It's not an error but perfectly intended behaviour. If the template was to fail, lxc-create would fail and give a clear error message. The message you saw comes from the fact that lxc prevents daemon from starting when preparing the container. This is needed to prevent the installation of openssh-server in the container from restarting the host's ssh server. Hello, so this bug just happened to me. I was running a local juju environment (which uses LXC), and then my computer froze. I used SysRQ + REISUB to reboot it and then my juju-local environment was unable to start. I tracked the problem to /var/lib/dpkg/info/nvidia-prime.postrm: 75 (just as the log says) I have found a fix ( well, almost a fix ). I used sudo leafpad to open the /var/lib/dpkg/info/nvidia-prime.postrm file. I deleted everything between # Restore the alternatives to a non prime # configuration, if possible os_release=$(lsb_release -c | cut -d: -f2 | sed s/\t//g) and update-alternatives --auto $other_arch || true fi fi I was now able to remove it using autoremove and reinstall. Little-bit more details. The keys work, GUI changes and the value in /sys/class/backlight/toshiba/brightness changes from 0 to 7 when changing brightness, however there is no real effect on screen brightness. There is also /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness file, which is not affected when changing backlight. In Trusty it is even worse. After setting one bit - bit panel is locked. Simple test: - switch to Hex mode - type - remove bit 15 - result: panel is locked, and result is unusable for programming = 7,FFF×10³. Result should be 7FFF. It works fine for bits lover then 12. I am experiencing this issue since I upgraded to 13.10 from 13.04. No nVidia card but Intel: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0116] (rev 09) The system does not hang. From my experience it just get stuck trying to open a new VT. It fails to switch to the Greeter and a black screen is shown, but you can go back to your previous VT (CTRL-ALT-F7) or to a new one (e.g. tty1). Hi, thanks for you feedback. You cann't mix ubuntu and foreign packages with the same content. If you want use the ubuntu-package please save the oss setup, sudo apt-get purge oss-linux and reinstall the ubuntu oss4 packages. hmm - thanks for the fast responses. The newer ubuntu dont even recognise the soundcard and dont support it. That was my reason for using the older LTS. I will follow your advice and see what I can achieve with the Lynx One card.
