[Bug 968911] [NEW] Unity loses windows

2012-03-29 Thread muhalifsirin
Public bug reported:

This bug affects 12.04, Beta 2.

When working with multiple windows from same application, Unity loses
all the windows but the last one user have interacted with.

Here is how you reproduce the bug:

Open multiple Libreoffice Writer windows. Click the Writer's icon on
task panel. It will display all the windows from given app. Then
minimize all windows. Click Writer's icon again. It will display only
the most recent one. Super+w will not bring minimized windows back. They
are lost. Only "Alt + ~" will bring them back.

Public bug reported:

Was installing Pinguy OS 11.04, proceeded past Space allocation and left
computer to install. Came back to find an error, stating that the
installer had crashed and to report bug to

upload two files from /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman. It only
allowed me to closed that dialog and resumed to load the live DVD option

[Bug 968914] [NEW] Tapping leaves launcher and “keyboard shortcuts” open

2012-03-29 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Public bug reported:

When tapping any of the {,,} window management
shortcuts (which, incidentally, are awesome, and I'm very glad I found
them), it seems that Unity doesn't notice that the key has been
released - it continues behaving as if the key was pressed. So,
it has the launcher visible, with the 1, 2, 3, etc overlays for the
launcher tiles visible, and has the ‘keyboard shortcuts’ overlay
visible.

Actually pressing 1, 2, 3, etc doesn't activate the corresponding
launcher tile.

2012-03-29 Thread Eric Miao
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 966173 ***

This is caused by incorrect postinst script in libglib2.0-0. In
debian/libglib2.0-0.postinst.in, around line 16:

  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules|/usr/lib/gio/modules)
# This is triggered everytime an application installs a GIO
# module into /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules or the
# backwards-compatible /usr/lib/gio/modules directory
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/glib-2.0/gio-querymodules
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules /usr/lib/gio/modules
;;

While moved to multi-arch, /usr/lib/gio/modules could be non-existent, thus
gio-querymodules will complain.

[Bug 966173] Re: 0.12 : Unable to open directory /usr/lib/gio/modules: Error opening directory '/usr/lib/gio/modules': No such file or directory

2012-03-29 Thread Eric Miao
This is caused by incorrect postinst script in libglib2.0-0. In
debian/libglib2.0-0.postinst.in, around line 16:

  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules|/usr/lib/gio/modules)
# This is triggered everytime an application installs a GIO
# module into /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules or the
# backwards-compatible /usr/lib/gio/modules directory
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/glib-2.0/gio-querymodules
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules /usr/lib/gio/modules
;;

While moved to multi-arch, /usr/lib/gio/modules could be non-existent,
thus gio-querymodules will complain.

[Bug 858181] Re: oss4-dkms 4.2-build2004-1ubuntu1: oss4 kernel module failed to build (error: conflicting types for ‘fd_set’)

2012-03-29 Thread Bhavani Shankar
Hi Vaibhav,

The debian package which contained the fix was merged in ubuntu quite a
while back as I could see from ubuntu changelogs and fixes were applied
wrt gcc 4.6 c.f.

oss4 (4.2-build2005-2ubuntu1) precise; urgency=low

 * Merge from debian/unstable, remaining changes:
   - debian/patches/ld-as-needed.patch: Rearrange order of linker arguments
to fix building with ld --as-needed
   - debian/patches/os_cmd.patch:
Silence gcc4.6 warnings about unused results.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here.

Also could you please provide a buildlog in oneiric environment here
with the diff from precise applied to fix FTBFS.

Regards
Bhavani

I'm not using ssh session. So, I'm not able to verify that part.

If comparaison can matters, the Lucid version does NOT show the same
behaviour as Oneiric (stop after a while with md5 complaining about too
many opened files).

[Bug 968885] [NEW] Keyboard shortcut overlay activating when not required.

2012-03-29 Thread Michael
Public bug reported:

Regression
Fully repeatable

When using any of the Super+Left/Right/Up/Down commands the keyboard
shortcut overlay activates. The commands function correctly and the
windows adjust as desired. However, the keyboard shortcut overlay
remains and must be Super key'd or ALT key'd away. Long press on Super
will also remove it.

Long press on Super will activate on press and deactivate on release, as
it should.

**All "Super" key shortcuts work as desired.**
**Super+Tab functions correctly and changes programs as it should. **
**Super+Left/Right/Up/Down function correctly.**

Not a dup of #963470 as Tab Switching functions correctly.
Not a dup of #932338 as Workspace Switching functions correctly.

[Bug 968888] [NEW] BT cardbus card and wired NIC incompatibility? 11.10

2012-03-29 Thread tuxwulf
Public bug reported:

When I startup without BT cardbus card inserted in my laptop, here is no issue.
I insert BT cardbus card, and it works, too (although av headset output seems
not available).
lspci adds these lines to the existing list when I insert the bt cardbus card:
03:00.0 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82x UHCI USB 1.1
Controller (rev 62)
03:00.1 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82x UHCI USB 1.1

and this is what happens in dmesg:

When I start up with BT cardbus card inserted, the wired NIC is disabled (lshw
-C network) and I have no idea how to enable it. When I eject the cardbus card,
the wired NIC stays disabled.

Laptop is dualboot: Windows XP has no issues with either situation;
everything works as it should.

dash blur in precise beta 2 is a bit better than oneiric, still not as
smooth as I'd like it to be(*cough gnome shell), and "no blur" option is
completely unusable compare to oneiric.

[Bug 968882] [NEW] ruby gems that use readline report error opening readline.so

2012-03-29 Thread Kensey
Public bug reported:

Background: I have been using rvc to manage an ESXi server -- this is a
Ruby gem that called an API to talk to the server. It wants ffi for
better tab completion, so I also have libffi-ruby installed.

Now whenever I run rvc, I get this:

Error loading readline-ffi: Could not open library 'libreadline.so':
libreadline.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory. Could not open library 'readline.so': readline.so: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory. Tab completion will
be limited.

However, when I strace rvc to see where it's looking for readline and/or
libreadline, I actually see this several times in the output:

open("/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux/readline.so", O_RDONLY) = 3

So readline.so *is* there and ruby *can* (and does) load it, but I am
still getting this error. I'm not sure if it's a bug in the rvc code,
or the ruby runtime itself, but I suspect the runtime so I'm filing it
here.

2012-03-29 Thread karma
i can reproduce it too. see #954742.

steps to reproduce:

1 seahorse → remote → sync and publish keys…
