[Bug 874981] Re: Please merge/sync mcollective from debian wheezy
Hi Marc, Thanks for the updated debdiff.. I raised in the previous comment that I couldn't see why were were deviating from Debian for the package descriptions, such as: -Description: Marionette Collective clustering framework - server +Description: build server orchestration or parallel job execution systems Please can you also confirm why were are switching from rabbitmq - activemq. I don't remember there being decision on this. activemq is in universe, and whilst this is ok as this package is in the same; it seems odd to switch from a dependency which is in main to one which is universe. [Bug 874981] Re: Please merge/sync mcollective from debian wheezy
Hi Dave, The deviated Descriptions should be okay in the last debdiff, I double checked them all, hope I didn't miss any About the switch, activemq is recommended by mcollective upstream and debian also supports activemq for mcollective, we want to give the users the convenience to still use rabbitmq-stomp if they wish so but we're trying at the same time to get in line with the recommended ampq server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mcollective in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874981 Title: Please merge/sync mcollective from debian wheezy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mcollective/+bug/874981/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

A whole bunch of other packages are affected by this as well, one of them libtasn1-3 in version 2.10-1 Cheers Mike -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/835625 Title: apt may try to unpack a foreign-arch multiarch library before the native package is at a multiarch version, prohibited by dpkg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/835625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 889749] [NEW] gzip produces different output on different architectures
Public bug reported: Gzip produces different output when gzipping the same file on different architectures. This can for example be seen in the libtasn1-3 package in version 2.10-1 which can not be installed co-installed as AMD64 and i386 multiarch packages since dpkg detects differences in the Changelog file. Also see bug #835625 for another example. ** Affects: gzip (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889749 Title: gzip produces different output on different architectures To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gzip/+bug/889749/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 879615] Re: kernel panic on shutdown
I may have identified the cause and have a workaround after researching the network issues using the forums. [Bug 861061] Re: Unity makes 3D apps run much slower.
I think that the framebuffer object implementation in unity might be the cause of the slowness. Currently, on every frame, we will bind and unbind a framebuffer object to capture the entire screen into, and then paint the entire screen on to the display every time the display is painted (at around the same time the nux stuff is blitted on to the screen). This is (obviously) used to do the blurs, which are painted on top of the scene below the nux widgets like the launcher and friends. Doing glBindBuffer flushes the pipeline and (might?) block the CPU if I remember correctly. I think that if the nux widgets don't need to be updated, then nux doesn't draw anything or bind any buffers at all, and the just blits its existing buffers into a running context (though, I need to confirm here that WindowThread::renderFromForeignCmd) actually does *only* that. Daniel, can you do a quick measure of performance with UnityFBO::bind (), UnityFBO::unbind and UnityFBO::paint set to return immediately ? If it increases, then that is definitely the cause. I had a look into whether or not this could be impacting performance a few months ago, but I didn't notice any difference on my machine (nouveau 8600GT), but I wasn't measuring the performance in that case. I have some proof of concept code I wrote here a few months ago that only binds framebuffer objects if the blurs need updating. I think that if this is the cause of the slowness, then this would definitely be a good solution, since we don't use the framebuffer objects for anything else anyways. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/861061 Title: Unity makes 3D apps run much slower. This is quite a hassle for something that used to be very easy in Gnome 2. Is this another regression (like not being able to choose an app from a custom location to open a file with)? It really starts to be frustrating that in Gnome simple things like these are overlooked. If it is because of the focus on ease of use, I can guarantee this is not an example of 'ease of use'. On the contrary, it makes the use of linux more complicated. Not everybody knows how to find the information I described, but I'm sure many people would benefit having this info available in Nautilus. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: codecinformation nautilus -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889761 Title: No detailed information on codec in file properties nautilus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/889761/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 886532] Re: gkrellm crashes - segmentation fault - calendar (create_monitor)
After almost crashing my system by unsinstalling gnome components that I supposed not be necessary anymore I finally got my kubuntu working again. Some programs were missing, I managed to reinstall them, like flashplugin-installer (i tried to use ubuntu.mirror.pop-sc.mp.br but I got a 404 file-not-found error. I tried ubuntu-archive.locaweb.com.br but it pointed to a non-existent 11.0 version of flash, then changed to official canonical brazilian server and was able to reinstall it. Also reinstalled chromium-browser and opera brower from their deb repository. Then I gave it a try and... guess what? gkrellm is running again... Sorry, but I just can't figure out what package fixed it. Though, when installing flashplugin-installer it installs libpango1.0, libfontconfig1 and suggestive names like libfreetype6. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886532 Title: gkrellm crashes - segmentation fault - calendar (create_monitor) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gkrellm/+bug/886532/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks Sam. Confirmed the bug does go away when I disable UnityFBO::bind (), UnityFBO::unbind and UnityFBO::paint.
