[Bug 1297224] Re: Improve xen packages and hvm domUs support

2014-05-24 Thread Fantu
Changes tested and working:
http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-users/2014-05/msg00187.html

I did also xendomain init and default update but need to be tested:

[Bug 1007924] Re: pm-utils uses wrong interface for NetworkManager hook (should be org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.Sleep)

2014-05-24 Thread Daniel Hahler
@Andreas Mohr:

1. I would suggest poking the upstream bug report (possibly e-mailing
Victor Lowther (at gmail) directly, who did the latest commits for pm-
utils, see git log of git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/pm-utils).

2. Since there are no Ubuntu related changes, it makes sense to fix it
in Debian (see the Debian bug report).

3. For updating released packages, e.g. for 12.04, see the procedure at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates .

[Bug 1261873] Re: [trusty] usershare access denied error (leads to non working nautilus samba sharing)

2014-05-24 Thread taj
I use the smb.conf that worked like a charm in 12.04 and 13.10, but I cannot
get access anymore from remote (Windows) computers. It does not see the share
anymore.
Message when connecting Win7 machine: The remote device or resource won't
accept the connection - Detected

Nothing has worked so far. I have uninstalled and reinstalled samba packages,
changed valid users in smb.conf. testparm is ok.
samba 2:4.1.6+dfsg i386 is currently running

Sorry for the rant, but I am amazed that trivial issues like this (and
e.g. a file-cannot-be-read-press-enter-to-continue bug after boot) exist
in an LTS version. It is frustrating and a waste of time to fix
something that used to work.

[Bug 1322892] [NEW] SSH ist unable to negotiate a key exchange method after latest update when curve25519 is required

2014-05-24 Thread omni-vi
Public bug reported:

After the latest open-ssh update (6.6p1-2ubuntu2) I can't connect to my debian
servers when I require KexAlgorithms curve25519-sha256 for that connection.
I'm using the homebrew Mac OS version of openssh as client and ubuntu sshd as

get that error nevertheless.

[Bug 1322898] [NEW] squid lens fails with current squid syntax

2014-05-24 Thread Hadmut Danisch
Public bug reported:

Hi,

the squid lens that comes with augeas doesn't know all settings of the

[Bug 1322897] [NEW] syslog spam Failed to get vmstats.

2014-05-24 Thread Patrick Domack
Public bug reported:

open-vm-tools spams syslog every 30seconds with:

[warning] [guestinfo] Failed to get vmstats.

This is cause of the procfs disable on the configure line.
This has been fixed upstream in debian, but hasn't been adjusted yet in ubuntu.

Fix is to remove the --disable-procfs configure option, and to add
libprocps-dev to control deps.

[Bug 1322899] [NEW] pacemaker init script links aren't created on upgrade

2014-05-24 Thread Patrick Domack
Public bug reported:

When upgrading my pacemaker/corosync machines from ubuntu 12.04 to

script is never executed on system startup, causing corosync/pacemaker

Re: [Bug 1317603] Re: qemu-system-ppc does not terminate on VM exit

2014-05-24 Thread Serge Hallyn
Quoting joh...@servergy.com (joh...@servergy.com):
 qemu-system-ppc never terminates.

Assuming you are using the same scripts as in the other bugs, you are passing
-no-shutdown to qemu, asking it to not exit when the guest exits. If you
want qemu to exit when the guest is done, then please remove that flag, and
see if that fixes it.

If you are then manually killing qemu before the guest is done running, that
would also explain why the guest fs is corrupted.

It does not change the the behaviour.
With or without those options the VM qemu-system-ppc session never exits.

 Quoting joh...@servergy.com (joh...@servergy.com):

 Assuming you are using the same scripts as in the other bugs, you are passing
 -no-shutdown to qemu, asking it to not exit when the guest exits. If you
 want qemu to exit when the guest is done, then please remove that flag, and
 see if that fixes it.

 If you are then manually killing qemu before the guest is done running, that
 would also explain why the guest fs is corrupted.

[Bug 1290396] Re: Touchpad not detected on Dell Chromebook 11

2014-05-24 Thread Scott Cazan
For those still having trouble with this, I just got mine working by
merging the ArchLinux cros-haswell-modules.sh script with the Ubuntu one
(just one line that I transferred from one script to another which
contained the proper patch).

Here's my post and the pastebin of the script:

[Bug 1322010] Re: v0.4.7 - print specific page

2014-05-24 Thread Adam Reichold
Hello again,

I installed the Boomaga virtual printer under openSUSE and tested it
using lp with the same results. Hence I'll mark this as invalid as it
is not a bug within qpdfview. I am not even sure if it is a bug at all,
since it might be the intended behaviour of Boomaga as it allows you to
specify the page range itself. In any case, you should try reporting
your problem at [1].

Best regards, Adam.

[Bug 870042] Re: Memory leak in compiz (and maybe Xorg)

2014-05-24 Thread Markus Lutz
I'm not sure, if it is correct to post here, but I had a similar problems since
I updated to ubuntu 14.04 LTS (x86_64k). Sometimes I had more than 500MB for
each compiz and xorg, which once summed up in 1,2 GB. The system was very slow,
then I even thought it had been freezed (but it wasn't), even with a total
memory of 4 GB.
I used the drivers form http://ppa.launchpad.net/oibaf/graphics-drivers/ubuntu,
installed the newest kernel, nothing seemed to help.

Finally I tried installing xserver-xorg-video-ati , which hadn't been
installed, and voila now the system is fast again as it should be,
although it seems as if the same driver (radeon) is used.

Current system:
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (x86_64k), kernel 3.14.1,  [AMD/ATI] RS880 [Radeon HD 4250],
radeon graphic driver ( recent drivers from:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/oibaf/graphics-drivers/ubuntu )

Turns out Raring does not use UUID's here but /dev/sdXY names. That
explains why it used to work (and silently the mint 16 system on sdb

based mint 17 on it...)

[Bug 1317688] Re: xdot crashes on floats in the .dot file

2014-05-24 Thread malheum
The title for this bug is a bit misleading. I do get a crash too, with this
simple graph:

$ cat test-xdot
digraph {
caesar [label = caesar];
lizard [label = lizard];
newton [label = newton];
lizard - newton;
newton - lizard;
caesar - lizard;
lizard - caesar;
}

So I'd say that xdot is currently *totally* broken in 14.0.4

[Bug 1315834] Re: 1002:983d [Acer Aspire V5-122P] Unable to adjust screen brightness using Radeon driver

2014-05-24 Thread Lewis Toohey
I have been asked to test a kernel patch for this bug but I am
struggling to do so.

I am able to obtain the source to the most recent Ubuntu kernel and
compile it. The patch, however, appears to have been written for a later
kernel version. The 3.13 kernel will not compile after applying it. I
believe I need at least 3.14, maybe 3.15.

I am aware of the mainline kernel repository that contains kernels pre-
built upstream kernels for ubuntu. No source is provided.

I need a way to either:
1) get hold of the source for these mainline packages in the same way I can get
the source for the most recent ubuntu kernel; or
2) figure out how to compile the pure kernel source from kernel.org for
Ubuntu.

Can anyone advise before I go back to the kernel devs?

[Bug 1322835] [NEW] Google Street View not working properly on Firefox 29

2014-05-24 Thread Fabrizio Gennari
Public bug reported:

Got to the new Google Maps, https://www.google.com/maps/preview
Click on the Pegman near the bottom right corner
Click on any blue street to enter the new Google Street View.
Google Street View works properly.
Now, click somewhere on the Google Street View screen to move forward along a
street.
Almost always, the view becomes black, while the rest of the screen (road
indication on top left, photos on bottom, small map on the bottom left) are OK.
Exiting Street View with the left arrow next to the road indication on top
left, does not help, the map view is also black. The side elements (search box
etc.) work.
Reloading the page restores the situation.

[Bug 1322836] [NEW] Obesity: Public Health Enemy

More than a difficulty of pretending, fatness can also be a lifetime

Genes, Hormones and Aware Metabolous Cerebration
Scrutiny explore indicates there may be a heritable portion for 40-60% of
persons at peril for nonindustrial fat. Withal, the writer democratic causes

encipher for an cause's metastasis and the additional effects of specified
hormones as; steroid, insulin, triiodothyronine (T3-a thyroid corticoid),
cortef, as cured as, fashion and fare choices.
Chemicals called leptins act as the 'middlemen' messengers between the
mentality and one's fat cells effecting drive and the idea of fullness.
Pronounce, soprano supermolecule meals, want of lesson, and in any women
supplemental steroid from the use of nativity suppress pills - flat Premarin™ -

that oestrogen promotes an process in the size and merchandise of fat cells.
Accent releases corticoid from the adrenal organ. This secretion
single-handedly impacts on your endocrine, steroid and macromolecule
metastasis. Superior cortisol levels will act solon oestrogen and decrement
triiodothyronine the powerhouse thyroid endocrine that drives cadre metastasis.
Lyceum carbohydrate diets transude insulin. In few patients it mightiness not

this burden, fat (adipose tissue) is a prima publication of steroid metabolism

hyperestrogenism in women as I discussed in a old article in April 2002 take of
Conscious Quality.
Fatness is formed as beingness 20% over the model or delectable weight, and
strict fat as beingness 40% above delectable weight. For example, if your
normal/desirable metric is 135 pounds and you afoot coefficient is 161 pounds
you are already thoughtful fat. If you normal/ideal weight is 135 pounds and
your actual weight is 192, you are wise seriously obese. Anything above 40% is

Fast gimmicks, much as grapefruit binging, metabolite enhancers, fat and

[Bug 1007924] Re: pm-utils uses wrong interface for NetworkManager hook (should be org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.Sleep)

2014-05-24 Thread Daniel Hahler
@Andreas Mohr:

[Bug 1315510] Re: EDS (Evolution) contacts integration is missing

2014-05-24 Thread RastaPopoulos
I confirm the loss.

I used to put my real contacts in this adress book because they were
then accessible in different contexts : Thunderbird, standalone Contacts
app, Empathy, etc. Now I have to duplicate all contents…

[Bug 1308295] Re: synaptic crashes after installing updates

2014-05-24 Thread Miguel de Freitas Fonseca
Hi, AGAIN, the issue, somehow got resolved in Gnome 3.10, but it came back on
Gnome 3.12 after I installed it using the Gnome Staging PPA (with the Gnome
normal PPA together!).
 I already removed (purged) Synaptic and located every bit of files and
directorys link to it, remove them too and reinstalled it again.
 The issue is exactly the same!
 I open it, it hangs for 3 to 5 minutes! Fan going crazy and processors at full
speed/work!

 I use the quick seach search box and the hanging starts again for 2 or 3
minutes.
 Then, choose a packge, either to install or remove and the problem continues!

 It installs or unistalls with no issues, but them, when starts loading
the data base, again the issue!

 And the most incredible is that takes about 1 or more minutes to close
Synaptic, choosing the menu File-Close!

 So the question is, you some whow detect and resolved the issue on
Gnome 3.10, then why in God's name it exists on Gnome 3.12?!

 If the problem was detect and solved, why you let it repeat on the next
version of Gnome?!

 This is not a new bug! This is an old and solved bug that returned!

 I hope for a reply this time, or it will be the last time ever that I
will report a bug!

 Because it's my third bug report with not even a SINGLE REPLY!

 I'm sick off it!

 Waiting for a answer,

 Miguel Fonseca from Portugal.

[Bug 1249940] Re: Thunderbird picks incorrect mime type for inline picture when drag-and-dropping

2014-05-24 Thread Sparhawk
Gordon, some Apple Mail.app users have told me that they can still see
the images if they rename the suffix. I suppose they have to guess what
the format is, though.
