[Bug 1380747] Re: SST on IPv6 fails for xtrabackup-v2

2014-10-13 Thread Mario Splivalo
** Description changed:

I have three nodes configured on a ipv4+ipv6 mixed network. Both of my
nodes have ipv4 and ipv6 addresses, however I have configured percona to
use only ipv6. I am able to connect to 3306 port from/to each of the
  machines using only ipv6.

Due to issues with having IPv6 addresses in the configuration file I
added the hostnames of the participating nodes in /etc/hosts file, with
accompanying IPv6 addresses so that I'm sure that all the traffic goes
  over IPv6.

However, joiners can't receive data from donor because 'socat' on joiner
  is only listeninig on ipv4:

  mysql20553 20394 0 18:17 pts/100:00:00 socat -u TCP-
  LISTEN:,reuseaddr stdio

If, using the hostname, I try to connect, from donnor node to joiner
  node, I can't connect:

  root@machine-1:/var/lib/mysql# telnet machine-2
  Trying 2001:db8:1:0:f816:3eff:fea4:2dd8...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused

When I use ipv4 address, all is good:

  root@machine-1:/var/lib/mysql# host machine-2
  machine-2.openstacklocal has address 10.5.19.139
  root@machine-1:/var/lib/mysql# telnet 10.5.19.139
  Trying 10.5.19.139...
  Connected to 10.5.19.139.
  Escape character is '^]'.

Of course, when I force socat to use TCP6-LISTEN (by hacking into the
- /usr/bin/wsrep_sst_xtrabackup-v2, SST finishes fine.
+ /usr/bin/wsrep_sst_xtrabackup-v2) SST finishes fine.

-
- (As a workaround, when using rsync as a wsrep_sst_method, I am able to
complete the SST, regardless of the issue mentioned in bug #1315528).
+ (As a workaround, when using rsync as a wsrep_sst_method, I am able to

[Bug 658474] Re: After suspend, all gabble/jabber accounts in Empathy report "Network Error" and do not reconnect

2014-10-13 Thread Richard Ulrich
I have the same problem still with ubuntu 14.04, and have had it for a long
time. Can't ecactly tell since when. But it must have been years.
It's reproducible. It happens every time after resume. Maybe not if the resume
lasted only for half a minute.
What may contribute is the fact, that I configured a global socks proxy that
only connects after I enter the pin for my smartcard.

[Bug 1303564] Re: Please update rkhunter to 1.4.2

This also affects Trusty, not just LTS.

Every day I get the same output from the cronjob

Error: Invalid display - keyword cannot be found: Display line: display
--to LOG --type INFO CONFIG_ROOTDIR_DFLT

And the rkhunter log shows the same as the OP:

[07:03:11] Warning: Download of 'i18n.ver' failed: Unable to determine
the latest version number.

We can surely do something about this for the latest release of Ubuntu
if not LTS..

Maybe simpler test is run one of the map services in browser (i.e.

finger keeps touch with a touchpad. Very annoying.

[Bug 1296027] Re: mixxx assert failure: mixxx: pcm.c:2731: snd_pcm_area_copy: asserzione \"dst < src || dst >= src + bytes\" non riuscita.

2014-10-13 Thread Daniel Schürmann
According to this post [1], the issue should be fixed with
libasound2 1.0.27.2
which is part of Trusty
(File time 2014-4-10)

Since the backtracks are of a later date, It is probably not fixed.

Please check and report which version of libasound2 is uses.

It would be also helpful to generate the back trace again with debug
symbols in place.

sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-dbg libasound2-dbg

Thank you.

[Bug 1380881] [NEW] Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs

2014-10-13 Thread Nikolay Turpitko
Public bug reported:

I've recently updated to the kernel 3.13.0-37 from the main repository
and got this issue again (I had similar issue before with 3.11.0-15, see
Bug #1265971). I tried to update to 3.13.0-38 from ppa:canonical-kernel-
team/ppa, but the issue remains.

I'm not sure, but suspect that it's related to my SanDisk SSD U100
drive, another my notebook upgraded without any problem.

I'm reportin this bug booting from the previous kernel, so automatically
gathered kernel version info isn't actual.

[Bug 1034132] Re: [MacBook2,1] Touchpad cursor moving in steps

2014-10-13 Thread Clinton
xorg is wrong anyway - this is a kernel bug. Fix was accepted upstream
in the 3.15 kernel meaning it will be in Ubuntu 14.10. That seems like
it qualifies as "Fix Committed" to me but I'll leave it to you to flip
the switch (or not).

[Bug 1380737] Re: 0 ad doesn't start. It doesn't find pyrogenesis

2014-10-13 Thread Vincent Cheng
Yes, the /usr/games/0ad wrapper script depends on the pyrogenesis binary
being installed somewhere in $PATH (in the Debian/Ubuntu packages it's
installed as /usr/games/pyrogenesis); /usr/games is by default included
in non-root users' $PATH.

I think it's better to avoid such informative messages by default but
add the possibility of enabling it. In my understanding
.session-errors should record stuff that's at least Warning priority
level and the output from im-config doesn't fit into the category
well..

Just 2 cents.

Yes indeed. I realised that yesterday.

So this bug might be invalid in the presence of BufferQueue, but the
class design safety in isolation should probably still be improved.

2014-10-13 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Robert Hrovat, that is a WORKAROUND, not a fix. If you want a fix, you
would need to test the latest kernel (3.17).

** Description changed:

The Touchpad on my Asus X750 does not work.

+ WORKAROUND: Find the line that mentions GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX and add the flag:
+ sudo nano /etc/default/grub
+ GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042.noloop=1 psmouse.proto=bare"
+
+ Then save the file, run a grub update, and restart:

[Bug 1380276] Re: WiFi disconnects and unable to discover network until reboot after upgrading to linux 3.13.0.37

2014-10-13 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Anshul Ranjan, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from
the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder) following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Once you've tested the upstream
kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this
bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested exactly
shown as:
kernel-fixed-upstream-3.17

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1375893] Re: Black background to Try/Install Dialogue

2014-10-13 Thread Sean Davis
I've found a potential workaround to this issue...

1) Add "feh" package to the live installation.
2) Remove lines 400-403 from
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/utopic/ubiquity/utopic/view/head:/bin/ubiquity-dm#L400

To test...
1) Boot live image.
2) Switch to TTY1
3) Comment out lines 400-403 in the above file.
4) Install the "feh" package.
5) Stop processes: sudo stop lightdm ; sudo stop ubiquity ; sudo pkill -9 X
6) Start ubiquity: sudo start ubiquity

Ubiquity now displays the background.

[Bug 1373404] Re: No warning of high volume level

2014-10-13 Thread Ricardo Salveti
One easy way in the indicator to know if the active port a
headphone/headset: http://paste.ubuntu.com/8556022/

I think we should do the following:
1 - Check if the active port is headset;
2 - If headset, see if the volume for the multimedia role is higher than 75%.
If higher, change it to 75% (this is basically what is done on Android). This
check can be done once at every reboot (or every time someone plugs a
headphone/headset).
3 - When changing volume for the multimedia role, warn the user if higher than
75%.

You can also do the same for the other roles, but generally we are only
concerned with multimedia.

2014-10-13 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I noticed that you are installing an older version of
Ubuntu, unless you have some specific requirements to run an older
release I recommend trying to install the latest LTS version of Ubuntu.
We released version 14.04.1, in July of 2014, and it is a Long Term
Support release. You can find different ways to obtain it at
http://download.ubuntu.com. In the event that you really want to run
the older version of Ubuntu please set this bug's status back to New.
Thanks!
