[Bug 744293] [NEW] Infinite loop in helper LVM script for DRBD 8 in Lucid

2011-03-28 Thread Numérigraphe
Public bug reported:

The script /usr/lib/drbd/snapshot-resync-target-lvm.sh shipped with drbd
v8.3.7 in Lucid fails to read its command line options and falls into an
infinite loop.

This bug is not in present in natty, but I humbly request an SRU to
Lucid.

This script can be called by DRBD to create an LVM snapshot of a
resource before it starts resyncing (thus becoming inconsistent). This
script is present (though commented out) in the default drbd
configuration file /etc/drbd.d/global_common.conf .

This bug can result in drbd silently failing to resync an outdated
resource. Thus, any newer data will be lost if the cluster fails over to
the outdated node.

This is a known problem upstream and it was fixed in later versions of
DRBD. The following patch was committed upstream to address this bug :
http://git.drbd.org/?p=drbd-8.3.git;a=commitdiff;h=1fd3ad953663615e946167191e1d9885af81450a

Steps to reproduce:
On a cluster composed of node A and node B:
 - on both nodes, uncomment the line before-resync-target
/usr/lib/drbd/snapshot-resync-target-lvm.sh -p 15 -- -c 16k;
 - on both nodes, configure a drbd resource called test
 - make the initial synchronization
 - on B, do drbdadm disconnect test
 - nn A, make test primary and write to it
 - on B, do drbdadm connect test
= the script will kick in and fall in an endless loop - top will show it
using 100% CPU.

[Bug 651875] Re: Bind 9.7.0-P1 validation errors

2011-03-28 Thread Martin Pitt
Dave says we don't have a comprehensive test suite, instead he'll do a
wide call for testing on the mailing list. This will then take a little
longer to progress.

If this issue is urgent, I recommend backporting the single fix for
this, as it's much safer and a lot quicker to test.

But I'm ok with either approach (or both).

[Bug 623342] Re: ntlm_auth returns invalid NT_KEY

2011-03-28 Thread Stefano Rivera
Sorry for the delay on testing. We are having no issue with the lucid
update, and have tested the maverick one too.

Aiko:
I've prepared a PPA Build with a later version of the patch you linked to:
https://launchpad.net/~stefanor/+archive/sru

It seems to work (no regressions), but we also aren't seeing the issue you are
(a timeout).
I suggest filing a separate bug for this.

[Bug 744371] [NEW] PHP5-FPM doesn't always restart on 10.10

2011-03-28 Thread Steve Corona
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php5-fpm

The init script for PHP5-FPM doesn't handle restarts correctly. When you
restart an active PHP5-FPM process, it'll sometimes shutdown the old
process, but the new process won't spawn any children and handle
requests.

I think whats happening is that the new PHP5-FPM process is trying to
grab the FastCGI Port while the old process is still shutting down,
causing the new PHP5-FPM process to fail.

Either way, this can be fixed by changing restart to use graceful-stop
instead of stop

Currently it does-
   restart)
$0 stop
$0 start
;;

This needs to become
restart)
$0 graceful-stop
$0 start

As you wish.

I had to reject the current lucid/maverick uploads, as they have an
incomplete changelog which doesn't refer to this SRU bug (as the very
minimum) and also don't give a rationale (remember that update-manager
will prominently display the changelog, to aid users in deciding whether
or not they want to install it).

10.04, when apache is started by upstart, it cannot read input from the
the console. You must login, kill it manually, then start apache. I was
able to workaround the problem using by adding stty sane to
  /etc/init.d/apache2.

[Bug 710114] Re: kvm/qemu server freeze

2011-03-28 Thread Serge Hallyn
@slu,

I'm confused. In comment #18 you said KSM was enabled, and I thought
the crash was 100% reproducible. Is comment #20 about a different
server? Or are you saying that with KSM disabled you cannot reproduce
the crash?

If it's not 100% reproducible (or even 50%) then maybe I just need to
spend more time reproducing?

[Bug 710114] Re: kvm/qemu server freeze

2011-03-28 Thread slu
@ Serge,
yes KSM was enabled all the time and crashes, I disable it yesterday for
testing as you write in comment #14.

And no I can not reproducing the crash, sorry, I have no idea where the
problem is.

My first idea was, because the server crash every few weeks that the
windows auto restart function after windows updates was the problem, so
I disable the automatically restart of windows. But the server still
crash every few weeks again.

To find out its a KSM problem I have to wait now, after disable KSM support,
some weeks.
The hardware work 3 years fine, but maybe it is now really a hardware problem.

[Bug 744054] [NEW] docbook utils fail to produce output (due to jade errors)

2011-03-28 Thread Sami J. Laine
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: docbook-utils

Installing docbook-utils with command 'sudo apt-get install docbook-
utils' does not create situation where SGML-files are properly processed
by any of docbook utils. I guess this is caused by some mislocated files
in the /usr/share/sgml directory hierarchy.

How to reproduce this:

1. Do 'sudo apt-get install docbook-utils'.
2. Copy the contents of attached later in this message between ---
example.sgml --- lines into example.sgml.
3. Run 'docbook2html example.sgml'.
4. Get:

Hi Robert,

if you'd send me (or upload somewhere) a file that leads to the crash I could
test if it's gone in a new snapshot.
(you can send me a private notification if you don't want to put the file
somewhere public)

Cheers,

[Bug 677815] Re: Firefox crashes with XML Parsing Error

2011-03-28 Thread Chris Coulson
Gabriel - the language packs define compatibility requirements already,
and the ones in /usr/lib/firefox-addons/extensions already define
maxVersion=3.6.* if you are on a release older than 11.04, which means
that they are *not* loaded by Firefox 4. The only reason they would be
loaded is if you have disabled the addon compatibility check, which is
not a bug in that case.

[Bug 599455] Re: Please update ttf-linux-libertine package - Libertine and Biolinum fonts were updated in 2010 (package version 4.7.5)

2011-03-28 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
Ubuntu packages of new version linux-libertine (and Biolinum) fonts are
available at Baltix GNU/Linux repository - ppa:baltix/ppa (for Ubuntu
10.04 LTS), see:

https://launchpad.net/~baltix/+archive/ppa

Are there any chances to sync new linux-libertine packages from Debian?
New version fixed many bugs, it would be nice to have better libertine
fonts in Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty).

[Bug 743408] Re: [sandybridge-gt1] GPU lockup (IPEHR: 0x02000004)

2011-03-28 Thread kvdveer
I was just hit by this one as well.
For me, this was triggered by watching the Dr. WHO preview on this page, and
clicking the fullscreen option.
http://weblog.fok.nl/viewSingleItem/35203/Doctor-Who%3A-een-voorproefje.htm

The screen froze, but the system kept operating as usual. I used
ctrl+alt+f1 to open a terminal to investigate the problem and trigger a
reboot. I was also able to switch back and forth to the (still frozen) x
session.

[Bug 741385] Re: icons in notification area are broken

2011-03-28 Thread Martin-Éric Racine
I think that there are two issues involved:

1. The current libappindicator1 version is designed to fall-back on some icon
cache.
2. The current ubuntu-mono broke that cache's content in postinst.

As such, if I understand this correctly, downgrading libappdindicator1
reverts display to using non-cached items, which always works, but can
be momentarily broken when the menu content is refreshed (it among other
things can make nm-applet crash, which was the reason for this bug
report in the first place and the current libappindicator1 indeed
prevent that crash). This is what makes people think that reverting
libappindicator1 is the correct choice, even though it isn't.

[Bug 618953] Re: Cannot read floppy disks after udisks update

2011-03-28 Thread Jim (JR) Harris
This is another example of a short-sighted decision *somewhere* that
nobody would EVER want to use a floppy!

Admittedly, I use floppies less-and-less often, but I do use them and
some of my most valuable and powerful utilities will ONLY work from a
floppy. . . . running DOS 6.22. (and yes, I've tried it from a
bootable

IMHO, this is tantamount to saying that Ubuntu should not support the
Mini DB-15 VGA port because Nobody would use anything other than HDMI
- right? Ubuntu is going to stop supporting the i386 architecture
because nobody uses 386 based machines, right? Oooh! Let's only
support Intel/AMD quad+ core!!

OK. . . . Maybe the majority of the newer machines don't even KNOW what
a floppy is - but should that mean that *everyone* should be forbidden
to use one? I think not.

[Bug 618953] Re: Cannot read floppy disks after udisks update

2011-03-28 Thread Jim (JR) Harris
@Kris

That is because you have the floppy in your fstab. Remove or comment-
out the floppy disk (/dev/fd - /dev/fd0) line in your FSTAB and
resave. You will still be able to use the floppy with the downgraded
udev - and it will automount just like a USB drive.

2011-03-28 Thread Didier Roche
Hey Ian,

unfortunately your current patch is just a workaround and is breaking a lot of
cases where bamf tries to match the application to a desktop file.
What we really need is a solution where ~ is interpreted in the runner
application to be changed by home, as well as ~user1, ~user2… and so on.

[Bug 588858] Re: Add optional support of indicator applet

2011-03-28 Thread Ciaran Liedeman
Johannes: Its not really important as its only there for future use anyway,
there are no functions that can be called on
a track object anyway currently.

I realized while trying to code the plugin how far reaching the entire
interface is and how some of the exaile api's don't
allow for the needed functionality.

For the minimal plugin I've been looking at
https://code.launchpad.net/~rick-rickspencer3/+junk/sound_menu
which contains all the glue code for the indicator applet, but I was hesitant
to write a plugin that only Ubuntu would benefit
from.
