[Bug 630028] [NEW] package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.37-1ubuntu5.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: I changed my socket setting for mysql to /var/lib/mysqld/mysqld.sock, and now automatic updates to mysql do not seem to function. I believe that the socket was set to /usr/bin originally, and I tried to change the location in order to install mysql, but the installation was unsuccessful. @Corona: I'm running a drm-intel kernel (2.6.36-rc2) with the patch you mention reverted. Works fine, including external monitors (in a somewhat brittle way, I would say). Card readers are not a high priority for me now - I go around with a small USB card reader. Suspend works with the acpi_sleep kernel option. [Bug 629910] Re: nvidia 256.53 xorg-server 1.9.0 performance regression with antialiased text
Yes I can confirm there is a regression issue with xserver 1.9 (at least up to 1.9.0-0ubuntu4) and nvidia-current (at least up to 256.53). This is most prominent when scrolling in some applications. I have found that synaptic is a very good example of this one. Scrolling is severely influenced there. With xserver 1.8 branch and nvidia-current 256.44 scrolling was very fluent: a big difference compared to xserver 1.8 branch with ati open source drivers (xserver-xorg-video-radeon). Now the open source ati drivers are clearly faster than nvidia-current_256.53 with xserver 1.9. But, for the time being I cannot say if this is a regression in xserver 1.9 or have certain codes changed in the new xserver so much, that nvidia drivers ought to be changed as well. At least it seems not to be a regression in nvidia-current, because the same driver (256.44) works very well with xserver 1.8, but not with xserver 1.9 (with IgnoreABI command). -- nvidia 256.53 xorg-server 1.9.0 performance regression with antialiased text https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/629910 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 571038] Re: palimpsest
Hi, I am the gentoo user that have this problem. This is my situation: I have 3 hard disk: WD 320 GB 2.5 Backup (connected directly on mainboard), WD Raptor 150GB Gentoo (connected through an Enermax Mobil Rack), Seagate 320GB 3.5 Win7(connected through an Enermax Mobil Rack). Now for high temperature I use only WDs because on Seagate I have only Windows 7. WD raptor has always been connect to a rack (the upper one), but I have tried to connect WD Raptor to the other one and automount works. So I decided to return to previous configuration and gives me no automount and same palimpsest error. Both rack are connect to the red Sata ports, while HDD Backup and DVD-RW to the black ones. [Bug 602175] Re: glib-compile-schemas trigger not run after installation GCalctool
For me, the workaround command fails with: No such schema `org.gnome.Empathy.conversation' specified in override file `/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/ubuntu-artwork.gschema.override' This is probably because I had uninstalled empathy before. After reinstalling empathy, `sudo glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas1` finishes successfully and gcalctool no longer crashes on startup. When I remove empathy again, the trigger runs and fails with the same message. I suppose removing adium-theme-ubuntu would fix this but it is a hard dependency of ubuntu-artwork which is a hard dependency of ubuntu- desktop, which is also used to help proper upgrades, so it is recommended that it not be removed (from package description). -- glib-compile-schemas trigger not run after installation GCalctool https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/602175 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
