Wow, it's been awhile since I commented on this. I finally upgraded to
11.04 and set "options snd_hda_intel model=auto". And it works
great!!! Excellent job everyone, and I'm glad that a bug that I opened
got resolved :)
Oh, and @ruslan, sounds like you have a completely different problem
Using "create launcher" on desktop is an easy way to create a custom
Unity-launcher:

I have never been able to get this package to recognize a video file for
extracting frames. I have mplayer installed, and it deocdes my videos

First :
While running in Unity, I tried opening Ubuntu bug, but there was no response.
It showed up, but on clicking it, there was no response.
Second:
This problem has occurred only in Ubuntu 11.04. I was using

Valgrind caused my computer to choke hard. I managed to save the
attached log. Does this help? I'm not sure I can easily repeat the
original crash. Most of the time VLC works just fine.
