[Bug 1274613] Re: module-bluetooth-discover does not load on login
The complete set of steps for the workaround are: * In a terminal, run `pactl load-module module-bluetooth-discover` * Right-click on the device in blueman, select connect to audio sink * Open Puleseaudio volume control (pavucontrol), browse to configuration , use the dropdown to turn the Built-in audio profile off * use the other dropdown to set the bluetooth device to use A2DP I think the desirable behavior is you would hit connect to audio sink and audio would start flowing through the bluetooth device, and then if you hit disconnect it would start flowing through the default profile again. However, there's an additional bug here, which is that after disconnecting (and manually switching the sink back on,) the default profile seems altered. I'm a little confused by what the underlying configuration change is, but xfce4-volumed can't control the volume of the built-in audio until I kill it and restart it: killall xfce4-volumed xfce4-volumed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1274613 Title: module-bluetooth-discover does not load on login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1274613/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 349469] Re: debconf: DbDriver config: /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by another process: Resource temporarily unavailable
I got this error on Ubuntu 14.04 after the Add printer driver-thingie crashed while trying to add openprinting-gutenprint. I tried many things including the suggestions here but the solution was to sudo apt-get install openprinting-gutenprint --reinstall The problem was that the program was half-installed so apt-get install and apt-get remove both failed. So did apt-get upgrade. Re: [Bug 1453307] Re: The booting process ends in a terminal. No lightdm, no graphic screen. The file system is read only. It is a systemd problem, because I can use upstart with no problem.
Hi, Sorry, I didn't have time before today to try what you suggest. So I added hte init=/bin/sysetmd to the grub command line and I installed the /var/log/journal. I could open a terminal on VT 9. When I tried to journalctl -b root/journal.txt I had the message Read only file system. So I mounted a OSB storage device to store the journal. Please find it attached. g 2015-06-02 7:01 GMT-04:00 Martin Pitt martin.p...@ubuntu.com: OK, thanks, so /var/log/syslog is useless here. Can you please boot with the systemd debug shell as described in /usr/share/doc/systemd/README.Debian and also drop quiet and splash from the linux line in grub. Do you get some output then? Can you switch to the debug shell at Ctrl+Alt+F9? If so, please do a 'journalctl -b /root/journal.txt, then reboot with upstart and attach /root/journal.txt here. -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453307 Title: The booting process ends in a terminal. [Bug 1256591]
Either these are to separate issues, or title and most of the comments are misleading. As suggested per https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264020#c31. Rerunning kdeinit4 would make this work also for current logged in session/user. It happens to seem to work for root, because by changing user new session (kdeinit, klauncher, kded, and dbus) is created. Using any other user but root works just fine as well. On the other hand, logging in (KDM) as root, root cannot access files over PTP via kio_kamera as described, but su - anyuser and run kioclient ls 'camera:/'... works like a charm. I am reasonably certain permissions play no role in this case. Unfortunately I am not very versed in topics DBus and debugging thereof, so I could only help by providing details upon request. My very wild guess would be timing issue (kdeinit (its children)/DBus), race during session creation. These observations are made with up to date patched Slack 14.1. Bug 1182784 which I've mentioned above and seems related is supposed to be fixed in ubiquity 2.21.27 which is available in Ubuntu Wily. Could someone please retest this issue with an Ubuntu Wily image to see whether this issue is still reproducible, or whether it got fixed alongside the other. Btw, please leave a comment when changing bug status. :) It was marked as triaged because it had been confirmed and also contained enough information for a developer to start looking at it, though it is not clear to me why it was changed back to confirmed. [Bug 1402551] Re: High memory usage of Xorg and kwin after Xorg security updates [nvidia]
Furthermore I have tested the KDE effects in 14.04.x (KDE 4.13.3); When I disable the following KDE effects, the memory leak is not occurring. Cover-Switch (in german: 3D-Fenstergalerie) and Flip Switch (3D- Fensterstapel) This is the result of testing for one week. The memory usage of the graphics card (nvidia-smi) stays normal and the kwin process usage grows to ~ 100 MiB RAM (2K:2560x1440) and also frees memory back, if windows are closed. Xorg process at ~ 100 MiB. I will test this further, but I think this two effects were the culprits. This problem is only with the nvidia binary driver (tested until 352.09), it is not with the driver nouveau, intel, radeon (fglrx not tested). ** Changed in: kde-workspace (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = In Progress ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-304-updates (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = In Progress ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-331-updates (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = In Progress ** No longer affects: xorg-server-lts-utopic (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: xorg-server-lts-trusty (Ubuntu) ** No longer affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1402551 Title: High memory usage of Xorg and kwin after Xorg security updates [nvidia] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-workspace/+bug/1402551/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1462791] [NEW] Unity control center fails to rebind keys
Public bug reported: A variety of predefined keys used by unity cannot be rebound. (Super+t, Super+w, pretty much anything used by Unity) If the user tries to rebind the keys using the unity-control-center - keyboard - shortcuts dialog, the keybindings will not function. There is a workaround for binding the keys which involves digging around in compizconfig-settings-manager for the guilty keybinding. [Bug 1462788] [NEW] Initrd is not gzip archive
Public bug reported: The seems to be an error in the intel_microcode hook for initramfs update. This breaks the initrd: # file /boot/initrd.img-3.19.0-18-generic /boot/initrd.img-3.19.0-18-generic: ASCII cpio archive (SVR4 with no CRC) This is not the expected gzip file. I am not sure now, whether my system is bootable. Edit /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/intel_microcode. Put an exit right after the comment header. This will disable the hook and generate a gzipped cpio archive. Xubuntu 15.04 initramfs-tools 0.103ubuntu15 I also checked an AMD-maschine. [Bug 1383184] Re: Atheros Qualcomm Killer N1525 Wireless-AC [168c:003e] not supported
Hello everyone, I followed the steps in #150, and after entering the make -jX command, I get asked a lot of things I don't understand, it's the first time I am compiling a kernel. Is this how it should be? I just pressed enter on everything, since I guess this sets up the default values...? I'm running Ubuntu 15.04 on an Acer Aspire VN7-571G (dual-boot with Windows 8.1). [Bug 1451277] Re: Extremely high IOWait and processes hungs after utopic-vivid upgrade with Iomega Zip drive (IDE)
I would also rise priority, since the issue - makes it often impossible to shut down the machine cleanly, requiring a hard reset which may result in data loss; - I imagine that it can make it quite hard to install security updates from ubuntu as any update of the kernel package tends to result in the system hanging at the make initramfs phase, that probably queries all system drives. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1451277 Title: Extremely high IOWait and processes hungs after utopic-vivid upgrade with Iomega Zip drive (IDE) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1451277/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But there shouldn't be an ordering cycle! The problem seems to be that sockets wants cups, and then through a hilarious chain of events we hit openafs-client which obviously needs network.
