Tried the suggestion in comment #13, but it didn't work. Still get "Error connecting to the server: fe_sendauth: no password supplied" when connecting without a password. Please note that I'm able to log in to the same database without a password from the command line: psql -U [db_user] [db_name] -> No password prompt, logged in immediately.
