[Bug 1185701] Re: etree.iterparse() raises lxml.etree.XMLSyntaxError: None

2015-02-06 Thread scoder
That's unrelated to this ticket. It's due to incorrect usage of
iterparse(). Please read the documentation. Passing a parser into
iterparse() is not possible and the second argument of iterparse() is
not for what the author of the code apparently thinks it is.

[Bug 222208]

2015-02-06 Thread Leho Kraav
Eric, you're right, this bug actually has a split personality for me.

1. Saved passwords are not getting automatically used
2. Some (exact criteria unknown) login and password combos are not getting
saved at all, despite repeated form fills (comment 67)

They may or may not have the same underlying mechanism responsible.
Pointers to more related bugs are welcome here.

SPE addon fixes scenario 2, which is even worse, because you have to
manually copy/paste from another password db like KeePass on every
Thunderbird startup.

But yes, I still have to Enter key currently through 4 authentication
prompts, an amount which can only increase. Still, thanks to SPE, my
life is incrementally better now and I can focus on looking for a
solution to scenario 1.

[Bug 1418392] Re: openstackclient quota show command has problems with columns

2015-02-06 Thread Dean Troyer
We don't do stable releases (yet?), we only roll forward. There may be
de facto stable releases at some point for the actual client libs, of
which OSC is not one, for stable branch testing that requires some fix.

Since the bug is in cliff, simply installing an updated cliff release
should take care of it. In a fresh install, pip will install the latest
release as we do not cap cliff in our requirements.

I can not speak to what can/will happen with packaged releases of OSC.

[Bug 801073] Re: [dash] Dash is shown when pressing and releasing quickly super+KEY

2015-02-06 Thread Jorge Morais
On Ubuntu 14.10 this still happens, and annoys me. It happens both on
my laptop and my work desktop. Interestingly, Super+s and Super+w work
fine even if I type them extremely quickly, but Super+a does not work
and inputs 'a' to the focused application instead of opening the
application lens. Analogous problems occur with Super+f, Super+m,
Super+c and Super+v.

[Bug 390508] Re: notifyOSD ignores the expire timeout parameter

2015-02-06 Thread Vanessa Lee
It would be great if they would accept that, but this is an issue they
won't fix.

If they did accept your manual page fix, someone down the line would
say, hey, wouldn't it be great if we could add a timeout option?

Then the cycle of madness repeats (with a longer circumferance).

[Bug 1416906] Re: force user no longer works

2015-02-06 Thread Dave Chiluk
As far as I can tell the offending commit was introduced with
samba-4.1.0rc1, and the fix is contained in 4.1.7. So Utopic is fine.

I also checked precise, and precise does not contain the commit that
caused the regression.

@Brian, I'm waiting for feedback that this resolves the issue before I
move forward with an SRU.

[Bug 1314095] Re: Unity Lockscreen in 14.04 can't unlock when using LDAP account

2015-02-06 Thread Ryan Tandy
This seems to be fixed in later releases. Using lib{nss,pam}-ldapd and
nslcd, with no custom configuration beyond dpkg-reconfigure nslcd, I
experience this bug in trusty, but not in utopic or vivid.

Also, in trusty I do not experience it when using alternative lockers
such as gnome-screensaver or light-locker, only with the Unity
lockscreen.

Setting status back to Confirmed, and I'll try to isolate the change
that fixed it.

[Bug 1362469] Re: AppArmor unrequested reply protection generates unallowable denials

2015-02-06 Thread Seth Arnold
Good work. I think you're right, most policy authors would rather just
drop the unrequested replies, so dropping them on the floor silently
feels like the path of least surprise.

Maybe it would be useful to provide some debug logging option for these
but I doubt it'd ever repay the time it would take to add one. If it's
easier than I suspect, though, maybe..

Thanks

[Bug 1419151] [NEW] OpenPower needs backport of PowerNV OPAL i2c driver

2015-02-06 Thread Benjamin Herrenschmidt
Public bug reported:

The Open Power machines need the driver that was merged in 3.19 backported. The
commit upstream
is 470834508f87877f680738a10a305280582c7aed i2c: Driver to expose PowerNV
platform i2c busses

This exposes the i2c busses of the machine which are controlled via the OPAL
firmware. This is among
other things, necessary for manufacturing configuration of VPDs etc..., but
will also enable Linux access
to some i2c devices such as the TPM.

We wish to have this in utopic and if possible trusty.

[Bug 1419125] [NEW] Utopic update to 3.16.7-ckt5 stable release

2015-02-06 Thread Brad Figg
Public bug reported:

SRU Justification

Impact:
The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly from Linus' tree or in a minimally
backported form of that patch. The 3.16.7-ckt5 upstream stable
patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu
   kernel as well.

   git://git.kernel.org/

TEST CASE: TBD

The following patches are in the 3.16.7-ckt5 stable release:

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Utopic)

[Bug 1416906] Re: force user no longer works

2015-02-06 Thread Dave Chiluk
As far as I can tell the offending commit was introduced with
samba-4.1.0rc1, and the fix is contained in 4.1.7. So Utopic is fine.

I also checked precise, and precise does not contain the commit that
caused the regression.

@Brian, I'm waiting for feedback that this resolves the issue before I
move forward with an SRU.

[Bug 1364025] Re: system-config-printer fails with cups-client talking to cups 1.3 server

2015-02-06 Thread ubuntu-tester
system-config-printer-gnome 1.4.3+20140219-0ubuntu2.5
python-cups 1.9.66-0ubuntu2
libcups2 1.7.2-0ubuntu1.2

I use 1.7.2 CUPS clients with a 1.4.2 CUPS server.

To access to print menu in any applications, it was very slow (about 2
minutes), I have configured the version=1.1 option in /etc/cups
client.conf, and now all works fine except system-config-printer so it
may confirm that it doesn't respect the version=1.1 option in
client.conf and still use IPP 2.0.

Hasn't been any activity recently? Has anyone tried to fix it? I can
confirm that it happens 100% of the time on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS using both
RDP and VNC remotes.

Start Remmina, connect to remote PC with RDP or VNC. The remote screen
starts off center. Have to manually center the screen to view the
remote.

[Bug 1419131] [NEW] Can't unlock screen saver with pam_mysql

2015-02-06 Thread Mitch Claborn
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Release:14.04
unity:
  Installed: 7.2.4+14.04.20141217-0ubuntu1

We are using pam_mysql to login to the workstation. Excerpt from
/etc/pam.d/lightdm.conf:

auth required pam_mysql.so verbose=1 user=x passwd=x
db= host=xxx table=operator usercolumn=username
passwdcolumn=password crypt=0 where=operator.enabled=1

There is a similar line in /etc/pam.d/gnome-screensaver

Login to the workstation works fine. Up until this week, unlocking the
screen saver worked fine also. Now it is not working to unlock from the
screen saver. I added the verbose=1 option and can see the logging when
user logs in, but no logging shows up when the user attempts to unlock
the screen saver, leading me to believe it is not calling pam_mysql.

I tried a similar config in /etc/pam.d/unity but that did not help.

This are the entries from /var/log/apt/history.log from the day it stopped
working:

[Bug 1417834] Re: Incorrect language translations on LiveCD

2015-02-06 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Also confirming for Vivid.

However, the issue is that *some* translations exist for these
languages. For example, the partitioning confirmation dialog appears to
be translated for Welsh (Cymraeg). That's the reason why the languages
are listed.

Most of the job here would be to complete the translations for some of
these languages, something I unfortunately can't do myself.

Marking as Triaged/Medium, but I get the feeling we should rather close
this bug as Invalid (ie. not a bug), since it's a matter of (sadly)
imcomplete translations.

[Bug 1419168] [NEW] Creating a hidden directory let temporarly a directory named New Directory

2015-02-06 Thread gael
Public bug reported:

I have created a new directory named .env in my home, with right-click New
Directory. When I pressed Enter to validate the name, the hidden directory
was... hidden (!), which is quite logic, but there was at its place a directory
named witth the default name of a new one New directory. If I refresh, all
returns to normal: New directory is no more here.

It's not a really bug, but the New Directory should not appears.

[Bug 1358340] Re: [Indicators] Complete greeter profiles

2015-02-06 Thread Michael Terry
OK, after looking at this some more, I'm not going to implement comment
#26 yet. There was one case left off that complicated matters (locked
and A is on but B is off -- in this case, we'd enable indicators even
though they asked us not to? We could disable A when B is off, but they
are in separate screens and not obviously connected).

So my current thinking is to land a branch that enables all the
underpinnings of the shell changing profiles on the fly, but just not
use it quite yet until the settings panel design is done. This support
would also be useful for a split greeter. So it's all good changes.
But I'm going to hold off on actually using the dynamic profile
switching logic.

So to be clear, I'm not going to make the A option visible yet, nor
change how B disables/enables the indicators when locked. But I will
land some code that makes such changes much easier in future.

[Bug 1419155] [NEW] changing nvidia drivers (under system settings) blows up unity/compiz (probably only config file - for current user [under guest account works fine])

2015-02-06 Thread Sebastian Łepczyński
Public bug reported:

There was default nouveau driver, but these one freezes ubuntu while
after login (on nvidia gti 5xx cards), so i installed recommended nvidia
binary driver 331, but there was some problems (like spreading windows
causes some strange flickering in unity/compiz), so i tried the
nvidia-331-updates driver from system settings, but then i couldn't do
aptitude upgrade (there was some errors about nvidia blocking dkpg
--reconfigure), so i tried to go back to nouveau driver (but changing
driver from system settings was imposible) so i uninstalled al nvidia-*
packages, installed nvidia-common, echoed `nouveau` to /etc/modules and
reboot.

Any way, this didn't work out.

At the moment no window manager after login on my user.

Is there any way to get back default config?

Mayby that's important, but on the guest account everything is fine.
Wokrs as expected.

[Bug 1419167] [NEW] Keyboard Layout Troubles for Swiss-German at Setup

2015-02-06 Thread Clément Meur
Public bug reported:

When launching ubuntu Setup from CD i realized a small error that
happens when I install Ubuntu 14.04.1-amd64

Case 1, Install-Gui with proposed keyboard Input:

After selecting German language and my location in the Setup it proposes the
Keyboard layouts from Switzerland but when typing in the test field I actually
got the German keymap (Instead of Swiss-German) which i know and differs a lot.
The error persists even when selecting the other Swiss-layouts.
You can just ignore that wrong layout ond go on with installation.
On the next screen where you enter username, etc the keyboard layout switched
to the correct one.

After a reboot it actually has the correct layout on Login-Screen and also
after Login. The correct layout was installed.
You can select us and swiss-german and both are present under input methods.

This means that the error is just on the Test Field but it gets worse if
you try auto-detect!

Case 2, Using auto-detect because of the wrong letters on the test field:

When I click on auto-detect:
I press Y (Z on US),
then it asks if ö exists and asks to press it (: colon next to L on US).
Last question is if é (; Shift+colon on US) does exist which is true.
I wrote the US keys to make it easyier to reproduce.

In the list on the right side all Switzerland... entries were gone and
Shweiz was selected which wasn't there before to choose.
This way it selects the right layout for the test field.

but this is only true for the test field and for the next step when you
enter your username, etc. Here it still looks good.

Even if it appears right at this time after installation completes and reboots
it starts getting worse.
Actually the layout on the login-screen is US and cannot be changed to others
than English (USA). The symbol for it is in the top bar.

After Login still US layout and current input-methode symbol is gone in
the top bar.

Looking in the Settings I see that there is no input-mothod in the list and I
have to manually add it; German (Switzerland).
Also English (USA) wasn't in the list like it should so i added it too.

After adding them everything is great. Small fix if you know how.

Case 3, Selecting right keymap with F3 before setup:

In this case i select the keymap before starting the Setup. This way the
test field later on the GUI will show the right letters and you wouldn't
realize an error expect if you use auto-detect which nobody would if
it's already showing correct.

Short said:
Case 1 just show the wrong keymap in the test field, but doesn't affect further
steps.
Case 2 ends in missing input-methods because of auto-detect, even if it looks
good until the end of the installation.
Case 3 is like case 1 but the test field shows the correct keymap.

I hope that somebody can fix this errors because i saw this (Case 2) with
several installations even on other distros as well and some users don't know
how they actually add a keymap if there is no symbol in the top bar.
I tried all cenarios an different machines and can reproduce it to a 100%.

I'll try with 32-bit too, I think it also exists there.

For the backports, are any other features needed like:

We can always merge these latter, but might make cherry-picking a bit
easier if done now. : )

[Bug 1419186] [NEW] bluetooth doesn't recover well from interruption

2015-02-06 Thread gregrwm
Public bug reported:

logged in using twm, i used blueman to pair my bose soundlink iii and
set it as audio sink, and pair my plantronics 8xx and set it as headset
service. i'm using mplayer to play radio via alsa /etc/asound.conf
defined pcm to the bose. i've opened linphone merely to test if it will
work. it's default settings are ALSA: default device. pulseaudio is
installed but not being used iiuc. i click on linphone's play button
to test the ring sound. the ring sound does arrive onto the plantronics
8xx, albeit with the first fraction of a second missing, but so far no
complaint.

immediately thereafter, a series of skips is heard in the bose audio,
spanning several seconds.

now i'm no expert regarding bluetooth bandwidth or other bluetooth
limitations, but what i hear is poor recovery from an interruption. the
test ring sound was less than two seconds, so it's not like there were
several seconds of overlapping audio. even if bluetooth bandwidth is so
narrow as to not accomodate the two parallel channels, should it really
take several seconds of numerous dropouts before the audio stream
settles again?

[Bug 1412602] Re: No live DE in Vivid using nouveau w/GeForce 7025/nForce 630a

2015-02-06 Thread Erick Brunzell
I have been able to reproduce that a few times in a gnome-shell session
but it's not specific to any one task. It crashed/froze twice just
looking for logs and once again while launching Firefox. OTOH I can use
the classic session w/o a problem - in fact I'm streaming the nightly
news right now.

I know that X actually freezes when the screen tears because I'd set
Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to kill X and tested it in both sessions. When the
screen tears as shown in the attached pic the keyboard is just totally
unresponsive causing me to do a hard reset.

There are no .xsession-errors in Home and I don't see anything unusual
in /var/log/Xorg.0.log but there is also an /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old that
I can't read.

FYI sometime tomorrow I'll add some storage to that box so I can retain
4 or 5 installs at the same time. That way I can dig for logs and/or do
some retesting without having to reinstall and update each time.

[Bug 1416601] Re: touchpad does not respond to tap-to-clicks in I2C mode in Ubuntu 15.04 on 2015 XPS 13 (9343)

2015-02-06 Thread Major Hayden
Done with the git bisect. It's somewhere in the late days of 3.17 and
early days of 3.18. Here's the RHBZ with the patch:

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1188439#c25

I'm hoping someone with more knowledge than me around this part of the
kernel can make sense of it. If I pull the patch, the touchpad works
extremely well (see RHBZ entry for more).
