[Bug 1348007] Re: xhci_hcd: Setup ERROR: setup context command for slot n.
This bug still exists on 3.17.1-031701-generic #201410150735 As a workaround you can unbind and bind the xhci drivers - http://www.geekdevs.com/2010/04/solved-unable-to-enumerate-usb-device- disabling-ehci_hcd/. Instead of ehci_hcd, I used xhci_hcd and USB started working again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1348007 Title: xhci_hcd: Setup ERROR: setup context command for slot n. This looks fine to me. ScottK assures me that the embedded copy is the same version, so this is really just shuffling code around to make it less opaque and more maintainable. Public bug reported: Availability: libmspack is already be in Ubuntu universe and built for all architectures. Rationale: Clamav has used an embedded copy of libmspack for some time. In the current release, the ability to use an external, system version has been added. This would be better. Effectively the code is in Main already via clamav. Moving the libmspack package to Main is a better, more maintainable way to have it there. This is also used in LibreOffice, so having the system version in Main should help there too. Security: The security history and the current state of security issues in the package must allow us to support the package for at least 9 months (60 for LTS support) without exposing its users to an inappropriate level of security risks. This requires checking of several things that are explained in detail in the subsection Security checks. Quality assurance: Package is a library that needs no configuration and asks no questions. There are no open bugs in Debian or Ubuntu. Upstream seems quiescent, but not dead. There do not appear to be any long term issues that would impact supportability. There are no open bugs in Ubuntu or Debian, but I couldn't find an upstream bug tracker: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libmspack https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?repeatmerged=no&src=libmspack The package is well done and meets standard MIR requirements such a symbols file, watch file, etc. The package does not deal with exotic hardware. UI standards: N/A Dependencies: All depends/build-dep are in Main Standards compliance/Maintenance: Standards compliance is good. Packaging is a very vanilla dh7 with autofoo package that is trivial to understand. Maintained in Debian and synced. If approved, I'll subscribe the clamav team to bugs. This is a pretty simple package. Background information: See above. Already in Main due to embedding in clamav and other packages. Security checks Check how many vulnerabilities the package had in the past and how they were handled by upstream and the Debian/Ubuntu package: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvekey.cgi?keyword=libmspack - Three CVEs one in 2005 (of the embedded copy in clamav) and two in 2010. Nothing since. http://secunia.com/advisories/search/?search=libmspack reports are similar. All are resolved. Ubuntu CVE Tracker: Nothing listed. Security relevant binaries: This is a package that unpacks various formats of often untrusted data (particularly in the clamav use) so it's inherently security sensitive to a degree. ** Affects: libmspack (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: New ** Changed in: libmspack (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386991 Title: [MIR] libmspack To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libmspack/+bug/1386991/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1380683] Re: Web app requiring account, and "Online Accounts" account screen, disappear without explanation
QNAM does indeed block at startup. Unfortunately, the QtBearer backend needs to perform synchronously in order for QNAM to perform correctly. There is room for optimization in the NetworkManager backend so it uses property cache with one blocking call per interface (that need it) instead of the current method. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1380683 Title: Web app requiring account, and "Online Accounts" account screen, disappear without explanation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtbase-opensource-src/+bug/1380683/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1386973] [NEW] Ubuntu 14.10 soft lockup with ATI Radeon R7 250 X
Public bug reported: I have a VGA controller Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Cape Verde XT [Radeon HD 7770/8760 / R7 250X]. When I boot from the Utopic DVD I get to the language menu and I can select try ubuntu without installing, but after a few sencods I get "BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 22s!'" and the message just repeats every 22 secods forever. I tried setting nomodeset using the F6 menu, but I got exactly the same result. This is Ubuntu 14.10 64 bits which basically seems unable to boot with that hardware. The experience was the same with 14.04, but I thought 14.10 would be better. In 14.04 disabling the video card and booting off the integrated graphics let me set nomodeset in /etc/default/grub and I was able boot with the R7 250X with the VESA driver. Installed Catalyst afterwards. ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Screenshot of the kernel soft lockup message on boot." https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386973/+attachment/4247743/+files/20141029_001822.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386973 Title: Ubuntu 14.10 soft lockup with ATI Radeon R7 250 X To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1386973/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

John Moser, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://global.shuttle.com/products/productsDownload?productId=1477 an update to your BIOS is available (206). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . [Bug 185986] Re: WebDAV extremely slow
Same on Ubuntu 13.10, 14.04 and 14.10. Not using Nautilus or any other general purpose GUI file browser (only MC/ls and GNOME dialogs sometimes), uplink is fast enough, but if you want to upload/download some files more than 10MB in size each everything becomes inresponsive. For instance, if you mount to /path/point then «ls /path» will get stuck. For instance, I run BOINC client with homedir there, and I can't connect to it with [G]UI. This all is because davfs is very single- threaded. It even doesn't use ¼ bandwidth, although it could do, for instance, 2 threads for upload, 2 for download, if necessary. gui_optimize set to 1 — doesn't help (and not designed to help with this) cache size set to handle 6GB which is quite enough to handle most of upload batches I fed it with. [Bug 1372847] Re: [SRU] New stable release 2.40.1
I rebooted shortly after this update and it seems to have broken our IPv4 firewalls. The IPv6 tunnel through sixxs.net still seems to work. Connectivity for the fiewall itself was fine, but most everything on the LAN ground to a halt. One machine is Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit with ufw and the other is Ubuntu 14.04 32 bit using shorewall. I downgraded the libglib2.0-0_2.40.0-2_i386.deb and libglib2.0-data_2.40.0-2_all.deb on the 32 bit machine and reconfigured dhcpd to change the gateway and we are back on the net. I'll try some other tests on the 64 bit machine later or tonight, or more likely tomorrow. I should note that it is possible some other odd networking issue from our local cable company is causing this, but if it is the library, it is going to be ugly for a lot of people using Ubuntu firewalls if this isn't fixed soon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1372847 Title: [SRU] New stable release 2.40.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/+bug/1372847/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1289977] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 Update breaks grub, resulting in "error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found"
I have only encountered this if [for example] I had grub originally installed in some pbr (eg; sda6) and I later changed the location to the mbr (eg; sda) using grub-install /dev/sda rather than using dpkg- reconfigure grub-pc. Then apparently the release-upgrade reads the prior dpkg info therefore installing grub in the wrong location.
