[Bug 744293] [NEW] Infinite loop in helper LVM script for DRBD 8 in Lucid
Public bug reported: The script /usr/lib/drbd/snapshot-resync-target-lvm.sh shipped with drbd v8.3.7 in Lucid fails to read its command line options and falls into an infinite loop. This bug is not in present in natty, but I humbly request an SRU to Lucid. This script can be called by DRBD to create an LVM snapshot of a resource before it starts resyncing (thus becoming inconsistent). This script is present (though commented out) in the default drbd configuration file /etc/drbd.d/global_common.conf . This bug can result in drbd silently failing to resync an outdated resource. Thus, any newer data will be lost if the cluster fails over to the outdated node. This is a known problem upstream and it was fixed in later versions of DRBD. The following patch was committed upstream to address this bug : http://git.drbd.org/?p=drbd-8.3.git;a=commitdiff;h=1fd3ad953663615e946167191e1d9885af81450a Steps to reproduce: On a cluster composed of node A and node B: - on both nodes, uncomment the line before-resync-target /usr/lib/drbd/snapshot-resync-target-lvm.sh -p 15 -- -c 16k; - on both nodes, configure a drbd resource called test - make the initial synchronization - on B, do drbdadm disconnect test - nn A, make test primary and write to it - on B, do drbdadm connect test = the script will kick in and fall in an endless loop - top will show it using 100% CPU. lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS Release:10.04 apt-cache policy drbd8-utils drbd8-utils: Installé : 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2.1 Candidat : 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2.1 Table de version : *** 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2.1 0 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2:8.3.7-1ubuntu2 0 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages Lionel Sausin. ** Affects: drbd8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to drbd8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/744293 Title: Infinite loop in helper LVM script for DRBD 8 in Lucid -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 651875] Re: Bind 9.7.0-P1 validation errors
Dave says we don't have a comprehensive test suite, instead he'll do a wide call for testing on the mailing list. This will then take a little longer to progress. If this issue is urgent, I recommend backporting the single fix for this, as it's much safer and a lot quicker to test. [Bug 677815] Re: Firefox crashes with XML Parsing Error
Gabriel - the language packs define compatibility requirements already, and the ones in /usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions already define maxVersion=3.6.* if you are on a release older than 11.04, which means that they are *not* loaded by Firefox 4. [Bug 741385] Re: icons in notification area are broken
I think that there are two issues involved: 1. The current libappindicator1 version is designed to fall-back on some icon cache. 2. The current ubuntu-mono broke that cache's content in postinst. As such, if I understand this correctly, downgrading libappdindicator1 reverts display to using non-cached items, which always works, but can be momentarily broken when the menu content is refreshed (it among other things can make nm-applet crash, which was the reason for this bug report in the first place and the current libappindicator1 indeed prevent that crash). This is what makes people think that reverting libappindicator1 is the correct choice, even though it isn't. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/741385 Title: icons in notification area are broken -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This is another example of a short-sighted decision *somewhere* that nobody would EVER want to use a floppy! Ubuntu is going to stop supporting the i386 architecture because nobody uses 386 based machines, right? Oooh! Let's only support Intel/AMD quad+ core!! OK. . . . [Bug 588858] Re: Add optional support of indicator applet
Johannes: Its not really important as its only there for future use anyway, there are no functions that can be called on a track object anyway currently. I realized while trying to code the plugin how far reaching the entire interface is and how some of the exaile api's don't allow for the needed functionality. For the minimal plugin I've been looking at https://code.launchpad.net/~rick-rickspencer3/+junk/sound_menu which contains all the glue code for the indicator applet, but I was hesitant to write a plugin that only Ubuntu would benefit from. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/588858 Title: Add optional support of indicator applet -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
