[Bug 925028] Re: apparmor breaks lxc-start-ephemeral (apparmor+overlayfs returns -EINVAL)
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging. [Bug 926160] [NEW] precise cloud-images significantly larger than oneiric
Public bug reported: See below for detail, but basically from oneiric released images to precise images, we've grown from root filesystem used of 762M to 973M. That is 27% size increase. This compares what I found on ubuntu-oneiric-11.10-arch-server-20120108 ubuntu-precise-daily-arch-server-20120202 The .img and .tar.gz files on cloud-images have grown also, but strangely it seems less. comparing alpha-2 from precise to last release of oneiric (20120108) shows: -- | 11.10 | prec | %growth amd64 disk.img | 218M | 228M | 4.8 amd64 .tar.gz_ | 207M | 217M | 4.6 amd64 ebs df__ | 762M | 973M | 27.6 amd64 inst df_ | 655M | 823M | 25.6 i386_ disk.img | 198M | 210M | 6.0 i386_ .tar.gz_ | 188M | 200M | 6.3 i386_ ebs df__ | 689M | 814M | 18.1 i386_ inst df_ | 582M | 753M | 29.3 (Note, precise df numers are from daily build 20120108, 1 day after alpha2) I suspect that part of the discrepancy between instance and ebs is somehow related to how we populate them. In the build process, the instance store builds are done into a 1.4G filesystem, and then that is grown (resize2fs) to 10G before publishing to EC2. The EBS population script downloads the 1.4GB filesystem image, creates a filesystem on a 8G disk, then mounts it loopback and rsync's the data from the image to the new filesystem. [Bug 924739] Re: after upgrade from oneiric to precise squid only returns 403
@Jean-Baptiste: The issue is that precise has transitioned to squid3. The new location for squid.conf is /etc/squid3/squid.conf. After upgrade, squid(3) was restarted using the default packaged config that was installed at /etc/squid3/squid.conf after update. Replacing /etc/squid3/squid.conf with yours, I squid3 restarted and read the correct config, however, there were still some issues: # squid3 -N 2012/02/03 19:26:02| WARNING: (B) '::/0' is a subnetwork of (A) '::/0' 2012/02/03 19:26:02| WARNING: because of this '::/0' is ignored to keep splay tree searching predictable 2012/02/03 19:26:02| WARNING: You should probably remove '::/0' from the ACL named 'all' 2012/02/03 19:26:02| ERROR: Directive 'upgrade_http0.9' is obsolete. 2012/02/03 19:26:02| cache_cf.cc(381) parseOneConfigFile: squid.conf:2993 unrecognized: 'broken_vary_encoding' 2012/02/03 19:26:02| ERROR: Directive 'extension_methods' is obsolete. IIRC, 'broken_vary_encoding' has been removed from valid config options in squid3. [Bug 498987] Re: vlan
Ok, this can be caused by several things. One would be a race condition between bridge-utils and vlan, this got fixed in Precise so it'd be interesting for you to test with Precise alpha-2. Another could be the switch between the two machines eating the tags, I've seen that happen on some cheap devices like wireless routers (wrt54gl being one of them). And yet another problem could be the network driver not working with VLANs, I've seen this with some older version of the nvidia ethernet driver. Anyway, as a first step I think it'd be best if you could test this on Ubuntu Precise alpha-2 (or later) and if it still happens, then give details regarding: - exact hardware in both machines - exact model of switch - same test using crossover cable - /var/log/kernel.log for both machines - /var/log/syslog for both machines Thanks ** Changed in: vlan (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist = Undecided ** Changed in: vlan (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vlan in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/498987 Title: vlan To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlan/+bug/498987/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 423252] Re: NSS using LDAP+SSL breaks setuid applications like su, sudo, apache2 suexec, and atd

[Bug 917134] Re: dbrd8 kernel module and padlock-sha kernel module in deadlock
Hi Jens- Thanks for reporting this. This sounds like a tough one to debug, any chance you've hit this again since reporting? I assume this is on a production system and there's no chance of you trying to reproduce on demand. In the event that you do hit this again, before rebooting, can you capture the output of 'dmesg', 'cat /proc/drbd', 'ps aux | grep D ' and 'netstat -ntp | grep 7788' (or whatever port the resource is configured to use) from both nodes. Also syslogs from both nodes would be helpful as well as your drbd.conf (with any sensitive information edited) When you say your device got messed up, do you mean there was divergent data on both nodes or that they disconnected and were required to carry out a normal resync? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to drbd8 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/917134 Title: dbrd8 kernel module and padlock-sha kernel module in deadlock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/drbd8/+bug/917134/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 925315] Re: [Patch][Precise]Enable LZO support
Great idea David. The patch needs a little work: First, reference this bug# in the changelog entry as (LP: #925315) Second, you do not need to pre-depend on the library. It will be linked in and automatically added to Depends: by ${shlibs:Depends}. Pre-Depends are only things that are needed to run the preinst maintainer script, which you definitely don't need here. Third, the version should be 5.2.3-0ubuntu3 instead of 5.2.3-0ubuntud. You would have gotten that automatically if you had run 'dch -i' to edit the changelog. Hi Mohammed. I know this was a long time ago. Do you still have the affected system? [Bug 924337] Re: lxc on precise is not working with lucid containers (container does not reach runlevel 2)
It turns out the original problem never went away. The container never gets a net-device-up event for lo, even in precise. You can verify this trivially with two upstart jobs, /etc/init/lxc{lo,eth}.conf: lxclo.conf description detect net-device-up IFACE=lo start on net-device-up IFACE=lo lxceth.conf === description detect net-device-up IFACE=eth0 start on net-device-up IFACE=eth0 Start the container and check 'status lxclo' and 'status lxceth'. The reason this happens is clear in /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart. The reason this stopped mattering is that rc-sysinit.conf switched from being start on filesystem and net-device-up IFACE=lo to being start on (filesystem and static-network-up) or failsafe-boot Where static-network-up does not require lo to come up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/924337 Title: lxc on precise is not working with lucid containers (container does not reach runlevel 2) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/924337/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
