[Bug 859600] Re: Please convert gnome-keyring to multiarch
For the gnome-keyring package to be considered multi-arch in Precise, surely libgck and libgcr need to be multi-arch as well? Then we can close LP: #998715 for Precise in this SRU. My other concern is what will happen when someone picks up libp11-kit-gnome-keyring in Precise and then upgrades to Quantal? Quantal's gnome-keyring will overwrite libp11-kit-gnome-keyring because its Breaks and Replaces are on a lower version of gnome-keyring. If this gets SRU'd for Precise, surely it must get SRU'd for Quantal as well? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/859600 Title: Please convert gnome-keyring to multiarch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/859600/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1193705] Re: [udev] /dev/disk/by-path missing
While we can technically put /dev/disks/by-path back for ATA devices in Ubuntu, that still won't help upstream ceph on other distros, and I believe this approach is buggy anyway. is_partition() currently looks a bit underdefined/buggy to me, as it's not uncommon to have file systems on unpartitioned block devices (i. e. mounting /dev/sdb directly); this will also completely miss devmapper or other "virtual" devices. To mimic the current behaviou, one could do something like return not os.path.exists('/sys/block/%s' % os.path.basename(dev)) as devices will be there (like /sys/block/sdb), and partitions under that (like /sys/block/sdb/sdb2). But again, that's not really what you want there: Judging by how is_partition() is being used in verify_not_in_use(), it should probably be called is_filesystem() and query udev (CLI example: udevadm info --name=/dev/sda2 | grep ID_FS) or blkid. There are a couple of options how to rewrite these functions, including reading /sys/block/, /proc/partitions, asking blkid, querying udevadm, or querying udisks. If you want a list of block devices with mountable file systems which are present, and don't want to use any extra libraries, then perhaps the simplest thing is udevadm trigger --dry-run --verbose --property- match=ID_FS_USAGE=filesystem (this doesn't need any root privileges). If you want all block devices, then udevadm trigger --dry-run --verbose --subsystem-match=block will give a list, including device-mapper (and also loopback, etc.). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193705 Title: [udev] /dev/disk/by-path missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/1193705/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 859600] Re: Please convert gnome-keyring to multiarch
I've updated the description with more specific instructions on how to test this SRU. As for Depends vs Recommends from debian policy manual: The Depends field should be used if the depended-on package is required for the depending package to provide a significant amount of functionality. The Recommends field should list packages that would be found together with this one in all but unusual installations. I'm kind of inclined to stay with recommends. [Bug 1194363] [NEW] gvfsd-http uses amounts of memory that are beyond the pale
Public bug reported: Process 2662 - gvfsd-http Summary The process gvfsd-http (with pid 2662) is using approximately 164.1 MB of memory. It is using 164.0 MB privately, and a further 900.0 KB that is, or could be, shared with other programs. Dividing up the shared memory between all the processes sharing that memory we get a reduced shared memory usage of 44.0 KB. Adding that to the private usage, we get the above mentioned total memory footprint of 164.1 MB. 879.1 MB is swapped out to disk, probably due to a low amount of available memory left. [Bug 628557] Re: UIDs and GIDs should be at or above 1000, not 100.
Workaround: 1. Let PureAdmin create the user and group with ID at around 100. 2. Close PureAdmin. 3. Change user id and group id to something above 1000 (e.g. "usermod ftpuser -u 1020" and "groupmod ftpgroup -g 1021") 4. Edit /root/.pureadminrc: Replace the values for "defaultuid" and "defaultgid" with the new values you just assigned. 5. Run PureAdmin. You should now be able to use the user management in PureAdmin with the correct user id and group id. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/628557 Title: UIDs and GIDs should be at or above 1000, not 100. [Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share
Could this be a handshake/timing problem? I've experienced this problem on 3 different computers, a 15 yr old IBM ThinkPad notebook, a Compaq notebook with a Celeron 560 CPU, an HP desktop with a dual core E5300 CPU, and noticed that the IBM was most affected and along with the Compaq unable to play a video file off the NAS, the HP was less often affected and could sometimes play a video off the NAS as long as I did not advance the slider several minutes into the video. I just replaced the old IBM notebook with a Samsung NP700G7C having a quad core i7-3630QM CPU and have yet to be affected by the problem, able to transfer more than 36GB of files from the NAS without a problem and able to play videos directly off the NAS without locking up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075923 Title: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/1075923/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1194351] [NEW] CU_basic_show_failures() fails to properly run tests
Public bug reported: When I am building a test for my own library, I notice that the test binaries generated linking against the version of CUnit in the main repo doesn't actually run any tests, but does give an error code which is apparently detached from error messages. This is easily replicable and I have a test program that works like a charm. To contrast, I built the latest version of CUnit from sourceforge and I did not see this same erroneous behavior, it worked just fine. [Bug 991637] Re: unity launcher vanishes when switching to mirrored displays
@Colin, thanks for your guiding. I have verified all of bugs you mentioned on OEM system although I have to use chromium to verify #1122478 instead of steam. :) I don't know who is qualified to set the bug become verification-done if I'm not. But we OEM do want to accelerate this since this issue is blocking certification now. thanks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991637 Title: unity launcher vanishes when switching to mirrored displays To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/991637/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1194340] Re: gvfs does not work on 13.04
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1194340/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: bot-comment -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1194340 Title: gvfs does not work on 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1194340/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1097007] Re: emacs23 will not install on ubuntu 12.10
It seems that either xemacs21 or emacsen-common is broken on your system. If you still have this problem, can you remove and reinstall emacsen-common and see if that helps? If removing xemacs21 from your system altogether is acceptable, try that too. I am setting the Status of this bug report to Incomplete to mark it as pending on further information from you. Feel free to set it back to New once you have supplied the requested input. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and sorry for this very late reply. ** Changed in: emacs23 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1097007 Title: emacs23 will not install on ubuntu 12.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/emacs23/+bug/1097007/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
