graphics and keyboard freeze very soon (after 5..10 minutes of using some other
apps like Seamonkey/Pidgin/Skype/Konsole), leaving only the mouse pointer
moving.
It is still possible to log into the system by network (and see these SIGLARMs
in X by strace/ltrace).
As I understand, at this time, the X server is trying to do ioctls on the file
descriptor opened for /dev/dri/card0 and getting SIGALRMs in response.
But killing the X server and hoping for kdm to restart it does not help - I
have to do full reboot of the system to restore proper graphics operation.

[Bug 210725] Re: Please include RaLink RT2860 driver

2009-04-12 Thread Michael Schurter
rt2860 not working in Jaunty using standard kernel linux-
image-2.6.28-11-generic version 2.6.28-11.41

Tried installing Stephane's ppa2 packages on a whim, rebooted, and still
nothing.

Is there anything else I should try? Any way I can help? The comment
thread is kind of epic, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what the
current state is in Jaunty.

2009-04-12 Thread dysmann
NetworkManager freezes my system while connecting to my network (not

[Bug 247733] Re: NFS mount in hardy does not recognise the option map_static

2009-04-12 Thread Nadim
I'm seeing the same problem as well. I started with the following line
in fstab:

server:/dir localdir nfs rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr

I was having permissions problems, because the UIDs on the two machines
were not the same. This resulted in an error of the form:

mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting server:/dir

So, I created a map file, and changed the line to:

server:/dir localdir nfs rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr,
map_static=/root/nfs_static.map

Then, a sudo mount localdir command results in:

mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified

I'm looking for some sort of solution that doesn't involve changing the
UIDs on either of the two machines.

[Bug 359881] Re: Main inclusion request for odt2txt

2009-04-12 Thread Kees Cook
This has an embedded unzipping library (kunzip/*). I would be happier
if it could be ported to libzip instead. Since this is only a
Recommends, if porting to libzip is not possible, I would rather that
tracker move it to a Suggests. Outside of that, the code seems fairly
defensive when handling the odt data, so I would approve it after the
libzip porting.

[Bug 359593] Re: 2.6.28-3-rt fails to boot with dmraid

2009-04-12 Thread danwood76
Sounds like a kernel issue.

Make sure the the initramfs is built properly by running:
sudo update-initramfs -u -k all

Will test the rt kernels later.
I did build my own rt 2.6.29 and had no issues so its probably an issue with
the rt kernel, I would post a bug against that.

[Bug 346289] Re: Choppy Flash playback in full screen.

2009-04-12 Thread Gannin
I have this same problem in Ubuntu 8.10. I have the latest version of
Flash and the nVidia driver installed, and I have an nVidia 8600GT card.
I'm not using Compiz. Full screen videos from YouTube, Hulu, and South
Park are all jerky. The above workaround for trying to force hardware
acceleration doesn't do anything for me. The only thing I've found that
works so far is to keep switching back and forth and back and forth
between full screen and windowed mode, and if you do that enough times,
eventually one of the times you switch to full screen it'll start
running smoothly like it should.

[Bug 322769] Re: it is not possible to write with the current set of plugins

2009-04-12 Thread Luke Carrier
Debug log, generated using sudo brasero --debug
/home/hannah/debug.txt. Ran with sudo to see if this solved it,
thinking maybe the user didn't have permissions to access a specific
library or device. Hope this helps; we've been having the same problem
trying to burn a few AVI's onto a DVD.

Your problem is caused by using the medibuntu repository, not Ubuntu, so
you'd have to file a bug with them. I guess that's why the report is
filed as invalid here.

[Bug 359631] Re: X11 mouse theme does not apply

2009-04-12 Thread Charles Dumont
Ok, i made some more tests:

i didn't fiddle anything: no installing theme, no deleting theme, so just
trying to change from a preinstalled one to another.
i saw more details:
when the cursors theme might be changed (manually or via another whole theme)
nothing seems to have been changed. then i restart my session: it's changed !...
