technically this bug has not been re-confirmed against oneiric, I feel
it is worth continued development attention. We will need to ask that

[Bug 745902] Re: Fluxbox core dumped & DeaDBeeF

2011-05-02 Thread Pavlo Bohmat
When you run the default player DeaDBeeF (from tuxcmd, doublecmd,
nautilus) always falls fbpager.

fbpager_0.1.5 ~ git20090221.1.8e0927e6-1_amd64.deb
fluxbox_1.3.1 ~ dfsg1-1_amd64.deb
tuxcmd_0.6.70 + dfsg-1_amd64.deb
deadbeef_0.4.4 + git20110429-1ppa1 ~ natty1_amd64.deb (PPA
http://ppa.launchpad.net/alex-p/notesalexp/ubuntu)

Did the title text when playing "DeaDBeeF :: % a -% t", the default was
"% a -% t - DeaDBeeF" - falls fluxbox is no longer there, but maybe it's
not because of it.

[Bug 774559] Re: microphone doesn't work properly on Natty Narwhal

2011-05-02 Thread Igor Zinovyev
I tried to do what David said about the "Analog mix" setting, and did
not find one in my alsamixer. However, when I played with the "Mic
boost" setting, I noticed that it doesn't correspond correctly to the
setting in the "Sound preferences" GUI menu.

When you lower it all the way down and get it back up to 100 in the
alsamixer, the "Input volume" slider in the sound preferences GUI
doesn't go all the way to 100%, but stays somewhere near 25%. And in
this setting the microphone works perfectly with no background sounds at
all - I have just tested it with my colleague over skype.

Re: [Bug 776082] [NEW] pcscd spams syslog whenever mozilla is running and CAC card is not inserted/present

2011-05-02 Thread Nicolas DERIVE
Was it present with previous firefox version (4.0)? It's not
reproductible here on ix86 (latest updated), only nearly 10 messages in
syslog (mainly because of reader detection and trying to authenticate me
with card when using sudo, which is what I configured). Is this a fresh
install or did you install other programs (except pcscd)?

[Bug 725434] Re: Nvidia drivers lead to extra memory usage for each process using libGL

2011-05-02 Thread Bryce Harrington
"So cairo (1.10.2-2ubuntu2) may didn't break wayland, I guess"

Regardless, seb128 added a 'breaks' in the packaging against wayland, so
having cairo installed now makes wayland uninstallable.

[Bug 748768] Re: Why does my mouse point to a place besides where the cursor is pointing?

2011-05-02 Thread Devin
The description of the problem is that you know how there are three
point to the triangle on the mouse pointer? Well, my pointer selects
things that are on the bottom left point instead of the top point. The
screen displays the same proportion off center with the edges that are
cut of appear on the other side of the monitor as in the pictures I
took, despite me adjusting the screen positioning with the buttons on
the outside of the monitor.

[Bug 776149] [NEW] crash with subversion plugin

2011-05-02 Thread Andrejs
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netbeans

I have few projects registered in a SVN repository. After I had created new
project (not included into SVN) I permanently have netbeans crash on start. I
was renamed NetBeansProjects to another name and in this way I was able to
start the netbeans.
In next step I was dis-activated the subversion plugin and returned folder name
back.
Now I was able to start and use the netbeans. In case I was trying to activate
the plugin, I got immediate netbeans crash.
I have attached a log file I got on netbeans failure.
I was trying to start the netbeans with sun-java6-jdk, but this did not help.

** Affects: netbeans (Ubuntu)

[Bug 748768] Re: Why does my mouse point to a place besides where the cursor is pointing?

2011-05-02 Thread Devin
apport information

** Description changed:

  Ubuntu 10.10

I Printed Screen to show what I'm talking about while the problem is ongoing.
But, I opened the picture and it looked normal instead even while the problem
was ongoing. Whenever I boot up the computer it is like this or after I fix it
and then the screen saver starts it reverts back to the problem. The power
management does not cause this problem. The problem was there from the start:
during the installation. I can fix it temporarily by applying a different
resolution and then reverting back to the resolution without saving the new
applied resolution. This fixes both the pointer from pointing at the bottom of
the pointer icon and the whole screen, even besides the background, from being
tiled and cut off at the bottom the same distance that the pointer points
problematically. The screen is also shifted to the left. The left part that is
cut off is shown on the right side of the monitor. But the mouse does not show
on the right side when I put it past the left side, only everything else. The
cut off portion at the bottom does not come out the other side at the top, but
the top menu bar is larger than normal and the Firefox icon has a blue streak
emanating from the end of the blue portion of the Firefox logo straight to the
top. If I enter Configure Display Settings again after it is fixed, it right
away makes the problem again. I expect it to fit the screen without me having
to, temporarily, fix it. I'm using a Dell monitor, model number: E172FPt.

[Bug 776145] [NEW] Does not echo udp response to stdout, not compatitble with netcat-traditional

2011-05-02 Thread Pan Yongzhi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: netcat-openbsd

Netcat-openbsd does not echo response from xinetd UDP server to stdout.
But netcat-traditional works OK as with TCP server.

Test case:

Install xinetd and enable the builtin services in /etc/xinetd.d/. Do the
following:

$ /bin/nc.traditional -u localhost echo
hehe
hehe
haha
haha
^C
$ /bin/nc.openbsd -u localhost echo
hehe

$

Since in netcat-openbsd README.Debian, it says "Anything else that
netcat-traditional does that this package doesn't is a bug." So I file
this as a bug.

The version is 1.89-3ubuntu5 in Natty.

[Bug 776143] [NEW] skype icon isn't visible in panel

2011-05-02 Thread JR
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

after switching to natty, I used unity for a few days, but I didn't like
it - so I switched to gnome-classic.

I found that the skype icon isn't visible in the panel. this is quite annoying
if I accidentally minimize skype because it's inavailable then. the interesting
thing is, that this problem does not exist in unity.
I've never had this problem in maverick.

[Bug 765438] Re: On startup, the backlight is off on laptop

2011-05-02 Thread JimBo
@ Wolfgang Kufner, I tried patched kernel & gnome-power-manager from ppa :
doesn't work for me...
(same issue : blank screen !);

Perhaps another way :
https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/499221/
(but need to recompile kernel from sources... no time for me today)

Stay tuned
