cant try on same server atm, there are some virtual m$ servers, which are in

Well, just installed ubuntu 10.10 guest on the 10.10 host on my laptop
and i see the same problem. its fresh install and all i've done just run
apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade and the flush-252:0 process
started to use from 12% upto 100% of cpu.
any ideas?

Indeed, looking at the lucid source, I see that the post_install() calls
the execscripts before the --only-chroot checks, whereas
hypervisor.py:install_os(), which installs the bootloader, gets called
after.
I assume it's there for a reason so don't want to blindly move it.

Actually I was using virt-manager so I'm not sure what it runs on the
command line. It was a PXE boot to the squeeze 32bit netboot kernel/initrd.
I can provide the XML if that helps...otherwise, what's the best way to

hostname on my Lucid ec2 instance:

Now since my cluster filesystem starts real early in the bootup (S20) I
need the hostname to be set correctly even earlier.
So that would probably require some upstart job to run at S10.
So now I need to see how cloud-init is doing this and if it is early in
the bootup.

For me the problem was in ALSA, snd-hda-intel module.
$ modinfo snd-hda-intel | grep beep
parm: beep_mode:Select HDA Beep registration mode (0=off, 1=on,

Will it work well if I install the OS? In previous versions of Ubuntu as
well I faced issues with fglrx. I have ATI Radeon HD 5670 and after
downloading the latest binary drivers from AMD/ATI site it used to
1) gir1.2-mutter-2.31 is not present in previous release, this will have
an impact on people that have installed this package during the
development phase of natty, so I guess this is not a lot of persons.
2) This has been replaced by
DEB_DH_MAKESHLIBS_ARGS_libmutter-private0 += -V -- -c4
which
