Having same USB issues on precise beta kernel which does not allow me to install (USB read errors). [Bug 946132] [NEW] no (obvious) option to set hwclock to utc during 12.04 alternate install
Public bug reported: When installing 12.04 from an alternate CD, the time setting dialogue checks that my timezone is correct, but it doesn't ask about whether the hardware clock should be set to local time or UTC. The problem has been there since, possibly, the previous release; I initially upgraded to Precise from an Oneiric install, and after a lot of head-scratching, discovered that hwclock set to local time was causing problems such as unexpected errors on a shared partition, due (I presume) to timestamps being wrong. I run Lucid on the same machine, and also Windows Vista with a fix to read the hwclock as UTC. After running Precise and then booting into Vista, I was getting the time showing as 13 hrs ahead of actual time. This corresponds to the 13 hrs that NZDT is ahead of UTC. I did a fresh install of Precise from the Beta1 alternate CD and the same thing has happened. If people who want to use UTC are supposed to answer "no" to the question about local timezone and then set UTC manually, it is not made clear during the installation. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/946132 Title: no (obvious) option to set hwclock to utc during 12.04 alternate install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/946132/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 946057] Re: Nautilus crashes When dismouting my mobile phone
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/946057 Title: Nautilus crashes When dismouting my mobile phone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/946057/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 945878] Re: Nautilus restart fails
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945878 Title: Nautilus restart fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/945878/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Uploaded to Precise. thank for your work! @Dmitry: as we are in Feature Freeze, please refrain to make 'unnecessary' changes, like updating the standards-version or the copyright version. this makes just the diff bigger and some sponsors may reject it. [Bug 946093] [NEW] DNSSEC passthrough support in dnsmasq
Public bug reported: I just noticed that Network Manager isn't using --proxy-dnssec for the local resolver. Using this option is important for environments where the client (firefox or similar) is actively checking for the DNSSEC flags. >From dnsmasq's man page: --proxy-dnssec A resolver on a client machine can do DNSSEC validation in two ways: it can perform the cryptograhic operations on the reply it receives, or it can rely on the upstream recursive nameserver to do the validation and set a bit in the reply if it succeeds. Dnsmasq is not a DNSSEC valida‐ tor, so it cannot perform the validation role of the recursive name‐ server, but it can pass through the validation results from its own upstream nameservers. This option enables this behaviour. You should only do this if you trust all the configured upstream nameservers and the network between you and them. If you use the first DNSSEC mode, validating resolvers in clients, this option is not required. Dnsmasq always returns all the data needed for a client to do validation itself. As our dnsmasq should be as transparent as possible to the user, I believe doing dnssec passthrough is the right thing and will be important for some of our users. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/946093 Title: DNSSEC passthrough support in dnsmasq To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/946093/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
