Dustin: I'm not sure that's a bug :) uec-component-listener watches for new announcements, so it won't re- register your node unless you stop and start the publication again (or restart the node)... which to me means that you want the node to be re- registered. It will also register your node again if you restart the uec-component-listener process. I think the classic use case is the following: You want to remove a node from your cluster. You will shutdown your node and unregister it. If you restart it and you have autoregistration enabled, for me it means you want it to be used again. Otherwise I don't see the point in restarting it. If you don't want node autoregistration to happen, you can disable it at the CC level. Using a blacklist would just prevent a specific IP address from being autoregistered ever again. I'm not sure why I would want that. I can only control the system through recovery modes root shell. I have just had this same problem, I think, installing 10.04 beta from 9.04. I believe that apport reported it twice today but those are anonymous as far as I can tell. I did try to save some other output data but looking at the report it appears that everything relevant is there. One symptom that may not show in the report - when dpkg tries to either install or remove mysql-server, the program 'start mysql' hangs This is also true of manually running 'service mysql start' (I think - I just ran manually again and it returned 'mysql is already running' ). As a result, dpkg never ends until I kill the start program, at which point dpkg will finish some things and then end with errors. Yes, the purpose of the 'winbind' package is to provide integration with a Windows domain or AD realm; that extends to enabling pam_winbind by default now that this is supported. Of course, any problems this causes for you being able to use your local system accounts is a bug. After a bit more testing, I've noticed some further subtleties. When I get a black screen (as opposed to the weird marbled one that gets brighter and brighter) on resume from suspend, I do in fact get a mouse cursor. What's more, the mouse switches to a text insertion I bar when I hover it over the spot where the password entry box should be displayed. Also, it doesn't seem the CPU is being loaded - no hot air blowing out. Finally, with the black screen I can switch to another TTY. Hi Mark, I request you to reconsider this decision. Most of the Ubuntu users are used to tooltips in the panel status indicators and this is what they would be expecting in lucid. Also, lucid is expected to be the best ubuntu release since Warty. Users of Ubuntu like me want it to be the best release in every way and I think that most of us would hate to see those golden tooltips go away. Lucid will also see many users migrating from Windows. All latest versions of Windows do have tooltips in icons in the tray, and such users would feel that Ubuntu is less matured when they would not find any tooltips in the panel indicators. And, there is the concern about LTS. Many corporate users are expected to stay on Lucid till 12.04 LTS comes out. Please do not remove the tooltips in this release! This doesn't help if I install MobilityClient again, but removing the file /etc/ld.so.conf.d/lmc.conf helped. Now kde4-config is linked to the proper libraries.
