[Bug 672720] Re: enabling crossfade causes song position slider to stop moving
I can confirm this on may 10.10 (amd64), Rhythmbox 0.13.1 I've tested in on two songs: The first song and when I play it this song continue to play on song change. (sometimes, not always) The slider freezes ((07:55:38) [0x181df60] [slider_moved_callback] rb-header.c:676: slider is not dragging) Next song is played in overlap, but with crunchy ticking noise in the background. (and when slider freezes) it's impossible to pause the song (it may be a different bug) if slider is not frozen you can pause the song and only the second one pauses. Whats interesting is that the first song still plays (with this crunchy ticking background noise), but debug output insists that tehe second one is played. Only entry in debug output that looks out of the place is: (07:40:01) [0xe86f60] [tick_cb] rb-shell-player.c:3582: got tick for unexpected entry 0x2828af0 (expected 0x7fa9342bc130) but I', not sure if it's helpful. Entry "0x2828af0" is the second song rhytmbox actually plays the next song: (07:40:04) [0x28b1000] [volume_changed_cb] rb-player-gst-xfade.c:946: stream file:///home/pawel/Music/Daine%20Lakaien/Deine%20Lakaien%20-%201993%20-%20Forest%20Enter%20Exit/Cd1/03%20-%20Mindmachine.mp3 fully faded in (at 1.00) -> PLAYING state but it's only noise in the background of the first song. Shortly after that the first ((07:40:05) [0xe86f60] [slider_moved_callback] rb-header.c:676: slider is not dragging) shows up. But shouldn't we hide the menu entry by default? [Bug 642830] Re: Google Calendar freezes Evolution
Hi, I faced the same problem on my Maverick Installation (it was an upgrade from Karmic->Lycid->Maverick). But I could fix it by simply deleting all (!) information on calendars in evolution (I recommend exporting all appointments before doing that). That is deleting the directories /home/$USER/.evolution/cache/calendar AND the directory /home/$USER/.evolution/calendar . Following Sumant's instruction I did erase all the information that evolution stored on calendars in gconf using the gconftool: gconftool --recursive-unset /apps/evolution/calendar and after some complaints after restarting evolution I am now able to use the calendar as smooth as I'm used to in Ubuntu! @Davide "Is there a way for reducing the area of the touchpad..." Yes, in fact my original patch disabled the button area just like Ubuntu 10.04. Assuming that you used Pauls instructions in post #61, try this: open /usr/src/psmouse-2.6.35-22-generic/src/synaptics.c with a text editor. search for and delete the following line: "if (hw->z > 77)". Enter the following commands into a terminal: sudo dkms build -m psmouse -v 2.6.35-22-generic sudo dkms install -m psmouse -v 2.6.35-22-generic sudo rmmod psmouse && sudo modprobe psmouse "This is really frustrating..." I agree. I think the problems that you described are due to issues in the xorg input synaptics driver. Hopefully they will be sorted out by Ubuntu 11.04. I use a 2 finger click for right click instead of the physical buttons which works very good. I have also gotten used to dragging by using the double tap-drag technique instead of click and drag. [Bug 386654] Re: Partman freezing at 52%, only in Czech version
/var/log/partman showed lines up to S35dump, then stopped. Another data point; the Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit graphical installer (normal ISO) appears to be working just fine. So perhaps installing the 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine is the problem, or perhaps it's specific to the alternate installer. Or perhaps it's the weird partitioning layout of the disk. I should also mention I'm using unetbootin to make the disks, though I'm not sure it matters. Please take this report seriously, as it's from a person who has eight Linux machines, has done kernel development, and is not usually troubled by simple matters that trip up noobs. Let me know if there's anything I can do to diagnose it for you. Also, another oddity; fdisk reports in blocks of 1024 bytes, not 512, and the graphical depiction of the amount of disk allocated to Ubuntu has been wrong in many different ways. Maybe it's something to do with the 250GB laptop drive, or maybe not. -- Partman freezing at 52%, only in Czech version https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386654 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 386654] Re: Partman freezing at 52%, only in Czech version
I'm hitting this on a brand new Asus EEE PC 1215n, in the alternate installer. I'm running off a USB drive (I've tried two). It looks like it's a freeze in partman. The exact steps I took involved deleting an empty NTFS partition - at which point partman stopped at 46%. Then I deleted a "hidden" NTFS (W95) partition used by Express Gate, and after that partman froze at 52%. Googling around, this appears to be a common problem, with reports in various Debian-derived distros since 8.04 or so. This is a particularly annoying problem. It did not affect my other, identical machine where I installed via Ubiquity (or whatever the normal installer is). -- Partman freezing at 52%, only in Czech version https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386654 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 363903] Re: Hugin gives an error when stitching..
Hi the 20MB project linked in the initial bug report is impossible to stitch with today's computers. You are trying to generate a 23 million gigapixel panorama. The world record is more than 100.000 times smaller [0]. Check your canvas size in the stitcher tab and try again. Moreover, stitching directly into stereographic from multiple source images is inefficient and may result in errors too. It is recommended to stitch first into an equirectangular image, then load that equirectangular and remap it to stereographic. Last but not least, when asking for help, post first the .pto file only. In most cases it is enough. Thank you for using Hugin. Make sure you use our latest version [1] as the software evolves rapidly. To test 2.30.3 in Lucid and 2.32.2 in Maverick, restart gwibber-service and gwibber. You should notice "Facebook" doesn't have a "Replies" stream anymore. [Bug 331241] Re: Hugin crashes with Segfault when manual triggering automatic creation of control points
yes, this is most likely because the command line is too long. the bug is known and has been fixed in Hugin, as well as in Autopano- SIFT-C v2.5.1 which can be downloaded at [0]. I don't think anybody will fix it in autopano-sift. [Bug 653021] Re: Mouse's left button stops working.
I'm having same problem. Flash completely kills my left button, also watching videos with VLC. Not sure if it's specific to my keyboard/mouse. [Bug 611014] Re: hugin crashed with SIGSEGV in XF86DRIQueryVersion()
Hi As one of the Hugin developers I build and run Hugin hundreds of times on my Ubuntu boxes. One of them as an ATI video card and I experienced a similar behavior using fglrx a few months ago. IIRC: * If fglrx was present at the time of build, running the binary on a system without fglrx will crash. Running it with fglrx will work well. * If fglrx was not present at the time of build running the binary on a system with fglrx will crash. Running it without fglrx will work well. that machine is currently out of order, so I can not test this specific case, but you can try building Hugin for yourself following the instructions at http://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_Compiling_Ubuntu Yuv -- hugin crashed with SIGSEGV in XF86DRIQueryVersion() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/611014 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 469691] Re: left mouse button randomly stops working in firefox, first noticed with flash but occurs on ajax too
Scratch that, the fix only fixes flash (as far as I can tell). [Bug 599697] Re: Documentation package is missing html sides
Hi, The source that we have right now in Ubuntu does not generate any other html documentation: only the first level is provided by upstream. This means that this bug report won't be fixed until we get a newer version from Debian. [Bug 323836] Re: [needs packaging] Package and use autopano-sift-c
Hi Fabrice, thanks for the feedback. About Hugin: I have good contact to the Debian packagers in Hugin and we'll get it done in time. I'll touch base with you in due time to make sure. About Autopano-SIFT-C > it's easier to post a clean version of your package strictly speaking it is not "my" package, and as a newbie I am not qualified to say if the package is clean. Can you? > clean means: > - only one entry in the changelog, closing the bug report, for natty you mean in debian/changelog? > - debian/copyright file reviewed understand. > - patch system if some modifications are required to upstream source AFAIK no modifications are required. When I build it locally, it works. > - watch file to download latest version what is a "watch file"? AFAIK the package linked is v2.5.1 which is the latest working version. v2.5.2 is a buggy work in progress and AFAIK from the community around Hugin nobody has been working at it actively for the last year. > As you are saying that a new free points detections tool is under > development, is it still useful to package autopano-sift-c? IMHO it is technically useful but the decision is more complex than a technicality. Technically, autopano-sift-c and cpfind, although both control point detectors, yield different results. One may work better in some situations and another may work better in others. There are others CP detecting algorithms as well and from a purely technical perspective putting as many of them in the user's toolbox is the Right Thing to do. Things become complex because there is at least one known patent on the SIFT algorithm that underlies autopano-sift-C (currently being discussed) and autopano-sift (mono implementation that has been distributed with Ubuntu for a few years now). Whoever distributes sift should IMHO seek legal advice in their jurisdiction. I assume whoever is responsible for autopano-sift being distributed with Ubuntu did so. At some point the SIFT patent will expire and everything will be Free, but until then the patent holder specifically states on their home page [0] that the code is provided for research purposes only and commercial users must seek a license. As you see, the decision is not an easy one, and it definitely not for me to make it. Yet another person who would really like to see this put back in, if only as modules that aren't loaded by default. padsp doesn't work for everything.
