[Bug 418242] Re: Incorrect call to output plugins (with persistent error message) on copy

2011-02-27 Thread zapyon
Hi.

Same problem here with Inkscape 0.4 r22583 built Mar 12 2010, and xfce4
-clipman-plugin 1.1.3; both Debian squeeze packages:

While the clipman plugin is running, any attempt to copy an object to
the clipboard will result in an error message like

8<
No matching node for expression: /svg:svg/@sodipodi:docname
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/inkscape/extensions/gimp_xcf.py", line 173, in
e.affect()
File "/usr/share/inkscape/extensions/inkex.py", line 207, in affect
self.effect()
File "/usr/share/inkscape/extensions/gimp_xcf.py", line 37, in effect
docname = self.xpathSingle('/svg:svg/@sodipodi:docname')[:-4]
TypeError: 'NoneType' object is unsubscriptable
8<

In some cases additional messages popped up after closing that message
window. Sadly I failed to copy them and cannot reporduce these now.

If clipman is terminated, Inkscape needs to be restarted to get rid of
the errors.

Regards

Andreas

[Bug 726376] [NEW] Cannot create a WebDAV address book

2011-02-27 Thread Jeremy Malcolm
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I have tried to add a WebDAV address book. The URL I specify is that of
a WebDAV directory that is either empty, or else contains one or more
vcard files - it makes no difference. In either case I get a message
"Loading Addressbook summary" in the status bar, but no progress. If I
try to add a new address to the new address book, I get "Error adding
contact - Other error". There are no funny characters in my URL or
username. When I check the logs of the WebDAV server, there is never
any attempt to access them. The same WebDAV server is accessible
through Nautilus. I do not have a proxy set.

2011-02-27 Thread Jeffrey Walton
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 664960 ***

Hi All,

>From [1], it appears that the original bug report stemmed from violating
ODR in the shared object which called Crypto++, and *not* an ODR
violation in Crypto++.

Take away: (1) Crypto++ 5.6.1 is most likely not responsible for a
crash; and (2) 5.6.1 is useful to fix (work around) a GCC/x64 code
generation bug in SHA-2.

Please close this report at the earliest convenience.

[Bug 277493] Re: /etc/cron.daily/apt incorrectly overrides apt.conf proxy settings with GNOME proxy settings, losing proxy exclusion list, and causes updates to fail

2011-02-27 Thread Sree
Caveat: I no longer use Ubuntu.

Yes, the new apt cron script seems to be mostly from upstream (Debian)
without the http_proxy variable reference, so that part seems okay. So
atleast 10.04 onwards the issue may have been fixed -- I'll leave it to
somebody to test it, I'm sorry I don't have 10.04 machines around.

However, the Ubuntu version has the following diff (against Lenny):

+# check for a new archive signing key (against the master keyring)
+if eval apt-key net-update $XSTDERR; then
+ debug_echo "apt-key net-update (success)"
+else
+ debug_echo "apt-key net-update (failure)"
+fi

So I'm not sure how this will work unless apt-key has been changed to
pick up http_proxy settings from apt.conf (see lp:226780).

[Bug 242274] Re: Options - change a value - Apply and Lingot Crashes

2011-02-27 Thread Tomas Cassidy
I recompiled lingot 0.9.0 on Ubuntu Natty and I couldn't get those segfaults to
appear.
I did manage to get a buffer overflow when setting the sample rate to
1150438151 in the preferences screen. The generated coredump of this was
1.9GB, so I won't be uploading that here. gdb log is attached, using the steps
from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace.

Changing the value of SAMPLE_RATE in lingot.conf back to 44100 allowed
lingot to start successfully. Maybe there should be some input
validation on the sample rate field in the preferences screen?

I couldn't test OSS because lingot said it couldn't find /dev/dsp. I'm
guessing that OSS is not installed.

2011-02-27 Thread Glen Luscombe
No I can't repeat it, although I have a different printer (Brother DCP-
130C). Given there is no crash file in /var/crash, can I ask you to run
a backtrace on simple-scan and replicate the crash? Please follow the
instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace, and attach the
logfile produced to this bug report.

The logfile produced by the backtrace should provide enough info to move
this issue on.

Hello
there is one safe way: don't use the keyboard in the selection box. Then - with
the mouse - scroll the list until you see your country and then click directly
onto the country name. Indeed, this bug is very annoying and likely to frighten
thousands of possible new users.

[Bug 726372] [NEW] Tablet Pen drag issue

2011-02-27 Thread Martin Owens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wesnoth-1.8

When hosting a network game it is almost impossible to change the mode
of the slot with a wacom tablet because of the drag+drop functionality.

This is because the tablet wiggles slightly as the nib hits the tablet

same position as it hits the tablet is almost impossible.

[Bug 667746] Re: vt1708 card not recognized in 10.10 due to kernel backtrace

2011-02-27 Thread Darryl
I've done some more testing with Mainline kernels. Sound is OK up to and
including kernel linux-
image-2.6.33-02063305-generic_2.6.33-02063305_amd64.deb, but fails in
all versions I tested from linux-
image-2.6.34-02063401-generic_2.6.34-02063401_amd64.deb onward.

[Bug 680627] Re: [SRU] Error starting Virtual Machine Manager: No module named version

2011-02-27 Thread Rolf Leggewie
Marc, thank you for your work. Two questions.

One, you say this issue came about by switching from python-central to
python-support. Is it possible that other packages are affected as
well? Should this be fixed in python-support?

Two, you correctly remark that the only upgrade patch is via Lucid.
>From this you conclude (as I did initially) that Maverick and Natty are
unaffected. But what about users that have already done karmic-lucid
upgrade for example and moved on to maverick or even natty in the
meantime? The workaround is easy enough to find in this ticket and I'm
not sure the number of affected users is large enough to warrant a
special solution for this. I'm merely pointing out the possibilities
that there are users on maverick and natty that are affected by this. I
leave it up to you to decide what to do.

[Bug 560465] Re: evolution don't decrypt pgp encrypted message with text/plain content-type

2011-02-27 Thread David Ayers
This was originally reported upstream as:

whether this specific scenario was also fixed, so I'm documenting the old

[Bug 726360] [NEW] Please add libboost-graph-parallel-dev, libboost-mpi-dev and libboost-mpi-python-dev, dropped from boost-defaults

2011-02-27 Thread Fabrice Coutadeur
Public bug reported:

Hi,

libboost-graph-parallel-dev, libboost-mpi-dev and libboost-mpi-python-dev has
been dropped from boost-default, because of mpi packages and dependent been
dropped from boost1.42.
Now that those mpi packages are built, the non versioned ones should be built
again, but not in boost-defaults (as it is in main).
This can be done in this package (my recommendation) or in a separate new
package (called for example boost-defaults-mpi).

So I'm requesting a Feature Freeze Exception to add those packages, and
after, updates the packages that are using some variant of the boost mpi
packages (I found at least one: life).

thanks,
Fabrice

[Bug 726353] Re: second monitor displays random flickering

2011-02-27 Thread Bayle Shanks
sorry, the first two attachments named "grep kernel /var/log/syslog" are
from my entire syslog, over many boots, and with a bunch of usb devices
attacked, including an unused displaylink device. attachment #5 is only
the current boot, with many of the usb devices (including the
displaylink) not attached (problem still occurs)
