[Bug 1391452] [NEW] lxc-net fails to start properly after system crash: lock file
Public bug reported: The presence of /var/lock/lxc-net causes service lxc-net start to claim success but actually just do nothing useful. When the system goes down hard, /var/lock/lxc-net is not removed, fair enough. This means that systems require manual intervention after booting. You can reproduce the problem by crashing some processes and fiddling with lock-files, but this happens at every single hard reboot: faux@alohura:~% sudo service lxc-net stop lxc-net stop/waiting ## the presence of other dnsmasqs makes this all confusing to me, so let's just kill them anyway, even if they were started by NetworkManager faux@alohura:~% sudo killall dnsmasq faux@alohura:~% sudo killall dnsmasq dnsmasq: no process found ## simulate the lock-file being left over from a hard reboot faux@alohura:~% sudo touch /var/lock/lxc-net faux@alohura:~% sudo service lxc-net start lxc-net start/running ## we haven't bothered to start dnsmasq (or create the bridge interface or..) faux@alohura:~% ps aux | fgrep dnsmasq faux 10592 0.0 0.0 13680 2064 pts/4S+ 09:58 0:00 grep -F dnsmasq ## so containers won't start faux@alohura:~% lxc-start -n new lxc-start: lxc_start.c: main: 337 The container failed to start. lxc-start: lxc_start.c: main: 339 To get more details, run the container in foreground mode. lxc-start: lxc_start.c: main: 341 Additional information can be obtained by setting the --logfile and --logpriority options. faux@alohura:~% lxc-start -F -n new Error attaching veth494WIK to lxcbr0 Quota reached lxc-start: start.c: lxc_spawn: 930 failed to create the configured network lxc-start: start.c: __lxc_start: 1087 failed to spawn 'new' lxc-start: lxc_start.c: main: 337 The container failed to start. lxc-start: lxc_start.c: main: 341 Additional information can be obtained by setting the --logfile and --logpriority options. faux@alohura:~% The error message from lxc-start is very poor, too. This can be worked around by blowing away the lockfile, then restarting lxc-net. [Bug 517067] Re: Using virtio for block devices makes disks and partitions disappear in KVM/QEMU (using vmbuilder and libvirt)
Hi guys, I'm stuck on this, so I've made a patch. I'm not sure how to test it, perhaps someone give me some pointers? I tried out this bzr thing and it's super crazy. I can't find out how to fork and submit a pull request. I browsed through the commands of bzr and there was some launchpad stuff but none of it worked, either 500 exceptions or plain nothing happens. Then I found out I can't even few the patch after it was committed, but I could do send with -o to a file, so that's what I'm attaching. Sorry for whining :) hopefully we can work out if this patch is going to fix this issue. ** Attachment added: patch https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vm-builder/+bug/517067/+attachment/4258320/+files/patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517067 Title: Using virtio for block devices makes disks and partitions disappear in KVM/QEMU (using vmbuilder and libvirt) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vm-builder/+bug/517067/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1368737] Re: Pacemaker can seg fault on crm node online/standby
The way this package's versioning was made makes the tool dh_makeshlibs (debian helper) not to append proper suffix to dependencies (using (= 1.1.10+git20130802) instead of (= 1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu2.1) for example). I changed debian/rules so the proper version is considered for dependencies: dh_makeshlibs -a -V dh_makeshlibs -plibcrmcommon3 -V libcrmcommon3 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibpengine4 -V libpengine4 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibpe-status4 -V libpe-status4 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibcrmservice1 -V libcrmservice1 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibtransitioner2 -V libtransitioner2 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibcib3 -V libcib3 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibpe-rules2 -V libpe-rules2 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibcrmcluster4 -V libcrmcluster4 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -plibstonithd2 -V libstonithd2 (= $(RELEASE)) dh_makeshlibs -pliblrmd1 -V liblrmd1 (= $(RELEASE)) And I recommend further releases not to use this versioning scheme, to guarantee dh_makeshlibs to work properly. Re: [Bug 1382257] Re: [SRU] Add readme to Azure's ephemeral (resource) disk
Chris, the upload for Trusty is correct, at least according to guidance I have received from the foundations team in the past. The guidance is that when the only difference between what is in a prior release and the current development release is the same sans the topic of the SRU, to backport the entire package. Since 15.04 has walinux_2.0.8-0ubunut3, and the only difference between ubuntu1 and ubuntu3 is the warning script, I simply backported the 15.04 package to 14.04 and 14.10. [Bug 1388046] Re: Cannot edit APN when switching to Manually for slot 2
@mpt, right, I was confused when I reported the bug, and thought that the Manually/Automatically switches referred to the APN. So I'll try to clarify this. The APN is a set of configuration data needed to open a cellular data connection. This data is operator specific, but not network specific. That is, the data depends on who you pay at the end of the month, not on the network you are registered in at a given moment. Specifically, the APN does not change when you are roaming and you are not connected to your home network. Operators connect to each other so when you open a cellular data connection the APN data travels through the visited network to your operator so it validates it. As the APN data is static you should be able to edit it whenever the phone is powered and has a SIM card (even if you are not registered in any network at that moment), as with the data on the SIM you can know who is your operator. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1388046 Title: Cannot edit APN when switching to Manually for slot 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1388046/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1323645] Re: [MacBookPro11, 1] Suspend delayed because of some timeout issue
Mid2014 Macbook Pro Retina here. Same issue, but the effect is even worse. It literally takes half a minute until suspend happens (you can see it by using pm-suspend instead of closing the lid, because you can watch keyboard backlight then). Problem is: Suspend sometimes fails and then the Mac wakes up again, even if lid is closed. And it does not make any efforts to go to sleep again. This is CRITICAL, because if you close your laptop, put it in your back, then you will find out hours later that it was running all the time, with high risk to overheat damage. Of course nowadays the CPU will switch off before it burns, but it still was much too hot and may do damage to other parts of the computer like batteries and SSD. I run 14.10 since October, and suspend worked fine for the first weeks, but for a few days now it wakes up very often when lid is closed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1323645 Title: [MacBookPro11,1] Suspend delayed because of some timeout issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1323645/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1391417] [NEW] Unity displaces large wine desktops with fullscreen game
Public bug reported: Ubuntu release: Ubuntu 14.10 Wine: 1:1.6.2-0ubuntu6 GPU: Intel HD 4000+Nvidia GeForce 820M Nvidia drivers: nvidia-331-updates Expected behaviour: Using winecfg to set a virtual desktop the same size as your screen (say 1366x768) and then running a game one would expect the wine desktop to cover the entire screen. What happens: Unity displaces the wine desktop down and to the right so you end up with the right and bottom of the desktop outside of the display. The size of this displacement is the same as the height of the top menu and the width of the bar. This seem to only affect games that are set to run fullscreen and not wine programs such as notepad. This did not happen with wine 1.4 in 13.10 but did also happen with wine1.6 and wine.17 on 13.10. [Bug 1391416] [NEW] file transfer source and target are impossible to retrieve from information in file transfer dialog (name isn't sufficient)

[Bug 1391422] [NEW] GeForce 820M running very hot in Ubuntu
Public bug reported: Ubuntu release: Ubuntu 14.10 Wine: 1:1.6.2-0ubuntu6 GPU: Intel HD 4000+Nvidia GeForce 820M Nvidia drivers: nvidia-331-updates Expected behaviour: GPU temperature should not be excessively high when running OpenGL games. What happens: The GPU temperature gets very high when running OpenGL games. For example, running The Talos Principle Public Beta from Steam in Ubuntu the GPU temperature will go up to 95-98C but running the same in Windows 8.1 (on the same laptop) the temperature stays below 80. [Bug 1391427] [NEW] udev doesn't create symlink in /dev/disks/by-path/ for sata drives due to missing ID_PATH parameter
Public bug reported: I've upgraded my machines from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS as suggested. After the update I found that the folder /dev/disks/by-path was not filled anymore. I investigated the issue thinking that it was due to a missing rule. The problem seems to be related to a missing parameter ID_PATH that is needed to create the symlink. Since I haven't found any documentation on this I think that it's not a wrong configuration, but something missing in the udev package. ** Affects: udev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: precise udev -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391427 Title: udev doesn't create symlink in /dev/disks/by-path/ for sata drives due to missing ID_PATH parameter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/1391427/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
