[Bug 941905] [NEW] keystone user should not have a primary group of nogroup
Public bug reported: The keystone package creates a keystone user who's primary (and only) group membership is 'nogroup'. This results in files/directories created by the keystone user having 'nogroup' group ownership. This is considered a bad thing. The keystone user should have it's primary group set to 'keystone'. [Bug 731879] Re: libpam-ldap depends on ldap-auth-client
Hello, I have just verified that the libpam-ldap version in Precise (184-8.5ubuntu2) has the same issue. I have a custom package that configures ldap (actually it configures much more than that) and I tried to add: Provides: ldap-auth-config to it, but because libpam-ldap Depends: ldap-auth-config (= 0.5.2) - it ignores virtual packages, and pulls ldap-auth-config which in turn pulls ldap-auth-client. If you do not want to just remove the dependency, perhaps you could add depend on a virtual package name by default and I could use that one instead? I just verified against Debian testing (Wheezy) and their libpam-ldap 184-8.5 does not have this dependency at all. Why is it in Ubuntu? [Bug 942325] [NEW] keep container from marking shared rootfs readonly on shutdown
Public bug reported: When a container shuts down, it tries to mount -o remount,ro / If the container's '/' is a separate blockdev, that's fine. If the container's '/' is on the host's rootfs, that's usually fine - because something, somewhere, on the system will have a file open which will make the readonly remount fail. But if the container rootfs is a directory under /var/lib/lxc/container/rootfs, and /var/lib/lxc is a separate filesystem, and no other container is running, then that filesystem will be marked readonly, causing future container starts or creations to fail. lxc-start needs to hold a file open for write for the duration of the container's run. '${rootfs}.hold' should be good. ** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/942325 Title: keep container from marking shared rootfs readonly on shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/942325/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 569757] Re: NIS upstart dependency broken for lucid
I've taken on the task of trying to get this fixed for precise using native and idiomatic upstart jobs for each of the services. It's not directly backportable to lucid, as it depends on upstart's wait-for- state generic helper instead of doing things directly in the nis-wait job, adds a versioned dependency on rpcbind for upstart support in that package, and references the 'failsafe-boot' event. The first of these can be addressed for backporting by using Jeremy's implementation, and the second can use an alternative dependency on the upstart-enabled portmap package. The third can be replaced with 'network-device-up INTERFACE!=lo', I guess. Honestly if I'd had the sense to read through the bug log all the way to the end before poking at this, I think I would've just gone with Jeremy's implementation. But now having gone to the effort of splitting the init script up into proper per-service upstart jobs, I think that's the better way forward for precise rather than a halfway measure of a nis-sysv job. I've pushed these changes to lp:ubuntu/nis. Clint, what do you think? If we're introducing upstart jobs in an SRU anyway, I'm not sure it matters terribly if we're completely removing the init script vs. wrapping it, so I think it would be better to go all the way and avoid having to do two separate init script transitions. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nis in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569757 Title: NIS upstart dependency broken for lucid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nis/+bug/569757/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 569757] Re: NIS upstart dependency broken for lucid
Note that this implementation only has 'start on starting autofs or starting am-utils', because these are the only packages in Debian unstable whose init scripts declare a 'Should-Start: ypbind' except for cron, and cron has been fixed to now be able to pick up new NSS information after startup. Jeremy's implementation also references gdm, lightdm, and atd. I think if these are going to be included, we should also coordinate with Debian to get 'Should-Start' added to the init scripts. ** Changed in: nis (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nis in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569757 Title: NIS upstart dependency broken for lucid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nis/+bug/569757/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 929207] Re: [FFE] Proxy tunnel for syncdaemon
This seems a very intrusive change at this point, so I have some questions: * Does this change the code path/structure for situations where users use no proxies? I. e. will the no proxy case also have a new process and use the same code path? In other words, what's the regression potential for the no proxy case? * Why do we need a separate process for this tunneling? It sounds rather heavy (memory usage, wakeups, startup time, etc.) to have yet another long-running Python process in the system for protocol translation, these can usually happen in-process. * Where does it get the proxy configuration from? Do you use libproxy? There are quite a few places where proxies are configured (/etc/environment, GNOME control center, Firefox etc.). ** Changed in: ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu Precise) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/929207 Title: [FFE] Proxy tunnel for syncdaemon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+bug/929207/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 941745] Re: kgoldrunner built without sound support
The reason for this is that kgoldrunner depends on a sound library from universe (libopenal) which makes it impossible to use it while kdegames is in main and our backport packages use the same build configuration as the official archive packages. I'll leave this open as this is valid, but the only way to fix it is to demote kdegames to universe which will probably happen for 12.10. ** Changed in: kubuntu-ppa Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: kubuntu-ppa Status: New = Triaged ** Also affects: kdegames (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: kdegames (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: kdegames (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941745 Title: kgoldrunner built without sound support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/941745/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
