[Bug 451673] Re: Untranslated Yelp main page (Ubuntu Help Center)
A quick update regarding the status in Natty: We're now using Yelp 3, which has not yet got an Ubuntu Help Center front page and it's a different codebase (using Mallard). I started a related discussion on the ubuntu-doc mailing list a few days ago [1], and Shaun McCance explained in detail the alternatives for Ubuntu to have it's own main help document on [2] and [3]. In any case, the present bug refers to Yelp 2. I think we should open a new bug specific to the Ubuntu Natty documentation with Yelp 3, which will require a different set of actions to solve than the current bug. [Bug 727011] [NEW] apt-mirror ignores base-path setting in config file
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt-mirror Hello, I've been trying to get apt-mirror to use a different directory than the default one. I noticed that the base-path setting in the apt-mirror config file is ignored. After looking at the perl script I saw that the check for the three working directories is done before the processing of the config file. Thus the alternative path setting would not be applied until after the setting of the work directories. After putting that piece of code behind the processing of the config file code the alternative path worked. I've attached a patch file that fixes the problem. [Bug 718870] Re: [sandybridge] GPU lockup 803644b9 (IPEHR: 0x680b0000)
Hmm, it's interesting that IPEHR varies from bug to bug, but otherwise the error codes look the same. Thanks for filing multiple reports; it gives us extra data points and demonstrates it as an ongoing issue. I think you've given us enough data though, so I think you can hold off filing more bug reports about this freeze issue until bug 718870 is resolved or until we need more testing. It's likely this lockup is due to a bug in the kernel, and given the newness of sandybridge it is not unlikely that a kernel update will bring a fix from upstream. So please keep an eye out for if the bug goes away after an update and follow up here. Meanwhile, I think the next step is to forward this bug report upstream for further attention. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/718870 Title: [sandybridge] GPU lockup 803644b9 (IPEHR: 0x680b) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 707794] Re: libqt4-opengl on armel should be compiled with OpenGL ES 2.x support
So this is supposed to be ABI-compatible with the opengl build, but I see the following symbols dropped on armel as a result of this change: QGLContext::chooseVisual()@Base 4:4.7.0~rc1 QGLContext::tryVisual(QGLFormat const&, int)@Base 4:4.7.0~rc1 QTransform::QTransform(QTransform const&)@Base 4:4.7.0 QPaintEngineEx::pixmapFilter(int, QPixmapFilter const*)@Base 4:4.6.1 QPaintEngineEx::endNativePainting()@Base 4:4.6.1 QPaintEngineEx::beginNativePainting()@Base 4:4.6.1 QString::QString(QLatin1String const&)@Base 4:4.5.3 QPolygon::~QPolygon()@Base 4:4.7.0 QHashData::hasShrunk()@Base 4:4.7.0 and two symbols have been added: qt_resolve_eglimage_gl_extensions(QGLContext*)@Base 4:4.7.1-0ubuntu11 QReadLocker::~QReadLocker()@Base 4:4.7.1-0ubuntu11 I guess most of these symbols are pulled in via C++ headers and don't really matter, but the two QGLContext symbols may be an issue. [Bug 705689] Re: Qt applications crash with segfault error on armel when Qt is built with gcc 4.5 on natty
I think I met a similar problem as mentioned in this thread. What I do: - use linaro image with toolchain Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-3ubuntu2 on imx51 - apply the IT patch, and build latest mainline qt locally on imx51 with gles2 enabled ("-opengl es2") - when run qtdemo and some other qt examples, segfault happens (not all qt application crashed, such as hellogl_es2) But after I replace some qt libraries with debug version (libQtCore, libQtGui, libQtNetwork and libQtScript), the crash disappeared. So I compared the release version and debug version libraries, it seems that there is unpredictable branch in the IT block for release version, but debug version doesn't have that, which is quite strange for me. Take libQtScript for example: For release version: root@localhost:/mnt/qt-kde# objdump -d libQtScript.so.4.8.0 |grep unpredictable c6cfc: 4770bxlelr ; unpredictable branch in IT block cf608: bf48it mi ; unpredictable For debug version: (with "-debug" configure option when build qt) root@localhost:/mnt/qt-kde/build/lib# objdump -d libQtScript.so.4.8.0 |grep unpredictable root@localhost:/mnt/qt-kde/build/lib# -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to qt4-x11 in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705689 Title: Qt applications crash with segfault error on armel when Qt is built with gcc 4.5 on natty -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 725333] Re: thunderbird 'folders' text corrupted
Ok, so first thing, yes lets uninstall it via: sudo apt-get autoremove thunderbird then after that run this command: sudo find / -name *thunderbird* > ~/Desktop/Find1 Attach the output file that will be on your desktop to your next post. [Bug 726983] [NEW] dexconf not working as documented.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg I attempted to create a default xorg.conf file by running "sudo dexconf". This ran with no messages, did not create the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file like it is supposed to, and it returned an error code of 10. "man dexconf" implies that the only possible return codes are 0 and 1. Sequence of events: $ sudo dexconf $ echo $? 10 $ ls /etc/X11/xorg.conf ls: cannot access /etc/X11/xorg.conf: No such file or directory $ I also tried "sudo dexconf -o test.conf" with the same results: no file created and a return code of 10. Oddly when I did not use sudo I did get an error message: "debconf: DbDriver "passwords" warning: could not open /var/cache/debconf/passwords.dat: Permission denied" Extra info requested: $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 10.10 Release:10.10 $ apt-cache policy xorg xorg: Installed: 1:7.5+6ubuntu3 Candidate: 1:7.5+6ubuntu3 Version table: *** 1:7.5+6ubuntu3 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-27.48-generic 2.6.35.11 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-27-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 CheckboxSubmission: 4f08ac62e89ad166a1e0b05f95495253 CheckboxSystem: fd6c484c0b5d20a2f1cd036ef0f63975 DRM.card0.DIN.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: On modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.DP.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: On modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.HDMI.A.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: On modes: edid-base64: Date: Mon Feb 28 21:42:42 2011 DkmsStatus: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory MachineType: System manufacturer System Product Name ProcCmdLine: root=UUID=b5a554b5-92df-4492-abbf-290fd809d2c0 ro xforcevesa quiet splash crashkernel=384M-2G:64M,2G-:128M ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xorg dmi.bios.date: 09/02/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: 1701 dmi.board.asset.tag: To Be Filled By O.E.M. dmi.board.name: P6T DELUXE dmi.board.vendor: ASUSTeK Computer INC. dmi.board.version: Rev 1.xx dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Asset-1234567890 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacture dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr1701:bd09/02/2009:svnSystemmanufacturer:pnSystemProductName:pvrSystemVersion:rvnASUSTeKComputerINC.:rnP6TDELUXE:rvrRev1.xx:cvnChassisManufacture:ct3:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: System Product Name dmi.product.version: System Version dmi.sys.vendor: System manufacturer system: distro: Ubuntu codename: maverick architecture: x86_64 kernel: 2.6.35-27-generic ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/726983 Title: dexconf not working as documented. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
