This bug sucks.
Since more than three years the Ubuntu users can't burn correctly. Are we
supposed that a user does not need to burn DVDs?
Ubuntu (and its derivatives) is the only one that has this bug.

Apparently when mounting with a user that does not exist in a system
fuse would create a virtual user for it instead?

It seems to me that gscan2pdf is trying to read the image before it has
been fully written.
scanimage was modified in 1.0.20 to buffer the image, and to write it
only when complete.

I have found the culprit! To me it looked like different solutions

thanks you for your work... i would be glad to help you...but i'm not able to
compile a custom kernel..once i tried,but ubuntu didn't start :D
if u need anything as for example installing a karmic alpha and sending logs or
jaunty or others..i'll be glad to do...those are things im able to do :)

Having similar issues resuming my HP CQ50 (cq50-210us) - just blank
screen w/mouse cursor. I did find this which seems to have resolved the
resume issue for me.

I did a dist-upgrade yesterday, and the notebook came up fine with 2.6.31-4,
and didn't freeze later on too.
